2024 NORTHERN CALIFORNIA FOOTBALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS

In 2015, yours truly began covering Student Sections in Orange County, California. We expanded to Southern California in 2017 and in 2021, we added four more states and added 15 more states. We went to 40 states two years ago.

We went to all 50 states in winter of 2023. No one has ever done that before…until now!

This is still a one-man operation for the most part, but we have some help with some partners on Instagram like OC Student Sections, Stadium Geeks, Maryland Student Section Rater, NorCal Student Sections and many more.

I know that Student Sections have a lot of work to do to get the students to the games to cheer on their classmates and go along with the theme and make sure they don’t cause trouble. These student sections deserve recognition.

We will kick off the Student Section season with Preseason Football Student Section Rankings. REMEMBER, this is a PREVIEW. It is merely a prediction. The real rankings come out in November or December. 

If you feel your student section isn’t ranked high enough or not ranked at all, let us know and we’ll keep a close eye on them.

Every week, we will also have Student Section of the Week for each state. Once you win Student Section of the Week, you can’t win it again, but you still have to battle for the top spot in your state and perhaps the Nation as we will also name a Football Student Section National Champion. 

We continue with the 2024 Football Student Section Season with a preview of Nothern California.

NorCal is the reason why we expanded outside of Southern California thanks to the Turlock Dogpound. There’s alot of great school spirit in upper California. There is also some schools that don’t get as much love as other NorCal Student Sections and our goal is to give them the love they deserve. We have definitely found some more NorCal schools, which makes this list tougher and tougher every year. So many schools with great school spirit up north!

What also helps is that we get the help from NorCal Student Sections. They do terrific work in highlighting the best of the best Student Section in NorCal. Give them a follow on Instagram (@NorCalStudentSections on Instagram).

Last Football season, we had Vista del Lago Blue Crew as the top Football Student Section in Northern California. The Blue Crew can pack the stands and showed us that they were ready to go on Instagram. Social media game was on point for the Blue Crew. It will be tough to repeat with several powerhouse Student Sections in this region, but the Blue Crew will be ready to battle!

In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for Northern California, we have to go with the Edison Maroon Madhouse. We just discovered the Maroon Madhouse and had a conversation with them. The vibe I got was that they’re hungry and want to be one of the big dawgs in NorCal. We’ll have to see how they fare in 2024.

  1. Laguna Creek Cardinal Crew

The Cardinal Crew made such a big impression on me and I feel this isn’t new to Cardinal Crew. This is one of the best Student Sections in NorCAL and I expect nothing less in 2024. The Cardinal Crew will battle for the top spot and battle for a National Title!
