2024 NORTHERN CALIFORNIA FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
The time has come to start ranking 50 states that we covered this football season.
To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is a huge huge understatement.
We had 11 Student Section of the Week winners in Northern California and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.
Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want it and marketing is key.
You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!
I know Student Sections complain but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.
A Student Section that doesn’t post videos or photos of there Student Section on a consistent basis is like a tree falling with no one around. It doesn’t make any noise.
This is our fourth year covering Football Student Sections in Northern California. We had Del Oro Blackhole win it in 2021 & 2022 and Vista del Lago Blue Crew in 2023.
When we started covering Student Sections in 2015, it began with only Orange County, California. We expanded in 2017 to Southern California and it was the leaders of the 2020 Turlock Dogpound that asked us when we will extend out coverage, we went to six states and then 20 states, then 40 states and now all 50 states. We appreciate the Dogpound for the encouragement.
We will have 5 Student Sections in Northern California that will be voting in the Student Section playoffs that will begin soon.
So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in NorCal.

RED = PLAYOFF BOUND
- De La Salle 12th Man (2023 Rank: 13)
De La Salle is always known for its football. Everyone knows it, but it might be time to give the 12th Man some credit because they crushed it this fall! They packed the stands and were savages in the stands! Social media marketing was on point. They loved showing off their Student Section on Instagram. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start in a few days, but for now, they’re the 2024 Northern California Football Student Section Champions!
- Folsom Dog Pack (2023 Rank: 3)
The Dog Pack is always a Top 3 in NorCal. Always one of the best. They always packed the stands and are one of the louder Student Section in NorCal. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start in a few days.
- Del Oro Blackhole (2023 Rank: 4)
Blackhole comes up with another Top 5 finish. I don’t know what it is with the Blackhole and the powder toss, but it works! We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start in a few days.
- Turlock Dogpound (2023 Rank: 29)
The Dogpound was quiet the last couple of year, but they’re back! Solid social media this fall and they showed off a solid Student Section! We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start in a few days.
- Laguna Creek Cardinal Crew (2023 Rank: 2)
Cardinal Crew crashed the party last fall and now they’re just doing what they do as they get another Top 5 finish. They pack the stands and go nuts for their football team! We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start in a few days.
