SoCal Student Section Preview: (11/21/19)

Off Student Section Buzz,

The final Football Student Section preview for 2019…seems like yesterday when I started to try and call out student sections or highlight them.

With the SoCal Football Student Section Rankings just two weeks away, this is a great final impression to either break into the Top 25 or take the top spot.

Before we checkout the potential student section battles in Southern California, let us recap what went down last week in the world of Student Sections.

 

LAST WEEK STUDENT SECTION RECAP

In San Diego, the Oceanside Ship brought their school spirit on the road when the Pirates faced Steele Canyon of Spring Valley in the quarterfinals of the CIF-SDS Division I Quarterfinals.

The Ship sailed into town and went wild. They may have known that the Cougars were big favorites, so Oceanside needed the help to rattle Steele Canyon. 

The rattling may have worked because Oceanside handled Steele Canyon in overtime with a 26-19 victory.

The Ship enjoyed the game and made the trip worth while!

In Orange County, the Servite Asylum of Anaheim had a battle in the stands while their football team had one on the field.

In a “White Out” theme, the Asylum battled big with the Diablo Inferno and while being the road warriors, they matched up well with the home team.

It was a strong way to finish despite the 38-35 loss to Mission Viejo.

As far as Mission Viejo, the Diablo Inferno knew the Servite Asylum was going to show up on the road and they were ready for them. 

Not only were they as loud as the Asylum, but they kept their Diablos pumped as always in their victory.

Now, they have a bigger task as Mission Viejo takes on Mater Dei of Santa Ana.

The student section that led the pack in the OC was Sunny Hills Lancer Nation of Fullerton. 

With the Lancers taking on Notre Dame of Riverside, Lancer Nation came ready to go in a neon theme. 

Lancer Nation was loud from start to finish and even got a wave going during the game. That isn’t easy getting the adults involved, but Lancer Nation pulled it off while Sunny Hills pulled off the 49-24 victory.

Over in the Inland Empire, Centennial of Corona ran into a Trinity League school, so the Huskies needed help and they got it from the Dawgpound.

The Dawgpound rocked it and so did the Huskies in their 56-0 victory over JSerra of San Juan Capistrano.

Up next, another Trinity League team, St. John Bosco of Bellflower. Good thing the Huskies are at home, so the Dawgpound will look to step it up again.

Etiwanda came out as the IE representative as the Eagles took on Glendora.

The Etiwanda Red Zone showed up and showed off their school spirit despite the 38-21 loss. Not a bad way to end the Student Section season Red Zone!

In the end, it was the West Ranch Pack of Valencia or for this week, the West Ranch “District”.

After the tragic school shooting last Thursday at Saugus High School that left three students dead, West Ranch mourned the sad news at the nearby high school. 

The other four high schools in the William S. Hart School District mourned as well, but West Ranch, which had already changed their theme to blue in honor of Saugus, united the student sections in the school district to cheer on the Wildcats, but more importantly, show their love and support for Saugus.

The Santa Clarita Community rallied for Saugus and the Wildcats rallied to a 57-56 come from behind victory over Wilson of Long Beach to advance to the CIF-SS semifinals.

The community rallied behind Saugus and what West Ranch did gave us hope for humanity.

With the four SoCal Regions set, the voting began and with a record number of votes, the West Ranch “District” took the SoCal Student Section of the Week title.

Let’s see who wins the final SoCal Student Section of the Week for 2019.

 

SOCAL STUDENT SECTION PREVIEW

 

INLAND EMPIRE (All games on Friday at 7pm)

St. John Bosco of Bellflower (The Tribe) at Centennial of Corona (The Dawgpound) 

After beating one Trinity League team at home, the Huskies are going to ask the Dawgpound for more help against another Trinity League Student Section.

No obstacle is too big for the Dawgpound or the Huskies.

If the Huskies can show off their student section on Friday, they could be the favorite to take the final SoCal Student Section of the Week title.

Who knows, rattling the Braves will give Centennial one more game. Keep shaking the Trinity League cage Dawgpound!

West Ranch of Valencia (“The District”) at Temecula Valley (Gold Zone) 

I’ve briefly talked to the Gold Zone and they hyped up their student section, but they haven’t showed visual proof of their student section. 

We do know they belong in one of the best Student Section Leagues in SoCal and they are one of the reasons, but they have been missing on social media.

This will be the week to move up in the rankings. Plus, West Ranch is a tough team and some rattling will need to be done.

Also, this is a student section that may travel and could possibly come in six student sections strong as the William S. Hart School District is uniting as one.

Better be ready Gold Zone!

Alhambra at Ramona of Riverside (Rowdy Rams)

Ramona has a tough one in front of them and they need to get motivated.

If only they can get a rowdy group of people to join in.

Cue the Rowdy Rams!

The Rowdy Rams have made a big appearance this season and we expect them to show up in what is the biggest game of the year for Ramona.

If the Rowdy Rams show off their school spirit like they did a few weeks ago, they might take the weekly SoCal title.

The only weakness for the Rowdy Rams is consistency in showing off their school spirit. If they do that, they’ll be one of the bad boys in the IE. 

Aquinas of San Bernardino (The Cage) at Glendora (Dogpound)

The Dogpound took one of the SoCal Student Section of the Week title last year, but things are a bit different this season as we haven’t seen much of the Dogpound this year.

This might be the time to show off the student sections and if you do show up with marketing yourselves, that’s on you, but I am guessing you guys are preparing to make some noise and get in Aquinas head.

The Falcons are nothing to mess with and we expect the Dogpound to rattle them. If you do intend to do that, share it with us! You could gladly be rewarded.

Adelanto (Saints Nation) at Orange Vista of Perris (Coyote Den)

Adelanto is going to be a tough opponent and the Den better be ready.

This is a small student sections, but one I’ve heard through the grapevine.

This would be the perfect time to confirm that this student section does exist. In order to do that, post photos and videos and in the middle of all that, rattle the Saints.

You never know, it might be the difference to see the Coyotes in the Finals.

 

LOS ANGELES (All games on Friday at 7pm)

Pacifica of Oxnard (Triton Nation) at Crespi of Encino (Crespi Cabana)

The Cabana has a rich history when it comes to student sections, but they’ve had a hard time adjusting with the student section craze. 

Better make the adjustment now. The only adjustment they need to make is market themselves on social media. Outside of that, they’re still a pretty solid group.

The Cabana needs to get ready to rattle Pacifica. Plus you never know if they bring their crazy posters.

Get the party going Cabana and share it with us.

Santa Barbara at Palmdale (Falcon Nation)

Falcon Nation has rocked it, but they post every now and then. The now part should come up on Friday as Palmdale faces a tough Dons football squad.

Falcon Nation is climbing up the charts and we hope they rock it again on Friday. Hopefully, they share with us again.

Corona del Mar of Newport Beach (Kings Krew) at Alemany of Mission Hills (Warzone)

While it might be too far of a drive for the Kings Krew, you never know if they make it to Alemany.

The Warzone should be ready for them, but they should also start marketing themselves. 

It is something I’ve mentioned many times and i’ve got nothing from them.

It isn’t too late to show off the student section. Better bring it and rattle the Sea Kings.

Katella of Anaheim at Crescenta Valley of La Crescenta (Falcon Nation)

Last week, Falcon Nation was alive and we expect the same thing this week against Katella.

If they can share just a little bit more, I can expect them to be the favorite out of the LA region for this week. 

Plus, you never know with Katella, they could be coming for an upset and the Falcons will need the help if needed. 

Keep it up Falcon Nation.

Loyola of Los Angeles (Loyola Pride) at Camarillo (Scorpion Cyclone)

The Cyclone has shown up this season and will need to show up again this Friday.

With a red hot Loyola squad coming to town, the Scorpions will be needed to tame the Cubs and we expect that to happen.

Hopefully, the Cyclones will share their school spirit and hopefully they can share it next week if they do their job. Their student section can be a helpful group to Camarillo. 

Bring your A game!

 

ORANGE COUNTY (All games on Friday at 7pm)

Mater Dei of Santa Ana (The Den) at Mission Viejo (Diablo Inferno) 

After battling with the Servite Asylum last week, it is time for the Diablo Inferno to bring back the same energy against another Trinity League student section.

Diablo Inferno is looking to take the top spot in Orange County with the Student Section Football Rankings coming out in a few weeks.

The Den may not make the trip, but the Inferno will be ready just in case and they intend to get in the Monarchs head. A tough task, but the Inferno will be up to the task.

Spit that hot fire Inferno!

Sunny Hills of Fullerton (Lancer Nation) at Trabuco Hills of Mission Viejo (Stampede)   

Two weeks ago, I called out Lancer Nation and they proved me wrong. Last week they were the OC Student Section of the Week.

Will they be the road warriors? Nothing is impossible with this student sections, which has been on fire as of late.

We could see it and we may see a student section battle with the Stampede, which has started to show up on social media and we expect them to show up again.

The Mustangs want revenge and we expect the Stampede to be ready to go on Friday.

Inglewood at Esperanza of Anaheim (The Hut)

Esperanza is looking to get in the finals for the first time in 15 years.

The Hut will have to step up to the plate and shake things up as the Aztecs run into a much improved and undefeated Inglewood squad.

The Hut will look to put their name with the big boys of the student section world. This is the game to do it. 

The Hut better work on the marketing part because we know they show up. 

Bring it Hut or hike it away…not the best pun, but you get it.

South Torrance at Loara of Anaheim (Saxonity)

Yes, Saxonity is apparently a thing.

I’m covering this game for the paper tomorrow, so i’ll get to find out first hand.

If this is a real student sections, I expect them to go wild tomorrow as Loara will look to reach the CIF Finals for the first time in 40 years.

I will say this though, that is a very creative name for a student section!

Orange (The Juice Box) at Simi Valley (Pioneer Nation)

I know this is a far away road game, but this is the Juice Box we are talking about. They could very well be road warriors in this one.

They may run into Simi Valley student section, which has been quiet on social media.

Quite the opposite for the Juice Box. 

If they make the trip, they will let us know. Plus, the Pioneers are a tough team and we expect the Juice Box to cheer loud for the Panthers.

SAN DIEGO (All games on Friday at 7pm)

 

Helix of La Mesa (Dawghouse) vs. Carlsbad (Loud Crowd) at Southwestern College of Chula Vista

This one is for the CIF-San Diego Section Open Division title.

We know the Loud Crowd will be there and they’ll let us know. The Loud Crowd is one of the best student sections in Southern California.

The Dawghouse used to market themselves the same way as the Loud Crowd, but they have been quiet in that department for some years. They show up, but they don’t finish the battle on social media.

This is going to be a fantastic game. While Helix is favored on the field, the Carlsbad Loud Crowd is favored in the stands.

Only one way to find out, market your student section!

Central of El Centro (Central Crazies) at Scripps Ranch of San Diego (The Cage)

The Cage is just a name with me. I haven’t seen them post anything during football season.

This might be the time to show off the Cage.

The Cage is enjoying a fantastic football season from the Falcons, i’m certain of that.

Plus, the Crazies might invade your home turf and you don’t want a bunch of crazies to show up!

Show off your school spirit…on social media!

Mission Hills of San Marcos (Growl Crowd) at Lincoln of San Diego (The Hive) 

The Hive is enjoying a great run by the Hornets, but they run into a pretty good football squad and a fantastic student section.

The Growl Crowd has one the SoCal Student Section of the Week award, but while they can’t win this award again, they can definitely make some noise for the top spot in San Diego by being road warriors.

The Hive better bring it and rattle the Grizzles!

Oceanside (The Ship) at Madison (San Diego (The Madhouse)

Is Madison Student Section called the Madhouse? They never mention their name.

They also never show off the student section during football season.

They will have to defend their home as The Ship went on the road and took over Steele Canyon.

The Ship may have rattled the Cougars and they could rattle the Warhawks.

Madison better battle with The Ship and pump up the Warhawks.

Challenge Accepted?

El Camino of Oceanside (The Jungle) at Vista (Panther Pit)

The Panther Pit is another San Diego Student Section that never shows off their school spirit. 

The Jungle on the other hand has. It’s been inconsistent, but it’s better than most student section.

The Jungle doesn’t have to go far and we hope they become road warriors and rattle the Panthers.

El Camino is on a roll and in order to do that, they need the Jungle.

Will the Panther Pit let their opposing student section take control of their home or will they make some noise and share their school spirit to the world?

Only one way to find out!
