With all the talk about student sections, the attention tends to drift away from the marching bands. The bands prepare and make sure the momentum is at a positive and at a high during the game as an attentive rowdy group of fans can help a football team win. With a student section as rowdy and crazy as the El Dorado Hawks Nest of Placentia, you can possibly miss the talents in the band. You can hear them and when the student section can’t get the fans or the team spirits up, the band can and the El Dorado Golden Hawks Marching Band can do that and do it just as well as the Hawks Nest.   From the time I began covering student sections, I was always told to take a look at the Santa Ana Marching Saints. Not a student section, but I kept being told to check them out. I finally got the chance to see them during a Santa Ana football playoff game last November and man, they did not disappoint.  This band put on a solid show and has that prestige everyone talks about.  With the game coming to an end, I left the press box and began walking down to the field. The Carlsbad Loud Crowd is a Dynasty of a Student Section and while you think the Carlsbad Lancer Marching Band gets overshadowed, think again!
