2018-2019 Los Angeles Basketball Student Section Top 20 Rankings

2018-2019 SOCAL STUDENT SECTION TOP 20 LOS ANGELES BASKETBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

(Spacial thanks to @LACourtReport for their input in the LA Top 20)

1. Bishop Montgomery of Torrance (Swaglet)

This Los Angeles Student Section dynasty is on top!

The Swaglet shows up when needed, packs the student section to the brim and they rock the gym with chants and cheers as well as crazy outfits!

“Thank you for the honor of being #1!,” The Swaglet said in a statement. “We take pride in our athletes, school, and each other. We look forward  to carrying on the tradition of being the best we can be!!”

The Swaglet matched the intensity on the court displayed by their Knights and for that, they are the 2019 Los Angeles Basketball Student Section of the year!

2. St. John Bosco of Bellflower (The Tribe)

The Tribe pack the gym during Trinity League play and they got their monies worth as they got to see their Braves share the Trinity League title and play in the CIF-SS Open Division. This is only the beginning.

“It’s been a fun year cheering our brothers on,” The Tribe said in a statement. “Can’t wait for next year where we’ll be even louder, bigger, and better than any other student section out there”

3. Chaminade of West Hills (The Cage)

The Cage has been a consistent student section powerhouse and they rocked the basketball gym as their Eagles battled to get to the postseason. This is a weird, but electric student section and extra prep work is key when coming to their area.

“We’ve been the best student section in the Valley since 2007,” The Cage said in a statement. “Other teams know that when they enter The Cage!”

4. Crespi of Encino (The Crespi Cabana)

The Crespi Cabana is a crazy and weird group, but it’s ok since that is a good thing. The Cabana go wild and when you have a basketball team like the Celts, you have to go wild. Another successful season for the Celts and the Cabana!

5. Thousand Oaks (Green Hole)

You don’t want to mess with the Green Hole, a tremendous student section that showed a lot of love and support for their Lancers and has shown everyone that this community can bounce back up and unite as one.

6. Los Altos of Hacienda Heights (The Splash Zone)

The Splash Zone enjoyed their human highlight reel on the court in Jarod Lucas. When you have the CIF-SS all-time scoring champion, you have no other choice, but to go wild! Plus, this is another weird student section and I love weird.

7. Loyola of Los Angeles (The Loyola Pride)

The Loyola Pride definitely enjoyed a fantastic season from their Cubs and showed off their school pride with loud chants and cheers. This student section backs the gym in blue and white!

8. Harvard-Westlake of Studio City (The Fanatics)

The Fanatics are addicted to winning and you kind of have to be addicted to winning when your basketball programs is one of the best year after year. Plus, I like the name of this student section, the Fanatics.

9. St. Francis of La Canada (The Dungeon)

One of my favorite student sections in the LA area, the Dungeon is a unique and loud student section and that must have been a boost for St. Francis as they battled in a tough Mission League.

10.  Norte Dame of Sherman Oaks (The Castle)

The Castle had a big year on the football field and they duplicated it on the hardwood. The Castle knew that the Knights are in a tough Mission League, so the rowdy student section came prepared this year.

11. Mayfair of Lakewood (Storm)

The Storm was rewarded with many gifts. They watch the Monsoons take the CIF-SS Division 2AA title while enjoying guys like Michael Ofoegbu and Josh Christopher who put on a show for their fans!

12. Sierra Canyon of Chatsworth Trailblazers

Being how dominant this basketball program is year after year, you tend to forget their student section. This student section has a hard time catching up with their basketball squad, but they still rock it nevertheless.

13. Brentwood School of Los Angeles (Eagles Nest)

This is a crazy student section and despite seeing their Eagles leave in the CIF-SS Division 1 quarterfinals, they definitely enjoyed the back-to-back CIF Titles led by Braelee Albert.

14. Camarillo (Scorpion Cyclone)

The Scorpion Cyclone student section enjoyed a fantastic season from the Scorpions, led by Jaime Jaquez. Jaquez entertain the fans as Camarillo went 25-4 record and a Coastal Canyon League title.

15. Valencia of Magic Mountain (Vikings Nation)

Vikings Nation can rock it anywhere. At the stadium or in the gym. It’s no wonder the Vikings have an extra chip on their shoulder the entire year.

16. La Serna of Whittier (The Kingdom)

The Kingdom is very wild student section and they get even more wild when the Lancers take the Del Rio title. The Kingdom fits well in the stands and on the court.

17. Viewpoint of Calabasas (The Navy)

This savage like student section probably doesn’t know this, but about 6 years ago, they had a problem with me. Of course these kids weren’t there, so I’ll definitely let this slide. The Navy is a very rowdy student section and stood behind the Patriots despite the rebuilding season.

18. Fairfax of Los Angeles (Lions Den)

The best team in the CIF-Los Angeles CIty Section also has the best student section in the city section. That happens when you have Ethan Anderson on your side…oh and winning the CIF-LACS Open Division title helps too!

19. Bishop Amat of La Puente (Dawgpound)

The basketball didn’t quite match up with football at Bishop Amat, but that doesn’t stop the Dawgpound from going wild for their classmates!

20. Calabasas (The Pack)

The Pack did what the name states, packed the gym for the Marmonte League Champs. The Pack is a consistent student section. They never go away!
