We continue our Final Rankings in the 41 states we covered this football season.

To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is an understatement.

We had Student Section of the Week for over 10 weeks and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which one wanted it more.

Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want and marketing is key.

You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

I know Student Sections complain, but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

When we started covering Student Sections in 2015, it began with only Orange County, California. We expanded in 2017 to Southern California before expanding to other states last year. Southern California has a special place for us.

If Student Sections in SoCal didn’t bring the hype, this idea of National Student Section coverage and competition online would never come to exist. Even if we cover 41 states, we still cover Southern California in five different sections.

We continue with Orange County. Orange County is where it all started as far as our National Student Section coverage. The OC helped make this grow and this area is well respected.

In fact, there is another Instagram page dedicated to Student Sections in Orange County (@ocstudentsections). Bad blood at one point (blame that both our competitive spirit, seems fitting!), but I have the biggest respect with Jared, Chris and everyone at OC Student Sections.

My Student Section coverage in Orange County is also at www.OCVarsity.com, run by the Orange County Register. That is where the Orange County Student Section craze started over a decade ago, before I began writing for them.

As always, the OC is deep with amazing Student Sections! Some of the Student Sections outside the Top 15-20 can battle for the top spot in some states!

Let’s take a look at the OC Top 40 Rankings!

1. El Modena Rowdy Rooters

L-O-V-E, We love the ElMo Rowdy Rooters!

This is years in the making. The Rowdy Rooters keep getting better and better. They travel in large numbers and are one of a kind at home. The neon theme was the cherry on top! It helped that El Modena football had one of the best seasons in school history! The Rowdy Rooters of El Modena are on top in 2022, they’re the Orange County Student Section Champions!

2. Villa Park Black Pack

Man does this Student Section love me and man, do I love the Villa Park Black Pack! A new advisor this season, but the Black Pack didn’t skip a beat. This Student Section loves to travel!

3. JSerra Lion Nation

The only issue in the past was social media and it got a lot better. Lion Nation is insane! Behind the endzone and you can assume Lion Nation helped in almost knocking out the nation’s best football team. Lion Nation is crazy!
