SoCal Student Section Week 12 Preview: (11/13/19)

To all the student sections who had football teams on a bye week for the first round game, let me just say, Welcome back!

Last week, finding the four top student sections in Southern California wasn’t as easy compared to the last few weeks.

Some student sections said it will be easier with their return. Let’s hope they’re right.

Let’s see the student sections that did stand out last week before we preview the student section battles for the CIF Quarterfinals.

SOCAL STUDENT SECTION FIRST ROUND RECAP

Last week after falling short a few times in taking the title, the Valencia Viking Nation finally ended on top as the SoCal Student Section of the week.

Despite the 17-7 season ending loss to San Clemente, it was a strong final case for the Los Angeles Football Student Section of the Year. Let’s see if it pays off.

Palos Verdes Peninsula Zoo of Rolling Hills Estates was the only strong student section to make a case in the Los Angeles region last week as they showed out for the Panthers. It was a great final showing for the football student section in the 20-11 loss to Crescenta Valley of La Crescenta.

Ramona Rowdy Rams have made a strong case and earned the finalist spot in the Inland Empire and almost took the top spot.

Notre Dame Titan Army showed up and showed off on Friday as the Titans defeated Grand Terrace 20-14. It was a showing that almost got them the Inland Empire nomination.

Over in Orange County, Trabuco Hills Stampede of Mission Viejo had full control of their home turf and the same was said for the Mustangs in their 24-10 victory over Pacifica of Garden Grove.

El Modena Rowdy Rooters of Orange went Road Warriors on us and show up for St. Paul of Santa Fe Springs. Rowdy is putting it lightly as this goofy and loud group made plenty of noise despite the 38-0 loss. It has been a fun season watching the Rowdy Rooters. Well played.

Foothill Dungeon of Santa Ana continues to enjoy this historic year from the Knights as the undefeated season continues. The Dungeon showed off their school spirit for everyone in the Knights 45-7 victory over Troy of Fullerton.

Now in San Diego, the Mater Dei Catholic of Chula Vista Student Section made a good showing on Friday and it was noticed in the Crusaders 33-19 victory over Imperial.

It was as good as the Blue Crew, a seasoned student section that showed up for San Marcos once again despite their 34-20 loss to Grossmont of El Cajon.

SOCAL STUDENT SECTION CIF QUARTERFINALS PREVIEW

INLAND EMPIRE

JSerra of San Juan Capistrano (JSerra Pride) at Centennial of Corona (Dawgpound), Friday, 7pm

The Dawgpound needs to make a push if they want to be the Inland Empire best student section this season because there’s four IE Student Sections above them right now.

The Dawgpound knows how big this game is for the Huskies and they will arrive. As for the Dawgpound themselves, they haven’t worked the social media side of this student section game, but instead have relied on other sources to do that for them. You have to put in the work and we hope the Dawgpound blows up social media on Friday.

As for the Pride, it would be nice to see them on the road, but we can’t have everything, right?

Paramount (The Ship) at Roosevelt of Eastvale (The Stampede), Friday, 7pm

10.11.19 PINK OUT GAME?

A post shared by @ erhs_stampede on

The Stampede has been the recent student section to blow up on social media as they rushed up in the Student Section Rankings.

The Mustangs faces a tough Paramount squad, but they have the advantage with the Stampede rattling their opponents, but it might be time to turn it up to another level in this one.

Outside of that, keep rocking the stands Stampede.

Glendora (Dogpound) at Etiwanda (Red Zone), Friday, 7pm

The Red Zone made a splash in the beginning of the season, but have just cruised the rest of the season.

It might be time to stand out from the rest of the student sections in the IE, especially when Glendora comes into town.

The Eagles would benefit from a rattled Glendora squad and plus, you never know if Glendora makes the trip and starts up a student section battle!

Show off your school spirit guys!

Culver City at Chino Hills (Dawgpound), Friday, 7pm

We haven’t seen much of the Dawgpound this season, but they’ll be needed when highly favored Culver City comes into town.

Dawgpound is going to have to turn it up in the stands and on social media or it’s time to get ready to be rowdy for basketball season!

Crespi of Encino (Crespi Cabana) at Ayala of Chino Hills (Dawgpound)

While the Cabana might not travel to Chino Hills, the Dawgpound should be ready nevertheless.

With an undefeated football team, the Dawgpound has plenty to cheer about, but they haven’t showed it off on Twitter or Instagram. Might be time to start now.

The Dawgpound is going to have to make a strong showing to make a splash in the Inland Empire Student Section Rankings.

LOS ANGELES

Calabasas (The Pack) at St. John Bosco of Bellflower (The Tribe), Friday, 7pm

The Tribe has said it a few times that this is their chance to make some noise in the student section world.

I’m still waiting for that moment.

The Tribe will get another chance to stand out when Calabasas comes to town. This is a solid football team and the Braves need to get up early. Hopefully the Tribe can assist.

While the Tribe makes the noise in the stands, they should do the same on social media. Rattle the social media world Tribe.

Upland (Dogpound) at Chaminade of West Hills (The Cage), Friday, 7pm

Chaminade pulled off a big win and are now at home.

The Cage will look to get in DE Justin Flowe head and be of assistance to the Eagles.

The Cage knows how to market themselves on social media…or at least I thought they did.

The Cage will go wild, but it wouldn’t hurt to let us know about as well. You might get rewarded for it.

Garfield of Los Angeles at Birmingham of Van Nuys (Patriot Pack), Friday, 7pm

The Patriot Pack is looking to be the best football student section in the City Section and in order to do that they need to rattle the Bulldogs.

The Pack has made a great presence on Instagram and I expect nothing different on Friday!

La Serna of Whittier (The Kingdom) at Los Altos of Hacienda Heights (Conqueror Crazies), Friday, 7pm

The Conqueror Crazies is looking to defend their name and go crazy as La Serna will try to end the Conquistadors season.

This was a student section that showed off their school spirit, but that has disappeared.

Maybe the student section doesn’t even exist anymore? One way to find out is that they market themselves again on social media.

Speaking of disappearing from social media, the Kingdom has become a stranger too.

This is going to be a good game, but these student sections need to show and show off on Friday.

Wilson of Long Beach (Bruins Nation) at West Ranch of Valencia (The Pack)

The Pack is looking to be the best student section in the Valley.

In order to do that, a strong showing is needed against Wilson.

After Valencia Viking Nation took the SoCal Student Section of the Week title last week, the Pack will look be the next Foothill League to win it.

The Pack will have to market themselves like the Viking Nation and while they market themselves, they need to rattle the Bruins as they aren’t an easy team to get by.

Will the Pack make noise or will it be Viking Nation taking the title as the best in the Valley? That’s the Pack to decide.

ORANGE COUNTY

Servite of Anaheim (Servite Asylum) at Mission Viejo (Diablo Inferno), Friday, 7:30pm

The Diablo Inferno will look to rock it against one of the hotter teams, but they also know that there is an Invasion.

The Servite Asylum is going on the road to take over Mission Viejo.

Both student sections will show off to Fox Sports West and will show off on social media.

Expect this game to be a battle on the field, but especially in the student section.

Hopefully the play-by-play isn’t distracted by the loud and rowdy student sections.

Rancho Verde of Moreno Valley (Red Zone) at San Clemente (Loud Crowd), Friday, 7pm

The Loud Crowd know that Rancho Verde is a tough team and will look to distract them while the Tritons blow it up on the field.

Something the Red Zone struggles is social media marketing which is quite the opposite for the Loud Crowd.

The Loud Crowd knows what to do and another strong showing will help them move up in the rankings. Stay Loud…Crowd!

Edison of Huntington Beach (The MESS) at La Habra (The Clan), Friday, 7pm

The Clan made their social media appearance last week, which is great, but this was an everyday thing a few years ago.

We hope to see more of the Clan and especially on Friday with Edison rolling into town.

Plus, the MESS can travel, so we might see a student section battle.

If the MESS shows up, they’ll let us know.

This is going to be a great game and it also has the potential to be a loud one as well.

Hart of Newhall (The Tribe) at San Juan Hills of San Juan Capistrano (The Stampede)

These are two student sections that bring their A game, but their social media game is inconsistent.

The Tribe probably won’t make the long trip to South County, but the Stampede will show up.

The problem is will they post it and show it off?

Notre Dame of Riverside (Titan Army) at Sunny Hills of Fullerton (Lancer Nation), Friday, 7pm

Lancer Nation is starting to show off their school spirit at the right time.

Sunny Hills faces a solid Titans squad and will look for a boost.

Lancer Nation will be ready to give that boost and cause a ruckus for Notre Dame and hopefully they can show off their student section once again!

SAN DIEGO

Carlsbad (Loud Crowd) at Cathedral Catholic of San Diego (Los Locos), Friday, 7pm

Last week, Los Locos informed me that they’ll bring it on Friday.

It is time for Los Locos to put up or shut up as the Dons host Carlsbad.

Plus, with a student section like the Loud Crowd, it wouldn’t surprise me if they made the trip to San Diego for this one.

This will be a battle all over the stadium. In the stands and on the field.

We know the Loud Crowd will show off their student section on Twitter, but will Los Locos do the same? We shall find out.

St. Augustine of San Diego (Saints Pit) at Helix of La Mesa (The Dawghouse), Friday, 7pm

The Saints Pit will be needed and hopefully will make the trip to battle with the Dawghouse.

This will be a fantastic game and this game has the potential to be a student section battle.

Both student sections lack a strong social media game, but when you compare, I have no right to complain about the Saints Pit as they at least try to post their student section every now and then.

The Dawghouse, which used to be the best in their social media game, has disappeared from Twitter or Instagram when it comes to showing off their student section.

I’ve been waiting for them to return for the last 2-3 seasons.

They have a bunch of Instagram pages, would if hurt you to have one solely on the Dawghouse that is active?

Hopefully the Saints Pit can show it off like they have a few times.

Let’s shake up the Student Section Rankings guys!

Oceanside (The Ship) at Steele Canyon of Spring Valley (Cougar Den), Friday, 7pm

This is going to be a good one and hopefully the Ship will sail in this one.

Now, both student sections might be there, but they never show off on social media.

Will this be the first time both student sections show off their school spirit? The safe bet is no.

I hope I am wrong, but this is too good of a game to just sit and be quiet. The Cougar Den should make noise, but I hope they can market themselves.

Torrey Pines of San Diego (TP Chaos) at Lincoln of San Diego (The Hive), Friday, 7pm

This is another good matchup and this could potentially be a student section battle.

The Chaos has a great student section, but they share with everyone in Southern California as often as some of the best student section in San Diego.

Hopefully, the Chaos can return to the top and heading to the road can help that.

Granted, showing it off social media will work as well.

The Hive is another student section that doesn’t show off their school spirit and hopefully they make their appearance on social media.

With the San Diego Football Student Section Rankings coming up soon, this would be a great way to make a case.

West Hills of Santee (The Pack) at Scripps Ranch of San Diego (The Cage), Friday, 7pm

The Falcons will look to stay undefeated and will need the Cage to rattle the Pack.

The Cage I am guessing is more of a basketball student section as they are not showing off their school spirit during basketball season?

Now, the same can be said for the Pack.

The Wolfpack can possibly end the perfect season for Scripps Ranch, but hopefully the Cage can rattle West Hills and if they do, please show it off on social media.
