You guys are the Arizona Student Section of the Week. What did it take to stand out as one of the best in Arizona?

Boulder Creek: It took not only creative themes but genuine school spirit. Our goal is to hype up every student and parent during every part of the game, and we always meet that goal.

What is the most memorable game you have ever attended as a member of the Boulder Creek  Student Section?

Boulder Creek: Every homecoming game I have ever been to has shown how much pride we have in being jags. Specifically the game we beat Chap. We never doubted ourselves and showed support by decorating the student section, repping school colors, and cheering them on which resulted in a win against one of the best teams in the state.

Favorite theme?

Boulder Creek: Hawaiian night is a personal favorite. We all get dressed in Hawaiian shirts, leis, hula skirts etc. & pack the stands while volleying beach balls around.

Favorite chant?

Boulder Creek: Any chant! Seeing our cheerleaders and pommies chant back to us is always a plus.

Outside of you guys, is there one student section that you have seen or heard about where you think, “Man, that is a good student section?”

Boulder Creek: Highland for sure, every away game I have been to at their school the cheering never stops and the show out is incredible.

This is not a one-person operation. We know alot of people took a part in this. Who would you like to thank for making the Boulder Creek Student Section the best this week?

Boulder Creek: Our student government, mascots, football, cheer & pom all take a part in this. Most importantly those who consistently show up to games to cheer on our boys.

Other Nominees: Desert Mountain Wolf Den of Scottsdale, Higley Knightmare of Gilbert, Cactus of Glendale

What is the most memorable game you have ever attended as a member of the Clovis West Student Section?

Clovis West: The most memorable game was All Clovis Week 2018 specifically at the end of the game when the student section bumped it to Mariah Carrey’s All I want for Christmas is You.

This is not a one-person operation. We know a lot of people took part in this. Who would you like to thank for making the Clovis West Student Section the best this week?

Clovis West: Gannon Perez our ASB Spirit Commissioner. Jacob Dvorak our ASB Clubs. Our Spirit Committee. Our cheer team & our Clovis West Clubs. Everyone involved in halftime skits & homecoming festivities.

You guys are the Southern California Student Section of the Week. What did it take to stand out as one of the best in SoCal?

Aztec Army: We had a bit of a rough start to our student section, mainly because coming back from COVID after 1.5 years pretty much forced us to start from scratch. That is why we decided to add “Aztec Army Junior” to our student section leaders; since then, we have always had rocking student sections.

What is the most memorable game you have ever attended as a member of the Aztec Army?

Aztec Army: It’s typical to have huge student sections to football games, but what really makes student sections memorable is when they follow Aztec Army to other sporting events; and so, when nearly 500 students came to our rival volleyball game, “The battle over Cook Street,” we were absolutely stunned. Our boys football team even showed up with their chests painted, and helped to make our gym go absolutely crazy loud; our volleyball team sweeping made the night even better.

Favorite theme?

Aztec Army: Blackouts just cannot be beat. Even though it is an incredibly basic idea, everyone participates, and when we can get our whole student body to follow our theme, we look and feel all the more united.

Favorite chant?

Aztec Army: Every game, our student section does the chant: “Let’s get a little bit rowdy”. Everyone in the crowd stands, and puts their arms around one another, and jumps left and right while screaming the chant; it is one of our loudest chants, and absolutely gets everyone involved.

Outside of you guys, is there one student section that you have seen or heard about where you think, “Man, that is a good student section?”

Aztec Army: Our football team played Dixie High School the second week of the year, after coming back from their long travel, our players came back with stories of how united their stands were. They included the band and cheer into their overall hype, and ultimately made the stands very loud; we aspire to work with our band and cheer the way they did, and as the year has progressed created chants that include all three groups, as demonstrated by them.

This is not a one-person operation. We know a lot of people took a part in this. Who would you like to thank for making the Aztec Army the best this week?

Aztec Army: First and foremost we have to thank our 5 Aztec Army Leaders – Bella, Caleb, Kameron, Molly and Santi – and our 5 Aztec Junior Leaders- August, Bella, Ben, Charlie, and Jack, who were in the stands; and our two leaders who played down on the field, yet still found time to cheer back: Hanyi and Lane. Beyond that, we have to thank our Amazing student section, for always showing up, and advisor Mr.Keuilian, for helping us get things done.

Other Nominees: Oxnard 12th Man, San Marcos Blue Crew, Trabuco Hills Stampede of Mission Viejo

You guys are the Oregon Student Section of the Week. What did it take to stand out as one of the best in Oregon?

Tiger Army: We are very proud to be this week’s Oregon Student Section of the week. Tiger army shows up week in and week out to support our athletes and community and it is an honor to be recognized for that.

What is the most memorable game you have ever attended as a member of the Tiger Army Student Section?

Tiger Army: A game that comes to mind was the Tigard vs Lake Oswego home football game in 2019. Both of us were two of the top teams in the state, but our Tigers came out on top in a close one. Our student section packed the stadium from bottom to top, decked out in gold, and making our presence known for all four quarters.

Favorite theme?

Tiger Army: A theme that comes to mind is definitely the Neon out which always takes place the week of homecoming. Students’ bright colors illuminate the stands and make for a very involved and energetic environment.

Favorite chant?

Tiger Army: Chants are such a large part of our student section, but if we had to pick just one it would definitely be our beloved “Trucking” chant. Led by the cheerleaders, it gets everyone amped to be at the game.

T-R-U-C-K keep on trucking all the way!

Outside of you guys, is there one student section that you have seen or heard about where you think, “Man, that is a good student section?”

Tiger Army: Though we know tensions can rise among those on the field and those in the stands, we always tip our hats to a strong fellow student section. One that comes to mind is that of our cross-town rival Tualatin. We know that the energy will be brought from both sides of the stands come week 9, as it is year in and year out.

This is not a one-person operation. We know alot of people took a part in this. Who would you like to thank for making the the Tiger Army the best this week?

Tiger Army: Tiger Army is made up of all students, staff, family, and community members that attend each Friday night football game. We would like to thank everyone who brings their tiger pride every single week to cheer and support our community and our teams.
