The time has come to start ranking 50 states that we covered this football season. 

To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is a huge huge understatement.

We had 10 Student Section of the Week winners in Idaho and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.

Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want it and marketing is key. 

You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

I know Student Sections complain but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

A Student Section that doesn’t post videos or photos of there Student Section on a consistent basis is like a tree falling with no one around. It doesn’t make any noise.

This is our third year covering Football Student Sections in Idaho. We had Owyhee in 2022 and Sugar-Salem win it in 2023.

This is a state that isn’t crazy deep with Student Sections, but you will see some fantastic Student Sections here. Idaho has the potential to be one of the best states for school spirit.

We will have 3 Student Sections in Idaho that will be voting in the Student Section playoffs that will begin soon.

So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Gem State.

2024 IDAHO FINAL TOP 30 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

RED = PLAYOFF BOUND

  1. Rocky Mountain Grizz Nation (2023 Rank: 19)

Social Media is your friend if done right and Grizz Nation worked the marketing to a T! This may not be a super large Student Section, but they promoted their school spirit on a weekly basis. Thet wanted to show off the Student Section and that’s what this Student Section competition is all about. Who ever is in charge of their social media account, you did this! On top of that, this is a fantastic Student Section! We’ll see how far they will go when they vote in the National Student Section playoffs on Monday, but for now, they’re the 2024 Idaho Football Student Section of the Year!

  1. Meridan Tribe (2023 Rank: 14)

The Tribe got better with the social media promotion and it got them a Top 5 finish. The Tribe had an all-around improvement and now they’ll be ready to vote in the National Student Section playoffs on Monday!

  1. Borah Rowdies (2023 Rank: 5)

The Rowdies is such a fitting name for this Student Section. Like many Student Sections across the country, they went bananas. We’ll see how they fare in the National Student Section playoffs on Monday!

  1. Owyhee Storm (2023 Rank: 9)

The Storm has been one of the consistent Student Section that we’ve seen over the past three years. They can pack the stands and it looks like they enjoyed the red, white and blue theme as did some of the football players.

  1. Rigby Maroon Militia (2023 Rank: 4)

Maroon Militia can pack the stands at a high school game or a high school game being played at a college game. Wherever it is, Maroon Militia will be there.
