We continue our Final Rankings in all of the 50 states we covered this football season. 

To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is an understatement.

We had Student Section of the Week for over 10 weeks and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which one wanted it more.

Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want and marketing is key. 

You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

I know Student Sections complain, but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

When we started covering Student Sections in 2015, it began with only Orange County, California. We expanded in 2016 to Southern California before expanding to other states last year.

We had Murrieta Mesa Beast taking the SoCal title in 2016, Vista Murrieta Bronco Bleacher Creatures in 2017, Rancho Cucamonga Rooters in 2018, Los Alamitos Locos in 2019, Murrieta Valley Red Zone in 2021, Carlsbad Loud Crowd in 2022 and Chapparral Puma Pit in 2023.

Southern California is the headquarters of the Student Section Report and this regions means the world to me.

This group is so deep that we have honorable mentions that would battle for a state title elsewhere. A very deep region!

We will have 5 Student Sections in Southern California that will be voting in the Student Section playoffs that will begin soon.

2024 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA FOOTBALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS

RED = PLAYOFF BOUND

  1. Great Oak Red Wave (2023 Rank: 3)

Red Wave knows the assignment. In fact, I’m pretty sure they invented the assignment. The Red Wave packs the stands every home game and goes insane! They enjoy the music at the most appropriate times, something that some Student Sections struggle to do, they go nuts when it’s time to rattle their opponent and lost their minds when the Wolfpack score! The Red Wave knows how to work social media and always love to show off their school spirit. We’ll see how they will do when they get ready to vote in the National Football Student Section playoffs with the top seed in the Southwest Regio, but one thing is for sure, the Great Oak Red Wave are the Inland Empire Football Student Section Champions!

  1. Aliso Niguel Den (2023 Rank: NR)

The Den turn it up a bunch of notches! I didn’t think they would get this crazy, but they did and had control of the OC all year! They were one of two SoCal Student Sections to win the National Student Section of the Week! Great group of kids and they wanted this and got it! We’ll see how they will do when they get ready to vote in the National Football Student Section playoffs, but this was a no brainer, the Aliso Niguel Den are the Orange County Football Student Section Champions!

  1. Carlsbad Loud Crowd (2023 Rank: 2)

This was a close one, but the Loud Crowd held on for another San Diego Football Student Section title! Pack house and loud and insane! The pregame stuff they do is amazing and that continues with the fog machine, powder toss, flares and confetti. We’ll see how they will do when they get ready to vote in the National Football Student Section playoffs, but for the fifth time in six years, the Carlsbad Loud Crowd are the San Diego Football Student Section Champions!

  1. Millikan Mob (2023 Rank: 13)

The Mob went wild in the stands and they had every reason to with their Rams beating Long Beach Poly for the first time in 15 years and watching them win their first Moore League title in 51 years! It was a historic season on the field and now in the stands. We’ll see how they will do when they get ready to vote in the National Football Student Section playoffs, but for now, the Millikan Mob are the Los Angeles Football Student Section Champions!

  1. Bakersfield Drill Crew (2023 Rank: 38)

The Drill Crew worked social media way better than anyone else in this region. When you have as much fun as this Student Section, you can’t blame them for showing off their school spirit! We’ll see how they will do when they get ready to vote in the National Football Student Section playoffs, but one thing is for sure, the Bakersfield Drill Crew are the Kern/San Luis Obispo Football Student Section Champions!
