STUDENT SECTION BATTLES (SEPT. 2-3, 2021)
The El Modena Rowdy Rooters of Orange roadshow will continue for one more game as they travel yet again!
We saw a lot of great Student Sections last week!
We had a great debut in our coverage of Northern California and Nevada Student Sections these last few weeks and we hope it continues to grow, especially since we add Arizona, Oregon and Washington Student Sections to the list tomorrow!
We decided to go ahead and add Northern California, Nevada and Arizona to our list Student Section Battles to Watch Let’s see if we got it right.
Let’s get loud and rowdy this weekend!
STUDENT SECTION BATTLES (Sept. 2-3, 2021)
(All Games on Friday unless noted)
STUDENT SECTION BATTLE OF THE WEEK
Orange Lutheran Code Red vs. Edison MESS of Huntington Beach at Orange Coast College of Costa Mesa, Friday, 7pm
Code Red put on a strong showing at OCC last week, but now they have a student section battle on their hands as the Mighty Edison Student Section will be filling up the stands! This is going to be a fun one to attend. Also, the game on the field is going to be a good one too.
INLAND EMPIRE BATTLES OF THE WEEK
Heritage Patriot Pit of Menifee at Chaparral Green Fanatics of Temecula, Friday, 7pm
Still not sure if the Patriot Pit travels, but Menifee and Temecula are next to each other, so no excuse. Home game for the Green Fanatics and they will be rocking the stands on Friday.
Villa Park Black Pack at Upland Dogpound, Friday, 7pm
We’ll this should be a one-sided affair as the Dogpound will be alone right? Wrong. The Black Pack has traveled deep into the IE and is planning to bring a large group to battle with the U! Road Warriors look to challenge the Dogpound!
Norco Cougar Den at Rancho Cucamonga Rooters, Friday, 7pm
The Norco Cougar Den looked fantastic last week and will look better if they go on the road to run into the Rancho Rooters, a fantastic student section at home. Will the Den dare battle with the mighty Rooters?
Capistrano Valley Cage of Mission Viejo at Santiago Black Sea of Corona, Friday, 7pm
The Black Sea is a good student section at home games, although it is never noticed since social media is an issue, but the Cage doesn’t have that problem and they have traveled before. The Cage is off to a great start!
Citrus Hill of Perris at Redlands Boneyard, Friday, 7pm
The Boneyard always packs the home side of the stadium regardless of what Redlands football does. A very supportive student section and Citrus Hill is a great program. Plus, you never know if they will bring a student section or not.
LOS ANGELES BATTLES OF THE WEEK
Bishop Amat Dawgpound La Puente at St. John Bosco Tribe of Bellflower, Friday, 7pm
Both of these student sections have two things in common right now. Both are well-respected student sections and both haven’t shown anything so far this season. No social media this year. I know it’s early and Bishop Amat had a Covid situation to start the season, but the Dawgpound will be needed on Friday and the Tribe has to be ready. Will someone share the fanfare on social media on Friday? Please?
Damien Pit of La Verne at St. Francis Dungeon of La Canada, Friday, 7pm
I ranked the Pit very high because I have high hopes for the Spartans football team, but I have yet to see the Pit social media bouncing about. Sadly the same is to be said about the social media game from the Dungeon. I’ve seen both student sections and they’re savages in the stands. I don’t understand why they don’t want to share the madness. It’s great stuff. I hope we have a student section battle on Friday with these two groups.
Walnut Stable at West Covina Bulldog Nation, 7pm
Last weeks SoCal Student Section of the Week champs are looking to keep the flame going. This student section is fantastic in the stands and on social media! I’ve seen bits and pieces of the Stable and they’re pretty good. Will they travel? Maybe? Otherwise, it’s a Bulldog party on Friday.
Notre Dame Castle of Sherman Oaks at Valencia Viking Nation, Friday, 7pm
Viking Nation is looking to defend their 2019 Los Angeles Football Student Section title and will have to prepare for a possible showing from the Castle. The Castle showed a strong start to the season and a drive to Magic Mountain isn’t that far, but beware because these Kings will take your Castle…man that was a terrible pun.
Pacifica Big Kahuna of Oxnard at Westlake Warrior Nation of Westlake Village, Friday, 7pm
The Big Kahuna travels and I know because I saw them on the road, but it might be different for a regular season game. Not much is known from the Warrior Nation except that we know they exist. Some social media work never hurt anyone…well pending what you post, but that’s a different topic. Big Kahuna, Westlake isn’t that far away. Make the trip!
ORANGE COUNTY BATTLES OF THE WEEK
Orange Juice Box at Yorba Linda Stable, Thursday, 7pm
The Juice Box has traveled before as they had the 2019 Road Show, so going to Yorba Linda shouldn’t be a problem. The Stable that I first met in 2015 is back and I love it! The energy and social media work is back! If I’m not assigned a game to cover for the OC Register on Thursday, I will be at this game to checkout these Student Sections!
Cypress Legion at Western Blue Tang Clan of Anaheim, Friday, 7pm
This is a home game for both student sections. We know the Legion will be there. The social media is a maybe, but unless they didn’t know yet, the Western Blue Tang Clan will be there. Could be a small group or a large group, but the Blue Tang Clan is back and they ain’t nothin to mess with! One of my favorite student sections to cover when I first started in 2015. This will be a good one.
Sunny Hills Lancer Nation Fullerton vs. El Modena Rowdy Rooters of Orange at Buena Park, Friday, 7pm
Another Road Show for El Modena? The Rowdy Rooters are getting teased, but no complaints from them as they’ll be there on the road again. Lancer Nation will be there on the other side. The Rowdy Rooters social media is strong where Lancer Nation social media game is not the same from 2019 when they skyrocketed into the standings. Both these student sections are great and it should be a good one.
Trabuco Hills Stampede of Mission Viejo at Dana Hills Loud Crowd of Dana Point, Friday, 7pm
With the Podfather enjoying retirement, I was wondering what the Loud Crowd (we always called them the Pod Squad) would do after he left. Nothing has changed as Dana Hills is louder than ever. They will protect their home as the Stampede will look to head down Golden Lantern on Friday. I give Dana Hills the edge on social media work, but that’s not because the Stampede doesn’t have one. They do, but the Podfather taught the Dolphins well.
Santa Margarita Eagles Nest of Rancho Santa Margarita vs. St. Augustine Saints Pit of San Diego at Saddleback College of Mission Viejo, Friday, 7pm
The Eagles Nest knows how to rock it at a home game, but the Saints Pit can travel and I really hope they do because this will be a fun one to check out. The Saints Pit is the Servite Asylum of San Diego. Such a nutty and insane group of young men. I hope the Saints Pit makes the journey just so we can see them and the Eagles Nest prepare for battle! Eagles Nest will be ready regardless.
SAN DIEGO BATTLES OF THE WEEK
Torrey Pines Cardinal CHAOS of San Diego at Rancho Bernardo Stable of San Diego, Friday, 7pm
The Stable has been very impressive this year, but the CHAOS has been consistent! If the Chaos heads to Rancho Bernardo, then this is going to be a rowdy one! We’ll see this on social media for sure!
Mission Hills Growl Crowd of San Marcos, at Lincoln Hive of San Diego, Friday, 7pm
The Lincoln football team just saw one of the countries beat student sections in the Los Alamitos Locos, so if the Growl Crowd travels, they have a tough act to follow. The Growl Crowd is fantastic and will handle business. Hopefully, the Hive shows up and gets as rowdy as the Locos did last week.
Escondido at Westview Black Hole of San Diego, Friday, 7pm
Escondido does have a student section, but will they travel to Westview? We’ll see. We know the Blackhole will and I’ve noticed them on social media, so we may get to see the show!
San Clemente Loud Crowd at La Costa Canyon Stampede of Carlsbad, Friday, 7pm
The Stampede will have to be ready just in case the Loud Crowd makes the drive down the 5 freeway. They aren’t much of a traveling student section, but don’t assume. The Stampede is starting to market themselves on social media and I like it. Keep showing off that school spirit.
Chaminade Cage of West Hills at Cathedral Los Locos of San Diego, Friday, 7:30pm
Not sure if the Cage will drive all the way down to San Diego on a Friday, but we do know Los Locos will be rocking the concrete stands. We don’t see them as often on social media, but from the times we’ve seen them, they have thrown a crazy party in the stands!
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA BATTLES OF THE WEEK
Vista del Lago Nest of Folsom at Casa Roble of Orangevale, Friday, 7pm
Both student sections are solid and I expect the Nest to be rocking the visitors side. Casa Roble should be ready to defend their home! Bring earmuffs on Friday!
Jesuit of Carmichael at Granite Bay Tribe, Friday, 7pm
Here’s another student section where we expect the roadshow to occur. Jesuit will travel and Granite Bay will be ready to rock it. The Tribe will look to defend their home!
Lincoln of Stockton at Oak Ridge of El Dorado Hills Blue Crew, Friday, 7pm
I’ve heard great things from the Lincoln student section. I’ve seen great things on social media from the Blue Crew. The Blue Crew will be ready to blow out your ears and hopefully we hear something from the other side of the stadium!
Nevada Union of Grass Valley at Woodcreek Wolfpack of Roseville, Friday, 7pm
We know the Wolfpack will be ready to roll for their home game and they’ll show it off on social media! Will Nevada Union do the same on the road? They’re a great student section, but I’m new to the NorCal scene, so I’ll have to see if they’re Road Warriors or not.
Yuba City at Pleasant Valley of Chico, Friday, 7:30pm
Both schools have great student sections and I hope to hear that both sides of the stadium went wild. Hopefully, we get to see it!
ARIZONA BATTLES OF THE WEEK
Highly Knightmare of Gilbert at Williams Field Red Rage of Gilbert, Friday, 7pm
This is a top notch student section battle. The Knightmare will look to rock Williams Field, but the Red Rage has a huge say in it! Let’s see who will rock it in Gilbert tomorrow.
Centennial of Scottsdale at Chandler Blue Crew, Friday, 7pm
Chandler is not that far of a drive from Scottsdale, so the Centennial student section should make this trip and be road warriors, but be ready for the Blue Crew! This can be a loud one on Friday.
St. Mary’s of Phoenix at Brophy College Prep Red Army of Phoenix, Friday, 7pm
According to from my former colleague Bannon Clark, the Red Army knows how to throw a party in the stands and we expect St. Mary’s student section to have a good showing, but Brophy is solid!
Pinnacle Crazies of Phoenix at Horizon of Phoenix, Friday, 7pm
While this is a road game, we expect the Crazies to make the trip and go wild! I’ve been waiting to consistently see the Crazies on social media. Horizon will have a student section at the ready to contain the crazy on the other side.
Dobson of Mesa at Red Mountain Red Sea of Mesa, Friday, 7pm
The Red Sea will be flowing on Friday for the home opener! I’ve seen their social media game before and I like it. Maybe Dobson student section will make an appearance, but the Red Sea will flood the stands…that’s two Red Sea puns.
NEVADA BATTLES OF THE WEEK
Liberty Patriot Pit of Henderson at Foothill Flockers of Henderson, Friday, 7pm
The Liberty Patriot Pit will be doing to flocking as they head to Foothill, but the Flockers are a rowdy bunch…so i’ve heard. The Patriot Pit social media game is solid! This will be a fun one in the stands.
Green Valley Instigators of Henderson at Palo Verde Jungle of Las Vegas, Friday, 7pm
A lot Insitgating when Green Valley heads to Palo Verde as they look to shake up the Jungle! The Instigatorswill look to control the home team turf, but the Jungle has different plans. Hopefully we see this on social media.
Reed Raider Nation of Sparks at Bishop Manoogue of Reno, Friday, 7pm
Both solid student sections, but tough to find on social meida. That’s more of me on my first year covering Nevada student sections. We still expect these student sections to rock it in the stands!
Arbor View of Las Vegas at Las Vegas, Friday, 7pm
Two great Las Vegas Student Sections will go to battle tomorrow. We’ve seen bits and pieces of these student sections on social media in the past, but let’s see what they got tomorrow.
Desert Oasis Pit Crew of Las Vegas at Canyon Springs of Las Vegas, Friday, 7pm
The Pit Crew will look to take control of the Canyon Springs stadium and I’m sure we will spot them as well. Canyon Springs also has a solid student section, so we hope to hear a battle on social media.
