Preview: Week Zero Student Section Battles

Football will be underway tonight (well, three SoCal games were underway last week, but you get what I mean.)

Time to dust off the stands and for these games, make sure the stands are sturdy and can handle the shaking in these 12 key student section matchups.

There’s plenty of other top students section that will go nuts, but these are the ones that stand out;

TOP INLAND EMPIRE STUDENT SECTION MATCHES

Chino Hills (Dawgpound) at Ayala of Chino Hills (Dawgpound), Friday, 7pm

The Chino Hills Dawgpound invade Ayala and their Dawgpound inthe Battle of the Bone! First off, what an awesome name to a city rivalry! This is an evenly matched game, but this is a city rivalry. Bragging rights to the city of Chino Hills will be on the line and I expect both student sections to get rowdy!

Glendora (Dogpound) at Damien of La Verne (The Pit), Friday, 7pm

This is a road game and the Glendora Dogpound will look to invade Damien High and the Pit. The Pit is a crazy student section during basketball season, but I can expect them to be wild during football season.

Redlands East Valley (Litter Box) vs. Santa Margarita of Rancho Santa Margarita (Eagles Nest) at Citrus Valley of Redlands, Friday, 7pm

The Litter Box will be needed as Santa Margarita rolls into town. If the Eagles Nest travels, then this would be a fun one to attend. The Redhawks will need all the help on Friday and hopefully the Litter Box can deliver.

LOS ANGELES STUDENT SECTION MATCHES

Oaks Christian of Westlake Village (Lions Den) at Chaminade of West Hills (The Cage), Friday, 7pm

I’ve covered this rivalry and both student sections showed up and filled the stands. I expect nothing different this time around. The Cage of Chaminade will look to protect their house against the Lions Den of Oaks Christian. This will be a fun one.

Sierra Canyon of Chatsworth at Westlake of Westlake Village (Warriors Nation), Friday, 7pm

Warriors Nation will look to protect their territory against Sierra Canyon student section. On top of having one of the best basketball programs in the nation, the Trail Blazers also have a fantastic football team. Good sports program comes with great student sections. Warrior Nation will need to turn it up a notch against a good Sierra Canyon team.

Eisenhower of Rialto vs. South Hills of West Covina (Dawgpound) at Covina District Field, Friday, 7pm

The Dawgpound always packs the student section for home games and this is a home game. Eisenhower knows this is a huge game and their fans will look to rattle the Huskies. Tough task with the Dawgpound on the other side.

TOP ORANGE COUNTY STUDENT SECTION MATCHES

Capistrano Valley of Mission Viejo (The Cage) at Tustin (The Barn), Friday, 7pm

The Cage traveled last season and driving up the 5 freeway on a Friday afternoon is tough, but this student section is up to the task to run into The Barn of Tustin. The Barn is a crazy group. This should be a fun one.

Centennial of Corona (The Dawgpound) vs. Mater Dei of Santa Ana (The Den) at Santa Ana Stadium, Friday, 7:30pm

Whenever Mater Dei runs into one of the best teams in the West Coast at home, the Den shows up. This student section gets wild and if the Dawgpound arrives, then this will be an entertaining filled night.

Corona del Mar of Newport Beach (The Kings Krew) vs. Downey at Newport Harbor of Newport Beach, Friday, 7pm

Last year the Kings Krew had early home games, when school wasn’t in session, so attendance was tough. They get to redeem themselves on Friday and with so much expected from the Sea Kings, the Kings Krew should go all out. Expect lights, fog machine, powder and lots of noise!

TOP SAN DIEGO STUDENT SECTION MATCHES

Los Alamitos (Los Locos) at Torrey Pines of San Diego (Torrey Pines Chaos), Friday, 7:15pm

Los Locos of Los Al travels well, but going down to San Diego will be a tough task. The Torrey Pines Chaos will rocked the stadium. This will be a lot more fun if we see a student section battle.

La Costa Canyon of Carlsbad (The Stampede) at Cathedral Catholic of San Diego (Los Locos), Friday, 7pm

Another Los Locos student section, The Dons have a home game, so this crazy student section will look to get to a rocking start. The Stampede doesn’t travel well, but if they do, they might give the Mavs an advantage.

Hart of Newhall (The Tribe) at Carlsbad (Loud Crowd), Friday,  7pm

The Loud Crowd knows how to throw a party. The music, streamers, powder and crazy themes makes you forget sometimes that there is a football game going on. I’ve seen The Tribe travel before, but going to Carlsbad is tough, but I wouldn’t put any doubt that they would travel down to Carlsbad to get rowdy.
