We continue our Final Rankings in the 41 states we covered this football season.

To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is an understatement.

We had Student Section of the Week for over 10 weeks and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which one wanted it more.

Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want and marketing is key.

You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

I know Student Sections complain, but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

When we started covering Student Sections in 2015, it began with only Orange County, California. We expanded in 2017 to Southern California before expanding to other states last year. Southern California has a special place for us.

If Student Sections in SoCal didn’t bring the hype, this idea of National Student Section coverage and competition online would never come to exist. Even if we cover 41 states, we still cover Southern California in five different sections.

We start with the Inland Empire. There were several Student Sections that deserve the top spot. Add that with a couple dozen solid Student Sections in the IE that could battle for a Top 10-15 ranking in some states. Inland Empire handled this year.

I feel terrible that some Student Sections couldn’t get number one or even a Top 5 ranking, but let’s take a look at the Student Section rankings in the Inland Empire.

1. Great Oak Red Wave

For a few years, I kept saying if the Red Wave showed off their Student Section on social media on a consistent basis. Without it, they’re a Top 5 Student Section in the IE, but the Red Wave wants the top spot.

Only thing that changed with the Red Wave was the insane amount of posts on Instagram. The Red Wave showed off their amazing Student Section this year. Now they’ll battle for the top spot in SoCal and then for the National Title, but for now, they rule the IE, the Great Oak Red Wave is the 2022 Inland Empire Football Student Section of the Year!

2. Murrieta Valley Red Zone

Red Zone moved up in the rankings late in the season and it was rinse and repeat. Fantastic Student Section at Murrieta Valley. The leaders are crazy and we love crazy! I’ll definitely visit the Red Zone in the winter.

3. Rancho Cucamonga Rooters

The Rooters moved up big in the last week of the season. Like the Red Wave, they just needed some marketing and now that they have an Instagram, expect the Rooters to battle for the top spot next season. The Rooters are built tough.

4. Temescal Canyon Blue Hole

I went to visit the Blue Hole this season (long overdue by the way!) and this Student Section is insane. The powder, the leaders and the advisors are top of the line. Blue Hole can hang with the best of them.

5. Vista Murrieta Bronco Bleacher Creatures

Bronco Bleacher Creatures sets the standard in the IE. Such an amazing experience to see in person. These kids can rock it year in and year out. Top 5 is always guaranteed. I know they want to be higher. I totally understand that. Bronco Bleacher Creatures rocks!
