You get to vote up to 4 student sections in each region. The Top 2 student sections in each region will head to the National Basketball Student Section of the Year voting poll. With the exception of Alabama and Louisiana, yours truly went solo with the other states. It was not an easy task. I can’t imagine how I’ll fare when we cover all 50 states in August. Regardless, it is so much fun to watch student sections all over the country go wild. It kind of makes the stress and loss of sleep worth while. it’s a shame we only get to pick 5 Student Sections in each state. We know some student sections will not be pleased when they don’t see their school as a state finalists, but remember, I’m a one man show. Do you think I would forget about the West Coast states that I saw during football season? Guess again! With Student Section Report going from only Southern California to 6 regions in 5 states, we are now expanding to 22 regions in 21 states. I am still a one-man show for the most part with no pay, so let’s see if I'm still alive by season’s end. 11 states will be part of the South Region (Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky. 10 states, which includes us dividing California into 2 regions, NorCal and SoCal, will be part of the West Region (Washington, Oregon, Utah, Nevada, Northern California, Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Alaska, Hawaii).
