2023 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

We continue our Final Rankings in all of the 50 states we covered this football season.

To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is an understatement.

We had Student Section of the Week for over 10 weeks and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which one wanted it more.

Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want and marketing is key.

You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

I know Student Sections complain, but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

When we started covering Student Sections in 2015, it began with only Orange County, California. We expanded in 2017 to Southern California before expanding to other states last year.

Southern California is the headquarters of the Student Section Report and this regions means the world to me.

This group is so deep that we have honorable mentions that would battle for a state title elsewhere. A very deep region! the top 3 Student Sections in this region will be in the Top 10 in our National Rankings at the end of the month!

Let’s check out the Top 40 Football Student Section Rankings!

2023 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

  1. Chaparral Puma Pit (Inland Empire Region)

Puma Pit really crashed the party in many ways. Not even a Top 5 jump in the IE Rankings, but this Student Section will definitely battle for a National Championship. This is an insane Student Section and it has to be insane when one of the best Student Sections in the nation happens to be in the same town as you. The Puma Pit can throw a party in the stand we will see how they can handle the voting in the in Regionals and hopefully Nationals, but for now the Chaparral Puma Pit is the 2023 Inland Empire and Southern California Football Student Section of the Year!

  1. Carlsbad Loud Crowd (San Diego)

San Diego Football Student Sections is a battle for the number two ranking because is it super tough to go over Carlsbad. The Loud Crowd is respected by many across the country as one of the nation’s best. The football definitely gets hyped up for their Student Section. The flares, confetti, the smoke, the endless cheers, you can definitely see why people have mistaken this Student Section as a college. For six time in the last seven seasons, the Carlsbad Loud Crowd is the San Diego Football Student Section of the Year!

  1. Great Oak Red Wave (Inland Empire)

The Inland Empire is a tough one with some of the best Student Sections to come in basically the same area surrounding Interstate 15 (the 15 Freeway as we SoCal peeps call it). The Red Wave has been consistantly one of the best for years and they will get their National Title one day. You can automatically put the Red Wave in the Top 10 every year at the very least. They have a Hall of Fame type leader on Don Skaggs who has turn insane and amazing Red Wave leaders. This Student Section will never go away. Amazing group of kids….amazing!

  1. Frontier Titan Noise Team (Kern/San Luis Obispo)

Frontier loved showing off their Student Section. They also loved rocking the Black and Blue. Frontier had to get pass a couple of solid Student Sections and they almost took down two of the biggest Student Section powers in the country. Respect. The Frontier Noise Team is the 2023 Kern/San Luis Obispo Football Student Section of the Year.

  1. Redondo Union Flock (Los Angeles)

The Flock was insane this football season. They followed the game and threw a party in the stands, something some Student Section tend to have a hard time mixing up. The Flock showed a lot of love for their football team (and yours truly). Redondo Union just went back-to-back as the 2023 Los Angeles Football Student Section of the Year!

  1. Servite Asylum (Orange County)

The Asylum controlled Orange County this football season. One of the craziest Student Sections in the county that has built a dynasty in the OC. The black tie theme (Formerly known as Coach Troy Thomas Theme, who is no longer at the school) and the 80’s theme was insane. This didn’t seem like an argument as the Servite Asylum is the 2023 Orange County Football Student Section of the Year!
