STUDENT SECTION BATTLES OF THE WEEK (AUG. 28-AUG. 30 2025)
The school year and the fall sports season is well underway, but for us, the Student Section season is very well underway!
We are so excited to kickoff the new Student Section season. This is my 10th season covering Student Sections and my 5th season covering the US and the hype keeps getting better and better.
We have 16 states that kicked off last week and have 22 more states kicking off this week with 8 more next week! We are going to be busy these next couple of weeks!
Something we haven’t done since 2021 is spotlighting a Student Section or highlighting a Student Section with two schools like a big rivalry!
Let’s checkout the Student Section battles or the Student Sections that we expect to have a big week!
STUDENT SECTION BATTLES OF THE WEEK (AUG. 28-AUG. 30 2025)
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA – STUDNET SECTION BATTLE OF THE WEEK
PACIFICA v. OXNARD SWARM
The Battle on Gonzales Road has been a game I have been meaning to go to! Both these teams aren’t fans of each other and want bragging rights. The signs they post are funny and incredible! I will be at this game and I can’t wait to see how insane this battle will be in the stands!
ALABAMA
THEODORE v. SPANISH FORT
Spanish Fort came in hot to start the season and I am expecting the same this Friday as they have another home game. Another performance like that and it will move them up in the rankings!
ALASKA
BARROW v. EAGLE RIVER
This might come as a surprise to you, but looking for active Student Sections is difficult in Alaska. Seems Eagle River is as close to it as far as prepping for Saturday afternoon!
ARIZONA
MARANA v. SALPOINTE CATHOLIC LANCER LEGION
When we talk about Student Sections in Arizona, we always seem to focus on the surrounding Phoenix area, but there are some great Student Sections outside of the PHX. Go down to Tuscon and you’ll find a Student Section that is solid, but doesn’t post a whole lot. They should and will have to show off on Instagram when they host Marana, which by the way, this is them at the Marana game in 2023. Deja Vu time for Lancer Legion!
ARKANSAS
CABOT PANTHER PIT v. FAYETTEVILLE DAWGPOUND
The Dawgpound will look to defend their Student Section Title as they plan to rattle Cabot. This would make a nice Student Section battle if the Panther Pit showed up, but the Dawgpound will look to take control and hopefully we will see all of this on Instagram!
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
LAKELAND v. DE LA SALLE 12TH MAN
The defending National Football Student Section Champions look to defend their title as the Spartans host an out-of-state team. They show Lakeland how they go in the stands and will look to let us know that they’re still the best Student Section in the country on Instagram!
COLORADO
VALOR CHRISTIAN v. REGIS JESUIT RED SEA
This is a Student Section we don’t often see in the Fall. We do work in the Winter on Instagram, but as they host Valor Christian, we hope they are ready to let us know what a savage Student Section they are from start to finish.
DELAWARE
RED LION CHRISTIAN ACADEMY v. SALESIANUM
The top Student Section in the state will look to let everyone know they’re still number one on a Thursday night! Salesianum has a fantastic Student Section and it would be a shame if they didn’t show off their Student Section as it is a solid one.
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
ST. PAUL v. ST. ALBANS
I get the idea that St. Albans is the Student Section to look out for in DC. Solid Football Student Section and we hope they continue that tradition when they host St. Paul on Friday!
FLORIDA
BOYD ANDERSON v. ST. THOMAS AQUINAS ROWDY RAIDERS
The Rowdy Raiders brought their A game on a Saturday and almost rattled the top football program in the nation in Mater Dei. Now they’re back on a Friday night and will look to take that momentum when they host Boyd Anderson. They’ve been fantastic in the showing off your Student Section on Instagram department and I don’t expect that to change!
GEORGIA
CARROLLTON v. ROME PACK ATTACK
Pack Attack is a small, but fantastic Student Section and they’ll be put to the test when one of the best football teams in the state comes into town. Pack Attack better be ready to bite and we hope we get to see it on Instagram.
HAWAII
BISHOP GORMAN G-BLOCK v. KAHUKU CODE RED
Some people had some rumblings about Code Red being ranked number one in our Preseason Student Section Rankings. Some may have thought I was referring to the actual football rankings, but regardless, Code Red will have to come ready to cheer as they host a Nevada power in Bishop Gorman. I doubt G-Block will make an appearance, but we hope Code Red makes an appearance on Instagram and let’s us know how crazy their Student Section is!
IDAHO
OREM AMBUSH v. ROCKY MOUNTAIN GRIZZ NATION
Man, this would be an epic Student Section Battle. I doubt Orem would commit to bring their Student Section from Utah to Idaho, but it would be a dream. Grizz Nation will be looking to defend their Student Section State Title by bringing the noise and da funk in the stands and on Instagram.
INDIANA
CATHEDRAL IRISH NIGHTMARE v. BROWNSBURG BONE ZONE
Two of the top teams in the state meetup and this could have the makings of a great Student Section battle if the Irish Nightmare shows up. The Bone Zone has been quiet on Instagram in the past, but they got off to a rocking start and we hope it continues as they battle to get several banners in 2025!
ILLINOIS
LINCOLN WAY EAST v. MAINE SOUTH HAWK NATION
Hawk Nation will look to battle for the top ranking in the Illinois Fall Student Section Rankings. They know there’s going to be a lot of Student Sections, so a solid start in the stands and showing off on Instagram will be huge for Maine South!
IOWA
ALGONA v. SPIRIT LAKE
Spirit Lake will host Algona as they will look to take over the football game instead of the moon as this Instagram post suggest. If Spirit Lake wants to be recognized as one of the best Student Sections in Iowa, they better more of their Student Sections like this one.
KENTUCKY
SOUTH WARREN v. DUPONT MANUEL CRIMSON CRAZIES
I couldn’t pass up on Ryle when I picked them for Student Section of the Week in Kentucky, but the Crimson Crazies looked solid and I am expecting an encore in their next home game when they host South Warren.
LOUISIANA
DE LA SALLE v. NEWMAN GREENIE SWAMP
We haven’t heard much from the Greenie Swamp, which is surprising because their football program has a rich history. Newman host De La Salle and we hope to see more of the Greenie Swamp starting on Friday.
MICHIGAN
GROSSE POINTE NORTH v. UTICA TRIBE
The Tribe was the top Student Section in Michigan in 2023 and almost fell out of the Top 10 in 2024. The Tribe will look to bounce back in 2025 and will have to show off their Student Section on Instagram if they want another high ranking. That all starts on Thursday.
MINNESOTA
ALEXANDRIA v. CHANHASSEN
Chanhassen is going to have an opportunity to make a splash in the Minnesota ranking when they host Alexandria. It will take a big splash with the big Student Sections in the state. Chanhassen seems like they’re hungry to be considered one of the big dawgs in the state!
MISSISSIPPI
LAWERENCE COUNTY v. BROOKHAVEN RED NATION
Red Nation is the favorite in 2025 and will have to start strong in the stands when they host Lawerence County. Red Nation will have to have a strong Instagram presence as they will have to show off their Student Section.
MISSOURI
LEE’S SUMMIT v. LIBERTY BIRDCAGE
The Birdcage is going to try and make a big splash and crash the party in the Missouri Rankings. This is a Student Section we just discovered and they look like they can contend for number one.
MONTANA
SKYVIEW v. HELENA
Helena has a huge support from their cheer team based off the Instagram posts. The Bengals host Skyview and they’ll need more than just the cheer team. They need that Student Section too and we hope we see more of them on Instagram this Fall!
NEBRASKA
PAPILLION-LAVISTA v. PAPILLION-LAVISTA SOUTH BLACKHOLE
We’ve been talking about some great Student Sections in Nebraska that I feel like I forgot about the Blackhole. This is one of the best in Nebraska and they host a local rival, so we know they’ll show up! Hopefully they show up on Instagram as well, which is something we haven’t seen from them in awhile.
NEVADA
CLAYTON VALLEY v. SPANISH SPRINGS COUGARS DEN
Nevada has been clutch with Student Sections so far. Some Student Sections are moving up in the rankings where the ones that have stand pat at the top will need to prove they still belong there. The Cougar Denis one of this Student Sections. They need to start showing off their Student Section on Instagram or they will fall down in the rankings and it will be quick. A strong statement is needed here.
NEW JERSEY
MONTCLAIR v. ST. THOMAS AQUINAS TROJAN ARMY
The Trojan Army was the state best Student Section in the state in 2023 and they will look to take that top spot back. It will take a lot to return to the top and they’ll have to be at their best in the stands and on Instagram at every home game, starting with their game against Montclair.
NEW MEXICO
CLOVIS v. RIO RANCHO MOB SQUAD
The Mob Squad has company! After pretty much winning the Football Student Section State Title last year in a landslide, it looks like Rio Rancho has some competition in Demings. The Mob Squad is going to have to prove who is boss in New Mexico as they host Clovis on Friday. They\ Mob Squad knows what to do.
NEW YORK
EAST SYRACUSE-MINOA v. LIVERPOOL TRIBE
Not a lot of games being played this weekend in New York, so this should be a perfect opportunity for the Tribe to stand out as they host East Syracuse-Minoa. Hopefully, we’ll get to see it on Instagram as the Tribe will battle for the top spot in the state!
NORTH CAROLINA
SUN VALLEY v. MOORESVILLE DEVILS DEN
The Devils Den was impressive last year, but we didn’t see them enough. Mooresville host Sun Valley and we hope to see consistent photos and videos of the Den on Instagram from start to finish in 2025!
NORTH DAKOTA
SHEYENNE v. LEGACY
After no Student Section showed up last week in the state of North Dakota, we feel this is the moment where Legacy’s Student Section should take over and let everyone know there is no competition. They had their chance. Legacy will host Sheyenne on Friday and their rowdy students will be ready and hopefully we’ll see them on Instagram as well!
OHIO
CENTERVILLE HERD v. ST. XAVIER BOMB SQUAD
Now I know I put St. Xavier on here last week, but when you’re facing Centerville, you can skip that. The Centerville Herd may not make the drive (or maybe they will, they look like that kind of Student Section), but the Bomb Squad will be there and these two Student Section will be battling for the top spot in the Ohio Student Section Rankings. Man I wish this would be an all-out Student Section battle! It would be epic!
OKLAHOMA
DEL CITY v. EDMOND MEMORIAL DOGPOUND
The Dogpound runs the Oklahoma Fall Student Section scene! They have a dynasty and will look to continue that on Friday in a battle of top football teams in the state. The Dogpound will work their magic and show it off on Instagram!
OREGON
SPRAGUE v. SUMMIT
Summit is looking to be back in the hunt for the top spot in the Oregon Student Section Rankings and to do that they’ll have to show off their Student Section on Instagram when they host Sprague! That will make a good strong case off the gate!
PENNSYLVANIA
CENTRAL VALLEY v. THOMAS JEFFERSON JUNGLE
The Jungle is looking to repeat as State Student Section Champions as they host Central Valley. The Jungle will look to rinse and repeat on Instagram and show off a top-notch Student Section!
SOUTH CAROLINA
PHILLIP SIMMONS v. LUCY BECKHAM JUNGLE
The Jungle is going to battle for the top spot and they have a solid chance this season. It all starts when they host Phillip Simmons on Friday. The Jungle had a solid Winter and will look to continue that this Fall. Hopefully we see it on Instagram.
SOUTH DAKOTA
RONCALLI CAVALIER CRAZIES v. CHAMBERLAIN CUB CRAZIES
I recall the Cub Crazies jumping out the gate with a great showing in the stands and on Instagram. I hope the same results as the season begins!
TENNESSEE
GALLATIN TSUNAMI v. FRANKLIN FLAGSHIP
The Flagship tends to to get overlooked in a state super deep with great Student Section talent. This will be Franklin chance to make a splash as they host Gallatin. If they show up in the stands, I hope they do the same on Instagram!
NORTHEAST TEXAS
CYPRESS PARK v. COLLEGE PARK ROWDIES
The Rowdies break into the Top 10 of the rankings and will look to prove that they belong with the best in Texas as they host Cypress Park. If they show it off on Instagram, they could be the new big king in the region!
SOUTHWEST TEXAS
GONZALES v. CENTRAL CATHOLIC
With Texas being divided into two, Central Catholic will be the Student Section to chase in the Southwest. In order to stay on top, they’ll have to go nuts in the stands and show off on Instagram. Start strong and show everyone who the top dawg is!
UTAH
CENTENNIAL DAWGPOUND v. DESERT HILLS
Desert Hills has been recognized, but in a state full of amazing Student Sections, they don’t get looked at enough. Every home game is big if they want to be considered the best in the state! Desert Hills host Centennial of Las Vegas and we hope we see Desert Hills show off on Instagram!
VIRGINIA
PULASKI COUNTY v. NORTHSIDE NUTHOUSE
I feel like this state is wide open for the top Student Section spot and the Nuthouse will look to make an early statement for the top spot as they host Pulaski County. This is one of the Student Sections that love to show off their school spirit on Instagram!
WEST VIRGINIA
CAMDEN v. MARTINSBURG DOG POUND
The top ranked football team in the state host Camden and they’ll need the Dog Pound to rattle the opponent. Dog Pound took a step back last year and will look to promote their Student Section on Instagram in order to get back to the top of the rankings in 2025.
WISCONSIN
MARQUETTE UNIVERSITY v. FOND DU LAC CARDINALS NEST
The Cardinals Nest doesn’t have to rattle an actual college. I’m sure some will wonder that, but Fond Du Lac does host Marquette. We haven’t heard much from the Cardinals Nest in the past, but we have noticed them this past week and we hope that isn’t a fluke. We hope to see more of them this Fall as they can potentially battle for the top ranking in the state rankings!
WYOMING
CAMPBELL COUNTY v. KELLY WALSH
Kelly Walsh will look to stay in the Top 10 this year as they open up the season at home against Campbell! They’ll need to show off their Student Section on Instagram to get that recognition in the rankings!
