Another strong showing from the Student Sections despite some challenges in Northern California and Nevada.

The air quality thanks to some unfortunate fires have pushed or canceled some games for both regions, which means some student sections got pushed back as well.

A few student sections still made a strong showing before the game got canceled like the Folsom Dog Pack and their efforts didn’t go unnoticed as they were a nominee for NorCal Student Section of the Week.

In the end, it was the Del Oro Blackhole of Loomis that took the Northern California Student Section of the Week title.

The West Covina Bulldog Nation took the Los Angeles and the Southern California Student Section of the Week award while Spanish Springs Cougar Den of Sparks was top dawg in Nevada.

Arizona, Oregon and Washington will join the Student Section craze on the Student Section Report, so be ready for the chaos!

We have about 10 more weeks of Student Section of the Week voting, so if you’re Student Section didn’t make the Final 4, not to worry, you have plenty of time to make the cut!

Now, these three Student Sections didn’t just get picked, we had three other nominees in every region. Let’s recognize those nominees;

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA: FOLSOM DOG PACK, BUCHANAN RED RIOT OF CLOVIS WHITNEY X-FACTOR OF ROCKLIN

NEVADA: RENO, BOULDER CITY, VALLEY OF LAS VEGAS

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA: MISSION HILLS GROWL CROWD OF SAN MARCOS, LOS ALAMITOS LOCOS, MURRIETA MESA BEAST

The Del Oro Blackhole leaders gets their student section going during the Golden Eagles 36-0 victory over Del Campo of Fair Oaks on Friday.

You guys are the NorCal Student Section of the Week, beating out the Folsom Dog Pack, Buchanan Red Riot, and the Whitney X-Factor. What did it take to stand out as one of the best in Northern California?

Marisco: To stand out as one of the best student sections in Northern California, it took a lot of student energy and pride.  Del Oro’s football team has only had 2 away games so far this season and the crowd at both away games was better than we ever could have imagined.

What is the most memorable game you have ever attended as a member of the student section?

Marisco: The most memorable game I have ever attended was in 2018 when our football team won sections.

Favorite theme?

Marisco: USA theme

Favorite chant?

Marisco: I believe that we will win

Outside of you guys, is there one student section that you have seen or heard about where you think, “Man, that is a good student section?”

Marisco: Vista Del Lago

This is not a one-person operation. We know a lot of people took a part in this. Who would you like to thank for making Del Oro Blackhole the best this week?

Marisco: All of my fellow black hole leaders and Mrs. Larson

You guys are the So Cal Student Section of the Week, beating out the Mission Hills Growl Crowd, Los Alamitos Locos, and the Murrieta Mesa Beast. What did it take to stand out as one of the best in Southern California?

Bulldog Nation: It was because of everyone’s contribution that we stood out the most. From the Student Section Leaders to the crowd, everyone was super pumped for this game. This was our first home game of the year and the whole school was buzzing with energy way before Friday’s game. With the school’s spirit, our Section Leaders’ preparation, and their drive to show up, we created an animated atmosphere full of life.

What is the most memorable game you have ever attended as a member of the student section?

Bulldog Nation: It was Kings of Cameron 2 years ago against our rival school South Hills. The stands were filled to the max and spirit was at an all-time high. We even had a dance battle between the school’s Cheerleading Teams. Every time we scored a touchdown the whole crowd lit up, and even though we didn’t win, our spirits were never brought down. We celebrated the football’s team hard work with a powder throw at the end.

Favorite theme?

Bulldog Nation: Our favorite theme so far was a Beach Day theme. We had beach balls and leis being thrown around the crowd. Especially since it was a hot day, we were able to dress in super flowy and comfortable clothing.

Favorite chant?

Bulldog Nation: Our favorite chant is “I, I believe, I believe that I believe that we will win” We usually do that one towards the end when we are about to win and the crowd is going absolutely wild. The atmosphere is so lively and the greatest.

Outside of you guys, is there one student section that you have seen or heard about where you think, “Man, that is a good student section?”

Bulldog Nation: We’ve seen many clips from the Foothill Dungeon student section and are always amazed by how spirited they are as well as their creativity and props.

This is not a one-person operation. We know a lot of people took a part in this. Who would you like to thank for making West Covina Bulldog Nation the best this week?

Bulldog Nation: We would like to give a shout-out to our Section Leaders Katie Liu and Alberto Guevara. We’d also love to shout out to give the biggest shoutout to our Cheerleader and Band. Their positivity really helped us keep going as well as keep the atmosphere buzzing. Another shoutout goes to the Dance Team who gave us an amazing halftime performance. We seriously couldn’t have pulled it off without everyone’s contribution.

NEVADA STUDENT SECTION OF THE WEEK: Spanish Springs Cougar Den

The Cougar Den got the nomination thanks to someone posting a video of the field with the Den in the background. That’s all it took to impress me. The Den had the stands pack for their game against Reno. Whatever they did worked as the Cougars took the 21-10 victory. The voting was close, which also including Reno, but the Cougar Den took the Nevada Student Section of the Week award.
