- 2024 IOWA FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
The time has come to start ranking 50 states that we covered this football season.
To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is a huge huge understatement.
We had 11 Student Section of the Week winners in Iowa and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.
Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want it and marketing is key.
You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!
I know Student Sections complain but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.
A Student Section that doesn’t post videos or photos of there Student Section on a consistent basis is like a tree falling with no one around. It doesn’t make any noise.
This is our third year covering Football Student Sections in Iowa. We had Dowling Catholic Maroon Crew winning it in 2022 and 2023.
Maroon Crew is a fantastic Student Section, but a three-peat is going to be difficult. We can’t wait to see if someone will take the top spot.
We will have 3 Student Sections in Iowa that will be voting in the Student Section playoffs that will begin soon.
So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Hawkeye State.
2024 IOWA FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
RED = PLAYOFF BOUND
- Waukee (2023 Rank: NR)
This Student Section is weird, but that’s the goal for all Student Section. They can also pack the stands and go nuts for their football team. They showed off their Student Section on a consistent basis this fall and got their reward. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon, but for now, they’re the Iowa Football Student Section of the Year!
- Ankeny Centennial (2023 Rank: 3)
This might be one of the larger Student Sections in the state. If they promoted their Student Section on Instagram on a more consistent basis, I think they would’ve taken the top spot. We had a very very hard time looking for photos/videos of this Student Section all season. Regardless, this is still one of the best in the state. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.
- Wahlert (2023 Rank: NR)
Considered one of the best Student Sections this year by their own Students, they definitely a strong case for it. They not only pack the stands, but they are a crazy and rowdy bunch. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.
- Dowling Catholic Maroon Crew (2023 Rank: 1)
While they couldn’t pull off the threepeat, the Maroon Crew still impressed me as they return to the Top 5. They always pack the stands and have plenty to cheer for.
- Iowa City West (2023 Rank: 36)
This is a messy Student Section, but from the looks of it, a rowdy Student Section as well as they break into the Top 5.

- Arrowhead (2023 Rank: 2)
Arrowhead Red Out Theme looks pretty dope! They aren’t afraid to hurt your feelings if you aren’t cheering. They want hand on deck and I appreciate how much the Gators want to be the best. Well, they are the best and we’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon, but for now, they’re the Wisconsin Football Student Section of the Year!
- Kimberly Red Swarm (2023 Rank: 1)
The Red Swarm rocked the stands and show up ready to go with any theme. White Out, Red Out, Whatever Out, the Red Swarm comes ready to go! We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.
- Oak Creek (2023 Rank: 3)
Oak Creek shows up big and packs the house. Another Top 5 finish for another fantastic Student Section! We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.

I feel bad for any opponent in the red zone as they try to get in the endzone or kick a field goal with the Mukwonago Student Section behind the endzone. Ready to rattle, this Student Section steps up for their football team!

- Eisenhower Zoo (2023 Rank: 30)
The Zoo might have the most creative Instagram. They make sure everyone in the Student Section is involved and gets credit for cheering on their football team. They improved their social media game by a lot and that is why they’re getting the top spot this season! Well done to the social media team! We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon, but for now, they’re the Michigan Football Student Section of the Year!
- Central Catholic Shamrock Nation (2023 Rank: 11)
Shamrock Nation can rock the stands while also filling it to the brim! They also love to show off their Student Section on Instagram, which caught my eye and left a good impression. This looks like a fun Student Section to watch! We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.
- Chippewa Valley Red Zone (2023 Rank: 6)

This state has four super solid Student Sections, but we noticed some other fantastic Student Sections that can possibly take down the Mount Rushmore of Minnesota Student Sections.

2024 MINNESOTA FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
RED = PLAYOFF BOUND
- Edina (2023 Rank: 3)
This was a no brainer! Edina has the biggest Student Section in the state and they are a problem for any opponent, especially if they’re going to try and rattle you! This looks like a loud group of kids that love wearing green! We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon, but for now, they’re the Minnesota Football Student Section of the Year!
- Maple Grove Party Zone (2023 Rank: 14)
The Party Zone rocked social media and showed off a fantastic Student Section that packed the stands. The promotion on Instagram helped them move up big this fall. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.
- Wayzata Trojan Nation (2023 Rank: 2)
We didn’t much of Wayzata compared to last season, but from the few times we saw them, it seemed like it was business as usual for Trojan Nation! We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.
- Minnetonka Blue Crew (2023 Rank: 4)
The Blue Crew packed the stands as always. This is one of the bigger Student Sections and one of the more consistent ones that post on Instagram. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.
- Forest Lake Bleacher Creatures (2023 Rank: NR)
After not being ranked last year, the Bleacher Creatures showed up big and they packed the house while making a mess as they get in the Top 5 this fall.

This state is loaded with fantastic Student Sections and it’s not like there’s an obvious pick for number one. It’s anyone’s game to take the top spot in this state!

- Prospect Underground (2023 Rank: 13)
The Underground is ironic because there is no secret to this Student Section because they love to show off their school spirit on Instagram! Packed stands and they go nuts! It’s the perfect combo of a top notch Student Section. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon, but for now, they’re the Illinois Football Student Section of the Year!
- Maine South Hawk Nation (2023 Rank: 5)
Man, what a stacked Student Section! This video is super impressive and I’m sure a huge distraction for opponents. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.
- Lincoln Way West (2023 Rank: 2)
Lincoln Way West can pack the stands, but that seems like a weekly thing. This Student Section can rock the stands! We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.
- Wheaton Warrenville South (2023 Rank: NR)
This Student Section is lit. They pack the stands and shake up the stands as we see from other Instagram post. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.

The Blue Fan Group once again packed the stands as they remain in the Top 5. St. Charles North is very consistent.

This state is loaded with insane and amazing Student Sections. It helps when a TV channel in Indianapolis where the best Student Section in that region gets a banner. That has open the floodgates in regards to school spirit. Hats off to WISH-TV The Zone.

I’ve been waiting for a good time to put Fisher at the top and Thank God that Anthony Calhoun (known as AC) from WISH-TV picked Fishers as The Zone Student Section Champions because it opened the door for me to put the Tigers as the best in Indiana. The Tiger Cage always packs the stand and they have a blast in said stands! Good luck trying to call a play if Fishers is in your way. The Tiger Cage will look to vote in the National Student Section playoffs as they look for the National Championship banner, but for now, they’re the 2024 Indiana Football Student Section of the Year!

What they lack in size, they make up for rowdiness and craziness…you get what I mean. This Student Section will let you know how much they support their football team even if you don’t want to know. - 2024 OHIO FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
The time has come to start ranking 50 states that we covered this football season.
To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is a huge huge understatement.
We had 12 Student Section of the Week winners in Ohio and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.
Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want it and marketing is key.
You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!
I know Student Sections complain but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.
A Student Section that doesn’t post videos or photos of there Student Section on a consistent basis is like a tree falling with no one around. It doesn’t make any noise.
This is our third year covering Football Student Sections in Ohio. We had St. Edward Madhouse winning it in 2022 and Centerville Herd in 2023.
This is one of the deeper states when it comes to Student Sections. So many great Student Sections in Ohio.
We will have 5 Student Sections in Ohio that will be voting in the Student Section playoffs that will begin soon.
So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Buckeye State.
2024 OHIO FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
RED = PLAYOFF BOUND
- Centerville Herd (2023 Rank: 1)
It was a close one, but the Herd is back on top. We didn’t see them as much on social media compared to last year, but it was as consistent as the other Student Sections in Ohio. The Herd packs the stands and the volume of students matches the noise volume as well. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon, but for now, they’re the back-to-back Ohio Football Student Section of the Year!
- Elder (2023 Rank: NR)
This is a solid Student Section. One you can’t ignore. If they had a consistent Instagram account that showed off their Student Section, I’m almost positive they would have taken the number one spot, easily. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.
- Mason Blackhole (2023 Rank: NR)
The Blackhole can pack the stands and they look pretty intense. You don’t want to mess with the football team because you’ll have to deal with the Blackhole. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.
- Archbishop Hoban Jungle (2023 Rank: 3)
The Jungle is alive and especially in this shot. Liking the lens shot they went here. They can pack the stands and break in the Top 5. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.
- St. Xavier Bomb Squad (2023 Rank: NR)
While they are a smaller Student Section compared to the Top Student Sections in this state, they make up for it with its endless amount of insanity and crazy antics in the stands. Definitely worthy of a Top 5 finish. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.

For awhile, we had a hard time figuring out this state, but we have discovered some solid Student Sections. This has been a two Student Section race for the top spot and we hope that this fall is going to be very interesting as we see several Student Sections battle for the top spot.
Last Football season, we had the Bryant Swarm as the top Football Student Section in Arkansas. The Swarm battled all season last fall for the top spot and snuck in for the top ranking. It will be tough to do this again, so the Swarm will have to double up on showing off their Student Section.
In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for Arkansas, we have to go with Jonesboro Dawg Pound. The Dawg Pound has been considered a super fantastic Student Section, but they don’t show it off anymore. It’s been a secret and they need to show off their school spirit this fall to get their reward as one of the best Student Sections in Arkansas.
Will the Dawg Pound take the top spot in the state or will the Swarm take another one in the Razorback State? Let’s find out.

I feel like we haven’t figured this state out yet. They love their football and everyone in America knows it, but we haven’t yet caught all of the Student Sections here in Texas and we hope we can catch that his fall.
Last Football season, we had the George Ranch Rowdies as the top Football Student Section in Texas. The Rowdies know that it will be tough to repeat in Texas, especially if we discover more Student Sections in this state. On top of that, they finished on top over Allen Eagles Zone. Can they do it again?
In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for Texas, we have to go with Texas City. They’re off to a solid start this fall and if they keep showing off their school spirit, they will finish with the best of them this fall.

Last Football season, we had the St. Michael-Albertville as the top Football Student Section in Minnesota. St. Michael-Albertville will have to prove itself once again as other Student Sections will battle with them for the top spot.

They’re off to a solid start this fall and if they keep showing off their school spirit, they will finish with the best of them this fall.

Last Football season, we had the Edmond Memorial Dogpound as the top Football Student Section in Oklahoma. The Dogpound are a bunch of savages and love to show off their Student Section. This is one of those Student Sections that battle for a National Championship.

The Jungle is well respected. When we were only covering Southern California, we always heard about how crazy the Jungle was, but we haven’t seen it yet. In 2015, yours truly began covering Student Sections in Orange County, California. We expanded to Southern California in 2017 and in 2021, we added four more states and added 15 more states. We went to 40 states two years ago.
We went to all 50 states in winter of 2023. No one has ever done that before…until now!
This is still a one-man operation for the most part, but we have some help with some partners on Instagram like OC Student Sections, Stadium Geeks, Maryland Student Section Rater, NorCal Student Sections and many more.
I know that Student Sections have a lot of work to do to get the students to the games to cheer on their classmates and go along with the theme and make sure they don’t cause trouble. These student sections deserve recognition.
We will kick off the Student Section season with Preseason Football Student Section Rankings. REMEMBER, this is a PREVIEW. It is merely a prediction. The real rankings come out in November or December.
If you feel your student section isn’t ranked high enough or not ranked at all, let us know and we’ll keep a close eye on them.
Every week, we will also have Student Section of the Week for each state. Once you win Student Section of the Week, you can’t win it again, but you still have to battle for the top spot in your state and perhaps the Nation as we will also name a Football Student Section National Champion.
We continue with the 2024 Football Student Section Season with a preview of Missouri.
We are noticing more and more Student Sections in Missouri, but it is not enough and we hope we see more Student Sections in this state this fall.
Last Football season, we had the Staley Nest as the top Football Student Section in Missouri. The Nest cruised last season to take the top spot. They showed off their school spirit every week on Instagram, but we know they have some Student Sections ready for the challenge.
In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for Missouri, we have to go with the Central Dawgpound. This Student Section is getting more and more involved and have mentioned it several times that they want the top spot badly. I am feeling that vibe and hopefully can prove that they should be considered one of the best.
Will the Dawgpound take the top spot in the state or will the Nest makes this another easy one in the Show Me State? Let’s find out.

We had 12 Student Section of the Week winners in Texas and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.
Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want it and marketing is key.
You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

This is our second year covering Football Student Sections in Texas.
We hope to get a solid grasp of the Student Section scene deep in the heart of Texas, but there are so many Student Sections. There’s some Student Sections that didn’t make the Top 40 that would make the Top 10-15 in a lot of other states. This is the deepest state when it comes to Student Sections!
The Texas Football Student Section Champion will move on to Regionals in hopes to get the National Championship banner as voting will now get involved!

2023 TEXAS FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
- George Ranch Rowdies
You have to be a pretty good Student Section to be on top of Texas, but the Rowdies earned this. They are consistent on social media and always look like a rowdy crowd from the photos and videos on Instagram. Will the Rowdies be on top during the Regional and National Student Section voting? We’ll see, but for now the George Ranch Rowdies are the 2023 Texas Football Student Section of the Year!
- Allen Eagle Zone
This has to be one of the largest Student Sections in the state. The Eagle Zone doesn’t mess around. They definitely fit that Texas football vibe everyone thinks of.
- Katy Jungle
The Jungle looks like one of the weirder groups in the state, but they can get rowdy and love to show off their school spirit.
- Westlake
Westlake looks like a solid but savage like Student Section. They’ll find a way to rattle the opponent without getting in too much trouble.
- The Woodlands Highlander Hype
Highlander Hype is a solid group and to be in the Top 5 in one of the deeper states when it comes to school spirit is amazing, but this is expected at The Woodlands.

2023 MISSOURI FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
- Staley Nest
The Nest really wanted this and let us know. They were consistent on social media and shared some amazing themes. The Nest was mighty this Fall and we’ll see how they fare in Regionals and maybe Nationals, but one thing is certain, they are the 2023 Missouri Football Student Section Champions!
- Nixa
This Student Section always hangs with the best of them and this season was no different. Nixa is a rowdy bunch rocking the red in the stands!
- Lee’s Summit West 12th Man
The 12th Man is a fitting name to this Student Section. One of the larger Student Sections in the state and they looked intimidating when looking at the photos.
- Fox Tribe
The Tribe can hang with the best of the best in this state. Don’t hang around near the Tribe or things will get messy for you.
- Liberty North Navy
The Navy was pretty colorful in the stands. Granted the theme in the photo we are using portrays that, but this Student Section packed the stands didn’t bore anyone during the game.

2023 ARKANSAS FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
- Bryant Swarm
The Swarm finished really strong to defend their title. As always, the Swarm showed up and showed off their amazing Student Section on social media. They really had to battle for the top spot and this was a close one. Back-to-back, the Bryant Swarm is the 2023 Arkansas Football Student Section of the Year!
- Bentonville West Den
The Den really battled for the top spot and it looked for a while that they were the best. The Den is still one of the best in the state and the top spot will be there sooner than later. Much love for the Den!
- Har-ber Blue Crew
The Blue Crew once again packed the stands and it was business as usual with another Top 5 finish in the Student Section rankings. They can rock a White Out Theme despite being the Blue Crew.
- Cabot Panther Pit
The Panther Pit packed the stands and always hangs in the top of the Student Section rankings. Hard to miss this Student Section in those neon green vest.
- Jonesboro Dawg Pound
The Dawg Pound bounce back and I can see them battling for a top spot this winter and perhaps 2024 Fall Student Section Rankings. This Student Section always rocks the stands.

2023 OKLAHOMA FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
- Edmond Memorial Dogpound
This was a no brainier. The Dogpound wanted this all season and let us know who was the best from start to finish. Pack stands regardless of how the game went. The Dogpound was ride or die this fall and they were savages in the stands. We’ll see how easy it will be in Regionals and maybe Nationals, but for now, the Edmond Memorial Dogpound is your 2023 Oklahoma Football Student Section of the Year!
- Bishop Kelley Crazy Corner
Crazy Corner social media game was amazing this football season. They showed off a great Student Section almost every week and knew how to market themselves. It was a mess in the stands, but it was worth in that Crazy Corner.
- Union Hawks Nest
The Hawks Nest rocked social media and showed off an electric Student Section. Camo Out or Camo Theme was perfect for Union.
- Broken Arrow Jungle
The Jungle had some of the best leaders in the country, but I’m sure it is an easy task to get the Jungle going. It is always a wild one inside the Jungle.
- Edmond Santa Fe Wolfpack
The Wolfpack had a solid football team and it gave them plenty to cheer about and you can tell with the pack stands.

2023 KANSAS FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
- Kapaun Mt. Carmel Boneyard
This felt like an easy choice, but the Boneyard rocked it in the stands and on social media. This choice wasn’t just my choice. I ran into Blast Athletics a couple weeks ago and shared that the Boneyard is the best one out there in Kansas. Solid second opinion. We will see how the Boneyard handles Regionals and Nationals as Kapaun Mt. Carmel Boneyard is the 2023 Kansas Football Student Section of the Year!
- Eisenhower Zoo
The Zoo moved up thanks to our Kansas correspondent and it was a good catch. This Student Section loves their football team and loves America it seems. A rowdy and solid Student Section.
- Olathe South Birdhouse
The Birdhouse social media game was amazing and they loved showing off their Student Section. They made a mess of the football stands, but it was definitely worth it!
- Bishop Carroll
Bishop Carroll moved up in the rankings thanks to our correspondent. While this Student Sections weak spot is marketing themselves on social media, they make up for it by how crazy they are in the stands and so much so that you hear about word of mouth.

The Maniacs can pack the stands and go nuts. So many amazing themes that they rocked while going crazy for their football team.

2023 MINNESOTA FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
- St. Michael-Albertville
Social Media was amazing and many have mention how solid this Student Section is. So many amazing themes that it is tough to pick one. We’ll see how far St. Michael-Albertville will go in the Regional and maybe National vote, but for now, St. Michael-Albertville is the 2023 Minnesota Football Student Section of the Year!
- Wayzata Trojan Nation
Trojan Nation would win a state title in almost every state. One of the best in the nation for sure. White Out Theme was insane. Fantastic band, football team and Student Section.
- Edina
Edina Student Section can pack the stands and hang with the best of the best. Rocking the Green make Edina look insane and insane is exactly what the best Student Sections are looking for. Expect this Student Section to move up next season and perhaps for the Winter season.
- Minnetonka Blue Crew
Red, White and Blue or Blue Out, the Blue Crew can rock the Blue anyplace, anytime. Minnetonka is a every year contender for the Student Section state title.
- Cloquet Crazies
The Crazies showed up and showed out. Black Out Theme is a good look for the Crazies. Another fantastic season for the Cloquet Student Section.
