2019 LOS ANGELES FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS

We continue the first ever Preseason Student Section Rankings ever….like not on this website, I mean ever!

The official website of the best of the best in Student Sections in Southern California brings you the first ever Preseason Rankings for the Football Student Section season.

Yesterday, we started with the Inland Empire Preseason Football Student Section Top 25 Rankings where we have the Vista Murrieta Bronco Bleacher Creatures. Will they stay there by the end of the season? We shall see.

Now, this is much tougher than doing a preseason rankings for football. With football, we have stats, information that is easily accessible and the opportunity to see the team in the summer and at practices.

Student Sections are based off their rich history, their social media game and banking off the leadership from last season and seeing if they are back or off to college.

Sometimes, like football, student sections can have a hard time replacing senior leadership in the stands. Some of these student sections might be in a rebuilding year and some just know how to reload when they lose key students with school spirit.

One of the key things that helps a student section get recognition outside of the their local area to the Southern Region and perhaps the nation is working a strong social media game.

If you don’t have a strong social media game to show off your school spirit, it’s like a tree falling with no one around. It doesn’t make any noise. The only way it makes noise is if you film it or take a photo of it falling down and posting it on social media, like Twitter or Instagram (I don’t advise you cutting trees by the way.)

The tree in this is the students chanting or throwing streamers and powder or rocking the stands. Just a video or two per week on social media can get love for your student section.

Just ask the Bishop Amat of La Puente Dawgpound, which will look to defend their Los Angeles Student Section Football title, which they won last December.

Work social media and get wild.

I look for a repeat with the Dawgpound, but this is anyone’s game until the end of the football season.

These are just preseason rankings. The real ones come out in December after naming a SoCal Student Section of the Week each week from Week Zero to the CIF-SS Finals.

Let’s see who proves me right and who proves me wrong, here are the Los Angeles Student Section Preseason Rankings for the football season of 2019, enjoy and be nice!

2019 LOS ANGELES FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION TOP 25 PRESEASON RANKINGS

1. Bishop Amat of La Puente (Dawgpound) Last Year: 1

The Dawgpound is the Los Angeles Dodgers of student section, they have a winner out there every year and these kids are wild. The powder is expected and when it’s not thrown in the air, they confetti, streamers and loud noises are second to none. I expect the Dawgpound to repeat this season as the Los Angeles Football Student Section Champions.

2. South Hills of Covina (Dawgpound) Last Year: 2

The Dawgpound was fun to watch last season. This season should be no different and it should be no different for South Hills, which took the 2018 CIF-SS title. The Dawgpound took one of the SoCal Student Section of the week award. I expect nothing different this season.

3. St. John Bosco of Bellflower (The Tribe) Last Year: 4

I’m expecting a big year from the Tribe. I mean they have one of the best football programs in the country year in and year out. That stadium is filled with so much entertainment. The Tribe will not only battle for the weekly title, but the Los Angeles title in December.

4. Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks (The Castle) Last Year: 8

The Castle has seen some great football these past few years. The Knights has seen a fantastic student section these last few seasons as well. Nothing should change in 2019.

5. Chaminade of West Hills (Eagles Nest) Last Year: 3

The Eagles Nest is always at the top every season. They will show out and go wild this season despite losing some big names this season. The sea of blue will not only mean the field, but the football stands.

6. Alemany of Mission Hills (Warzone) Last Year: 5

The Warzone is going to have a fun one with the Warriors being so loaded this season. When you win, students take interest, so I expect the Warzone to grow more than usual.

7. Oaks Christian of Westlake Village (Lions Den) Last Year: 11

The Lions Den always shows. I expect them to still show despite the Lions losing top talent. Oaks Christian will reload for their fans.

8. Los Altos of Hacienda Heights (Conqueror Crazies) Last Year: 6

The name won’t fool anyone, these kids are crazy. One of last seasons SoCal Student Section of the week winners in 2018, the Crazies will go crazy enough to take another weekly award in 2019.

9. Valencia (Vikings Nation) Last Year: 7

Vikings Nation always enjoys some fantastic football from their Vikings. This is a savage student section and those are my favorite.

10. St. Bonaventure of Ventura (Gates of Heaven) Last Year: 9

The Gates of Heaven is one of my favorite student section names. I’m expecting a great year for St. Bonaventure and their student section.

11. Oxnard (12th Man) Last Year: 12

The 12th Man was one of last seasons SoCal Student Section of the Week winners and for good reason. Oxnard always brings a winner on the field and in the stands.

12. St. Francis of La Canada (The Dungeon) Last Year: 10

The Dungeon shows up in very large numbers. One of my favorites. They should be no different in 2019.

13. La Serna of Whittier (The Kingdom) Last Year: 14

The Kingdom will probably be ranked higher in the Student Section Rankings in December. This is a wild crowd and a great football team.

14. Hart of Newhall (The Tribe) Last Year: N/A

The one time I saw the Tribe, it was a road game. I love road warriors. I can’t imagine how they are during home games.

15. Camarillo (Scorpion Cyclone) Last Year: 17

The Cyclone always attends and they should when Camarillo plays. The Scorpions are always league favorites.

16. Westlake of Westlake Village (Warriors Nation) Last Year: 15

Warriors Nation will look to stay the course with their Warriors, especially during Marmonte League play.

17. West Ranch of Valencia (The Pack) Last Year: 16

The Pack enjoyed a big year in 2018 with West Ranch making a run in the playoffs. The Pack will be needed with West Ranch battling for a playoff spot in the Foothill League.

18. Highland of Palmdale (Dawgpound) Last Year: 18

The Dawgpound enjoyed a huge season from the Bulldogs in their 13-win season. I expect another big season from Highland and the pound.

19. Burbank (Dawgpound) Last Year: 19

I’ve seen this student section before, but during basketball season. A pack and loud crowd. You can guess that it is close to the same on the field.

20. Saugus (Blue Crew) Last Year: 20

The Blue Crew keeps up with the best of the best in the Foothill League. This league has some rowdy kids and the Blue Crew is responsible for that.

21. Walnut Mustangs Last Year: N/A

The Mustangs show love for their team no matter what, win or loss.

22. Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits Last Year: N/A

It’s tough to match the cheers from the parents section, but the Jackrabbits student section is always heard.

23. Newbury Park (Panther Pit) Last Year: 13

I’ve seen the Pit before. Fantastic student section and they’ll be needed in a tough Marmonte League.

24. Providence of Burbank (Wild Wagon) Last Year: N/A

With a cool name like the Wild Wagon, you can just assume that this student section is a fun one to watch.

25. Golden Valley of Santa Clarita (The Den) Last Year: N/A

It’s been awhile since I’ve seen The Den, but this student section is fantastic no matter the result on the field. They show great support for their team.
