SoCal Student Section of the Week for Week 7: Los Osos Grizzly Nation

While Orange County has a large amount of great student sections, it is the Inland Empire that has the powerhouse ones.

For the fourth time this season, our SoCal Student Section of the week champion hail from the IE and for the second time this year, it is a Baseline League student section!

We’ll get to the champs in a moment.

Meanwhile in San Diego, the San Marcos Blue Crew seem to be the boss when it comes to marketing themselves as a school with amazing school spirit. The Knights had a battle with El Camino of Oceanside and I’m sure the Blue Crew battled with the El Camino Jungle.

In the end, San Marcos snuck by the Wildcats in a 13-12 victory.

The Blue Crew representative San Diego for the third straight week. Can they make it four in a row? We shall see.

Over in Los Angeles, we had the Battle on Gonzales Road with Oxnard taking on Pacifica of Oxnard.

The Oxnard 12th Man came ready to go with their battle against the Pacifica Student Section.

This rivalry is very savage as it showed with the hilarious signs.

You can’t find better signage than in the city of Oxnard.

The 12th Man enjoyed Oxnard’s 36-27 victory over the Tritons as they keep the Gonzales Road sign for another year!

In Orange County, the Servite Asylum of Anaheim has made a name for themselves as the New York Yankees of Orange County Student Sections. With the student section growing rapidly in the OC, the Asylum had to prepare to stay on top and what better way with their Friars facing Mater Dei of Santa Ana.

The Asylum had a battle as well with the Mater Dei Den on the opposite side.

The Asylum honored their football coach, Troy Thomas, by rocking his infamous white buttoned up shirt and black tie and even had a workout before entering the stadium.

While the Monarchs defeated Servite 56-11, the Asylum handled the stands and proved that they aren’t going away.

In the end, it was once again Inland Empire that had a student section roar to the top.

Los Osos of Rancho Cucamonga faced Baseline League favorite Upland on Friday and Grizzly Nation was ready for the Highlanders and the Upland Dogpound.

Los Osos is a student section that has been growing and growing over the last few years and it might be a safe bet to say they are one of the big dawgs in the student section world.

Things go weird and crazy over in Grizzly Nation. The students showed their love and support for their Grizzlies despite the tough 35-7 loss to Upland.

Grizzly Nation went to the polls with the other three SoCal Student Sections and after more than 2,000 votes, they took the top spot as they are the Week 7 SoCal Student Section of the Week.

We spoke with Grizzly Nation on what it took to take the SoCal crown this week!

You guys are the Week Seven So Cal Student Section of the week, beating out the Servite Asylum, Oxnard 12th Man and the San Marcos Blue Crew. What did it take to stand out as one of the best in Southern California?

Grizzly Nation: The environment of the football game is when all of the student body is unified and are able to be themselves and have a good time.

What is your most memorable game you have ever attended as a member of the student section?

Grizzly Nation: The 2016 Pink game against Rancho Cucamonga at Rancho Cucamonga. It was our current seniors first high school Pink game where we built traditions and carried them throughout the years.

Grizzly Nation: The Color rush. That is where all of our students where bright vibrant colors.

Favorite chant?

Grizzly Nation: Our favorite chant is the eight clap chant.

What’s your least favorite chant that you hear from the other side of the stadium/gym?

Grizzly Nation: We can never hear the other side because we are too loud!

Outside of you guys, is there one student section that you have seen or heard about where you think, “Man, that is a good student section?”

Grizzly Nation: We tend not to look at other schools because we compete with ourselves.
