You guys are the Arizona Student Section of the Week. What did it take to stand out as one of the best in Arizona?

Dog Pound: Social media has been the biggest tool in bringing out the spirit within our community. Not only is the promotion of our sporting events necessary for home games, but also at our away games too. Last week, we had over 100 students at an away football game. This was from the help of this year’s unofficial slogan for Dog Pound, “Show up, or Transfer”. To be the best, we all rely on each other to show up and get loud.

What is the most memorable game you have ever attended as a member of the Dog Pound?

Dog Pound: Our home volleyball game on September 15th was one of the best turnouts we’ve seen so far. It was memorable because it was the first time we have all been able to come together and cheer for our saints. It was truly heartwarming seeing so much spirit in our gym.

Favorite theme?

Dog Pound: Our favorite theme so far this year was the purple out. It was very cool to see all of Dog Pound in our school colors.

Favorite chant?

Dog Pound: When the opposing team makes a mistake, it’s common to hear a booming “You can’t do that” chant coming from NDP bleachers.

Outside of you guys, is there one student section that you have seen or heard about where you think, “Man, that is a good student section?”

Dog Pound: Chaparral does a wonderful job with their student section. We look up to their strength in numbers and school spirit at sporting events.

This is not a one-person operation. We know alot of people took a part in this. Who would you like to thank for making the Dog Pound the best this week?

Dog Pound: A special thank you goes out to our Dog Pound Leaders for constantly showing up, and our Dog Pound supervisor Ms. Melnychenko for controlling the Chaos and making this all possible. And thank you to the NDP community for showing up and showing out.

Other Nominees: Chaparral Birdcage of Scottsdale, Highland of Gilbert, Corona del Sol Tribe of Tempe

You guys are the Nevada Student Section of the Week. What did it take to stand out as one of the best in Nevada?

G-Block: We did it because our entire student section puts in effort and energy before and during the game.  Our long tradition of chants and proud support makes us stand out as a student section.

What is the most memorable game you have ever attended as a member of G-Block?

G-Block: The most memorable game I have ever attended as a member of G-Block is the 2021 game against St. Louis because, after not having football for two years, we were all hyped to be back. There is no matching the energy of that game.  We turned a high school crowd into a college stadium.

Favorite theme?

G-Block: Our favorite theme is almost unanimously the Hawaiian themed games. We love the fun outfits people wear.

Favorite chant?

G-Block: Our favorite chant has to be the “I Believe that We Will Win” chant.  Everyone jumping and chanting, it’s hard to not feel the shakes from the stands from the field.

Outside of you guys, is there one student section that you have seen or heard about where you think, “Man, that is a good student section?”

G-Block: Man, the Liberty Patriot Pit has a crazy student section.  I cannot wait for our rivalry game with them in the playoffs later this year because it will be a battle of the student sections as much as it is on the field.  (For context, in 2019 Liberty gave Gorman their first in-state loss since 2008)

This is not a one-person operation. We know alot of people took a part in this. Who would you like to thank for making G-Block the best this week?

G-Block: We have a few people that section members mentioned, those being Gino, Trent, and Sosa.  These people are always bringing the most energy and the student section just feeds off of it.

Other Nominees: Green Valley Insitgators of Henderson, Palo Verde Jungle of Las Vegas, North Valleys of Reno

You guys are the Northern California Student Section of the Week. What did it take to stand out as one of the best in NorCal?

Loud Crowd: We are so honored to be the NorCal Student section of the week! Winning this took a lot of planning, a great execution from our ASB team, and obviously a great turnout from our fans. Because this is our first home game back (allowed with full capacity) we wanted to make it memorable.

What is the most memorable game you have ever attended as a member of the Ponderosa Student Section?

Loud Crowd: The most memorable game I have ever attended as a member of the Ponderosa Student Section was our homecoming game my freshman year.

Favorite theme?

Loud Crowd: Our favorite theme is Pondo Pride or USA. However this past Friday, blackout/wig out was dope.

Favorite chant?

Loud Crowd: Our favorite chant is P-O-N-D-O PONDO PONDO LETS GO!

Outside of you guys, is there one student section that you have seen or heard about where you think, “Man, that is a good student section?”

Loud Crowd: One student section we admire is Oak Ridge. They do a great job getting fans to dress up, and get rowdy.

This is not a one-person operation. We know alot of people took a part in this. Who would you like to thank for making Ponderosa the best this week?

Loud Crowd: We would like to thank our entire ASB class for running the loud crowd, our administration, parents, and obviously our fans. We couldn’t do it without any of them!

Other Nominees: Pleasant Grove of Elk Grove, Vista del Lago Nest of Folsom, Hanford

You guys are the Southern California Student Section of the Week. What did it take to stand out as one of the best in SoCal?

Red Sea: This past week’s homecoming game against Rancho Buena Vista was our favorite game because we had 1425 students out of 1850 students attend. Everyone wore red, there were fireworks, cheer, and homecoming floats that were all outstanding.  We also won the game 42-0.

Favorite theme?

Red Sea: We don’t do themes in our student section.  We provide a free red out shirt at the beginning of the year for every student on campus.  Every game is a red out (and one pink out in October) and everyone is included.  We know that some kids are excluded when you do a Hawaii theme or camo theme.  If you don’t have the gear, you may not go to a game.  Everyone has red so everyone feels like they are a part of the Red Sea.

Favorite chant?

Red Sea: We like cheering MC YAH HS YAH and everyone loves to join in.

Outside of you guys, is there one student section that you have seen or heard about where you think, “Man, that is a good student section?”

Red Sea: San Marcos’ Blue Crew has stood out to us and we enjoyed seeing them win the CIF Battle of the Fans for the large school section.

This is not a one-person operation. We know alot of people took a part in this. Who would you like to thank for making Red Sea the best this week?

Red Sea: We would like to shoutout our A.S.B. Advisor Sanford Carvajal for all his time he puts into our program making us the best we can be. We would also like to shoutout the class of 2022 for helping lead our student section and guiding the Red Sea to be what it is today.

Other Nominees: Murrieta Mesa Beast, Salesian Stampede/Sacred Heart Comet Crazies of Los Angeles, Mater Dei Den of Santa Ana

You guys are the Oregon Student Section of the Week. What did it take to stand out as one of the best in Oregon?

Loud Crowd: Thank you for selecting our school as the Oregon Student Section of the Week. For our school, it was very important to improve our student involvement and leadership. We made it possible for all students to attend sporting events and make the theme easy to follow. Because of this we have had an amazing Student Section at our football games, volleyball, and even soccer.

What is the most memorable game you have ever attended as a member of the Loud Crowd?

Kyra Hansen: The most memorable game I have been a part of was the home football game against Eagle Point and the theme was construction. It was memorable to me because more people showed up and dressed up for the game which made it more fun.

Favorite theme?

Kennedy Lease: Our favorite school theme was the construction theme, everyone dressed up and everyone was involved. We have amazing student leaders who help lead our crowd along with our cheerleaders. The student government class always makes sure everyone knows the themes for the games by posting on social media, and announcements throughout the school day.

Favorite chant?

Kayla Coon: My favorite chant in the student section is “Party” because it gets everyone involved including the other teams’ student sections and we always want to overpower our competition. It also helps our team get hyped up during the game, we let them know that we are there by yelling chants to keep them going.

Outside of you guys, is there one student section that you have seen or heard about where you think, “Man, that is a good student section?”

Loud Crowd: A crosstown rival usually has a good student section so we always want to beat whatever they do, it is a very friendly rival between the three high schools in our town.

This is not a one-person operation. We know alot of people took a part in this. Who would you like to thank for making the Loud Crowd the best this week?Loud Crowd: We would like to thank our whole Student Government class for coming up with the best themes for games and always making sure that everyone is involved. We would also like to thank our Administrators for allowing us to do all the fun things (covid safely) in our student section, like props, posters, and mascot heads. Lastly our students, without them we wouldn’t have a student section or school spirit.
