2022 IOWA TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

We continue our Final Rankings in the 41 states we covered this football season. 

To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is an understatement.

We had Student Section of the Week for over 10 weeks and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which one wanted it more.

Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want and marketing is key. 

You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

I know Student Sections complain, but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

Iowa was difficult to figure out this season, but this is our first year covering Iowa and we know we’ll hear from some Student Sections. We probably have a different list next season, but we know we have the number one spot right!

So many great Student Sections in this state. Let’s take a look at our Top 40 and name our state champ!

1. Dowling Catholic Maroon Crew

Maroon Crew looks weird and we like weird. The odd themes were amazing and for that, the Dowling Catholic Maroon Crew is your Iowa Football Student Section of the Year!

2. Waukee Hooligans

The Hooligans packs the stands and goes crazy rocking purple and black!

3. Ankeny Centennial

The White Out looked amazing as did their jersey night. Whatever theme this Student Section had, they rocked it!

4. Ankeny 

From the looks on Instagram, this Student Section is full of savages. Not a good time for opposing teams.

5. West Lyon

West Lyon had several nominations for Student Section of the Week. Great group of Students!
