STUDENT SECTIONS OF THE WEEK (SEPT. 15-20, 2025)
The Football Student Section season is well underway! All 50 states played some football with their Student Sections cheering them on.
Some states were had winners that showed off their Student Section, others didn’t, so we went with a different route, whoever promoted the game with a theme for the Student Section. Hopefully, we can avoid that route!
Once you win Student Section of the Week for your home state, you can’t win it again, but you still qualify to win the National Student Section of the Week at some other point. Once you win that, you can’t qualify to win another one.
However, for this week’s National Student Section of the Week Winner, they’ll get a chance to win their home state!
Now once you win, it doesn’t mean tagging us of sending videos and photos of your Student Sections comes to an end because we still have the end of the season rankings and you have to make a very strong case for the top spot in your state!
We will go with who I felt was the best Student Section in the state by what I saw on Instagram!
We had some fantastic Student Sections this past week, but we had to go with one Student Section for the National Football Student Section of the Week.
As mentioned, we had some solid Student Sections. Seven of them came to mind for the National Student Section of the Week, but one of them wasn’t even on our radar as far as the National circuit goes.
Last week, I mentioned that Illinois was starting to look like a top dawg as the Student Section power in the nation. It sounds like California as a whole took notice and stepped it up.
California is the original powerhouse Student Section dawgs, but several states have taken notice and shown that they have better school spirit. California stepped up this past weekend as four out of the seven Student Section of the Week finalists came from the Golden State.
One of them was the surprising 2023 National Football Student Section Champions, the Chaparral Puma Pit of Southern California. The Puma Pit came out of nowhere to be on top of the Inland Empire Rankings (not an easy task, the Student Section alongside I-15 are dangerous Student Sections), on top of Southern California (not an easy task as well) and finished strong to be the best in the nation!
They earned it with an electric Student Section, but they took a dip last year. Dare we say, a rebuilding year. Even then, it was still a great Student Section, but you can’t take a step back when you’re one of the power Student Sections off of Interstate 15.
The Pumas hosted Great Oak (known for being one of the nation’s Student Section powers) and the Puma Pit showed up big for the Homecoming Game.
The Puma Pit came ready to rock while rocking their school colors. It was so impressive, it impressed the opposing fans as they posted how insane this Student Section is. We got ourselves another fun battle on the 15 Freeway!
The Puma Pit knows it can’t take a step back if they want to get in the Southern California Fall Student Section playoffs, as only two Inland Empire Student Sections will go in the 10-Student Section bracket for SoCal. The Puma Pit will be ready to possibly crash the party.
You couldn’t script a better Homecoming Game as Chaparral defeat the Wolfpack 64-14!
While Murrieta Valley Red Zone of Southern California, Del Oro Blackhole of Southern California, Lincoln Way Central Knightmare of Illinois, Westwood of Arizona, Sparkman of Alabama and Millikan Mob of Southern California had amazing showings in the stands, The Puma Pit had that little extra as they’re the National Fall Student Section of the Week!
“First home game of the season- The Puma Pit is back! Student built. Student led. All hype. All pride. Making noise across the nation. We’re not just a student section, we’re Puma Nation. Say it loud, say it proud!.”
Let’s take a look at the other Student Section of the Week winners in the 50 states that played football.
