  2025 HAWAII FINAL TOP 15 FALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGSJanuary 28, 2026

  The time has come to start ranking 50 states that we covered this football season. 

  To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is a huge huge understatement.

  We had 11 Student Section of the Week winners in New Jersey and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.

  Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want it and marketing is key. 

  You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

  I know Student Sections complain but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

  A Student Section that doesn’t post videos or photos of there Student Section on a consistent basis is like a tree falling with no one around. It doesn’t make any noise.

  This is our fourth year covering Student Sections in Hawaii. We had Punahou taking it in 2022 and the Kahuku Code Red in 2023 and 2024.

  We felt this state was controlled by one Student Section, but we have noticed a couple players in this state, including what could be a new top dawg in Hawaii. We have some company now!

  So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Aloha State.

  2025 HAWAII FINAL TOP 15 FALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

  1. Kaiser Cougar Cage (2024 Rank: 3)

  We have a new powerhouse in Hawaii in the Cougar Cage. Fantastic Student Section that had some members of their Student Sections remind me that they want this more than anyone else. Only Student Section that has asked me if I could make the trip to Hawaii to check them out in person. Trust me, I think a trip to Hawaii wouldn’t be chore, so maybe one day I’ll visit Kaiser, but until then, let’s name a new Fall Student Section Champion in Hawaii for 2025 in the Kaiser Cougar Cage!

  This is our fifth year covering Football Student Sections in Nevada. We had the Liberty Patriot Pit win it in 2021 & 2023, the Bishop Gorman G-Block in 2022 and Las Vegas in 2024.

  This state has slowly gotten better as we are noticing more and more Student Sections promoting their school spirit on Instagram. This list got deeper in 2025.

  So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Silver State.

  2025 NEVADA FINAL TOP 40 FALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

  1. Elko Tribe (2024 Rank: 20)

  The Tribe is normally at the top of the Winter Rankings, but things must have changed because this is a Student Section that rocks the house all year long! Social media marketing improved and with a Student Section like the Tribe, you can’t blame them for showing off their school spirit. Elko wanted everyone to know that they want to be number one and that is why the Elko Tribe is the 2025 Nevada Fall Student Section Champions!

  Quietly, this state has produced a long list of solid and fantastic Student Sections that they can hang with the very best of them. Arizona goes all out in the stands!

  2025 ARIZONA FINAL TOP 40 FALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

  1. Highland Nest (2024 Rank: 1)

  The Nest needs to start sharing the title, but I bet they won’t. This is there fourth time in five years that they take the top spot and you can see why! Large Student Section and I know since I’ve seen them in person in the past that they go all out in the stands. Everyone gets involved and they get loud and crazy! They had some company and I thought for a second that they would have to take a step back from the top spot, but you have to really take this title out of their cold dead hands as for the fourth time in five years, the Highland Nest is your 2025 Arizona Fall Student Section Champions!

  This is our fourth year covering Football Student Sections in Tennessee. We had the Farmington Rowdy Crowd in 2022, St. Michael’s Blue Crew in 2023 and the Rio Rancho Mob Squad in 2024.

  This state got a whole lot better. Some of these Student Sections improved. Rio Rancho was in battle for a repeat because they have company now.

  So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Land of Enchantment.

  1. Rio Rancho Mob Squad (2024 Rank: 1)

  The Mob Squad did it again! It wasn’t a runaway like last year with some of the Student Sections battling for the top spot in 2025. Mob Squad was consistent on Instagram. It will be tough for a threepeat, but for now, the Rio Rancho Mob Squad is your back-to-back New Mexico Fall Student Section Champions!

  When we started covering Student Sections in 2015, it began with only Orange County, California. We expanded in 2017 to Southern California and it was the leaders of the 2020 Turlock Dogpound that asked us when we will extend out coverage, we went to six states and then 20 states, then 40 states and now all 50 states. We appreciate the Dogpound for the encouragement.

  2025 NORTHERN CALIFORNIA FINAL TOP 40 FALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

  1. De La Salle 12th Man (2024 Rank: 1)

  The 12th Man had to battle this season to keep their title and they came close to losing the title. The 12th Man once again packed the house and went wild! This Student Section also battled and came close to repeating as National Champs before losing in the semifinals. While they fell short, they still held the title as the 2025 Northern California Fall Student Section Champions! Back-to-Back!

  2025 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA FOOTBALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGSDecember 17, 2025

  We continue our Final Rankings in all of the 50 states we covered this football season. 

  To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is an understatement.

  We had Student Section of the Week for over 10 weeks and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which one wanted it more.

  Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want and marketing is key. 

  You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

  I know Student Sections complain, but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

  When we started covering Student Sections in 2015, it began with only Orange County, California. We expanded in 2016 to Southern California before expanding to other states last year.

  We had Murrieta Mesa Beast taking the SoCal title in 2016, Vista Murrieta Bronco Bleacher Creatures in 2017, Rancho Cucamonga Rooters in 2018, Los Alamitos Locos in 2019, Murrieta Valley Red Zone in 2021, Carlsbad Loud Crowd in 2022, Chapparral Puma Pit in 2023 and the Great Oak Red Wave in 2024.

  Southern California is the headquarters of the Student Section Report and this region means the world to me.

  This group is so deep that we have honorable mentions that would battle for a state title elsewhere. A very deep region!

  2025 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA FOOTBALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS

  1. Chaparral Puma Pit (2024 Rank: 12)

  2025 NATIONAL FALL STUDENT SECTION CHAMPIONS!!!

  The Puma Pit is back on top! After taking the National Title in 2023, the Puma Pit took a step back, but they came back in a big way in 2025! It is not easy to take the lead in SoCal when you have some solid Student Sections in or around your hometown. Interstate 15 has some crazy and solid Student Sections, but this year was Chaparral year to take over! They also took over the voting and no one could stop them!

  The stands were electric this fall. Packed stands that went wild and it impressed several visiting fans, including some from other states when they came to visit to play the Pumas. It definitely impressed many fans on social media.

  This is starting to look like a dynasty as the Chaparral Puma Pit is your 2025 Southern California Fall Student Section Champions and they’re your 2025 National Fall Student Section Champions! Two in three years!

  In 2015, yours truly began covering Student Sections in Orange County, California. We expanded to Southern California in 2017 and in 2021, we added four more states and added 15 more states. We went to 40 states two years ago.

  We went to all 50 states in winter of 2023 and now we add our friends from the North in Canada on top of dividing Texas into two regions, similar to what we did with California. No one has ever done that before…until now!

  This is still a one-man operation for the most part, but we have some help with some partners on Instagram like good friends at OC Student Sections and Stadium Geeks with help from Maryland Student Section Rater, NorCal Student Sections and many more.

  This year we plan to get several “barstool” pages that showcase Student Sections in their states. Some of those pages were very helpful last year as we get more accurate with our rankings.

  I know that Student Sections have a lot of work to do to get the students to the games to cheer on their classmates and go along with the theme and make sure they don’t cause trouble. These student sections deserve recognition.

  This past season, we several more Student Sections, including some big powerhouse ones that not only will be a top dawg in their state, but will be a big player in the National side!

  We will kick off the Student Section season with Preseason Football Student Section Rankings. REMEMBER, this is a PREVIEW. It is merely a prediction. The real rankings come out in November or December. 

  If you feel your student section isn’t ranked high enough or not ranked at all, let us know and we’ll keep a close eye on them.

  Every week, we will also have Student Section of the Week for each state. Once you win Student Section of the Week, you can’t win it again, but you still have to battle for the top spot in your state and perhaps the Nation as we will also name a Football Student Section National Champion. 

  We continue with the 2025 Fall Student Section Season with a preview of Southern California.

  SoCal is our bread and butter as we are located here in Orange County. The Student Section Report started as SoCal Student Sections in 2018 and before that we covered Orange County at OC Sidelines and later SoCal at SoCal Sidelines in 2015. While we have grown outside of SoCal, it is still one of the best to cover. Amazing school spirit down here!

  With Student Section Report going out of state for 2-3 games this fall and only being in Orange County for only 2 games, maybe 3 games, we leave it up to OC Student Sections (@OCStudentSections on Instagram) and don’t forget to follow LA Student Sections (@LAStudentSections on Instagram). The work that they do is remarkable and they have a different system than us, but keep in mind, College Sports go off of two rankings and are trusted. Believe me when I say (or type) this, trust these guys, they have their business handled.

  Last Football season, we had the Great Oak Red Wave as the top Football Student Section in Southern California. The Red Wave has the blueprint on how to stay at the top of the rankings. They post their Student Section on Instagram like it is nobody’s business. No one promotes their Student Section as well as the Red Wave. It will be very tough to dethrone the Red Wave, but it is possible, especially with some super solid Student Sections that are behind them. This region is crazy deep!

  In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Southern California, it’s the Servite Asylum. The Asylum is a roller coaster. One year, they’re dominant, the next year, they’re in rebuilding mode. Based on turn, this is the year the Asylum is back and they’ve have already shown it on Instagram. Top dawg in the OC won’t be good enough, they want to challenge the Red Wave and I think they can do it. I’ve seen the Asylum battle for over a decade now. This is the New York Yankees of Student Sections. Get your popcorn out, this one is going to be fun in SoCal!

  1. Great Oak Red Wave (2024 Rank: 1)

  There’s a couple Student Sections in Southern California that want to be the top dawg here, but they want more than that. They want a National Championship Banner and the Red Wave is definitely one of those Student Sections. They have been one of the few close to perfect examples of what a Student Sections should do. Post, post, post on Instagram and show off your loud, crazy and sometimes intense Student Section. The Red Wave does that on a weekly basis like it’s nothing. As mentioned, even trying to be number one in SoCal is a difficult task with so many solid Student Sections here, including Student Sections who are nearby, just a short drive on Interstate-15. The Red Wave will be ready as always with the goal to be on top in the nation!

  Arizona has been a solid state of great Student Sections and while we had some great ones last year, we didn’t really discover new ones nor did we see a plethora of Student Sections consistently showing off their school spirit. Perhaps it’s me putting Arizona up there with some of the best. You can’t blame me as I know this state has some crazy kids in the stands and I expect to be right about that in 2025.

  Last Football season, we had the Highland Nest as the top Football Student Section in Arizona. The Nest has set the standard for being the best Student Section in Arizona. Other Student Sections would have to make a very big impression in order to take down the Nest. It is possible, but if the Nest does their job and show off their Student Section on Instagram, no one will take them down, well it would have to be some really impressive videos/photos of their Student Section to do so.

  In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Arizona, it’s the Bradshaw Mountain Den. We met the Activities Director of the Bradshaw Mountain at a Student Section portion of a workshop I conducted in late February at CADA State Convention in San Diego and they let us know how amazing their Student Section is and wanted to make sure we highlight them. I hope they tag us because I was impressed with the past videos/photos of their Student Section. Maybe one day we’ll have the funding to head to Prescott to checkout this fantastic Student Section becuase they’ve got potential to hang with the best in Arizona.

  2025 ARIZONA FALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS

  1. Brophy Prep Stampede (2024 Rank: 2)

  The Stampede Instagram was on point last year! Solid Student Section, very crazy and as good as advertised. When we expanded outside of California in 2021, I was told to keep an eye out for the Brophy Prep Stampede because they have a solid Student Section and that is correct! The Stampede will need to promote their Student Section on social media and keep at the pace of Highland in order to finish on top. They can do that and they can make a run in the National Student Section bracket!

  Every week, we will also have Student Section of the Week for each state. Once you win Student Section of the Week, you can’t win it again, but you still have to battle for the top spot in your state and perhaps the Nation as we will also name a Football Student Section National Champion. 

  We continue with the 2025 Fall Student Section Season with a preview of New Mexico.

  I felt like we discovered New Mexico even more this last fall and to prove that, the National Winter Student Section Finalists came from New Mexico. Maybe we might see more of New Mexico this year. They have a solid group of Student Sections led by two powers in each season, but those powers can be taken down at any point by a new New Mexico Student Section.

  Last Football season, we had the Rio Rancho Mob Squad as the top Football Student Section in New Mexico. The Mob Squad ran away with this one last year and I expect the same in 2025. The social media on Instagram is fantastic and I expect them to show off their school spirit once again. We’ll see if anyone will take the challenge to take down the state champs!

  In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for New Mexico, it’s the Deming. This is a Student Section that has been moving up in the rankings and seems to be hanging around in the herd of the New Mexico Student Section scene and if they just step up a bit, they could keep moving up and perhaps be the new top dawg in the state.

  

  Will Deming keep moving up in the rankings and take the top spot or will the Mob Squad stay on top in the Land of Enchantment? Let’s find out.

  2025 NEVADA FALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGSAugust 13, 2025

  In 2015, yours truly began covering Student Sections in Orange County, California. We expanded to Southern California in 2017 and in 2021, we added four more states and added 15 more states. We went to 40 states two years ago.

  We went to all 50 states in winter of 2023 and now we add our friends from the North in Canada on top of dividing Texas into two regions, similar to what we did with California. No one has ever done that before…until now!

  This is still a one-man operation for the most part, but we have some help with some partners on Instagram like good friends at OC Student Sections and Stadium Geeks with help from Maryland Student Section Rater, NorCal Student Sections and many more.

  This year we plan to get several “barstool” pages that showcase Student Sections in their states. Some of those pages were very helpful last year as we get more accurate with our rankings.

  I know that Student Sections have a lot of work to do to get the students to the games to cheer on their classmates and go along with the theme and make sure they don’t cause trouble. These student sections deserve recognition.

  This past season, we several more Student Sections, including some big powerhouse ones that not only will be a top dawg in their state, but will be a big player in the National side!

  Nevada has been a hit and miss, more so last year during football season, but I think seeing Bishop Manogue Goldmine take the 2024-2025 Nevada Winter Student Section National Title, maybe we will see more Student Sections battle it out in this state to get in the Goldmine territory.

  Last Football season, we had Las Vegas Zoo as the top Football Student Section in Nevada. The Zoo broke the Nevada mold when it came to the number one spot. It’s been either the Liberty Patriot Pit or the Bishop Gorman G-Block. Las Vegas doesn’t want to gamble and have the rankings leadoff with those two again. Perhaps this will be the new trend and we have someone else new at the top or maybe Las Vegas will be the new routine one pick in the state.

  In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Nevada, it’s Bishop Manogue Goldmine. Now, I know what you’re thinking, didn’t they just win a National Student Section Championship? Yes, but that was for the Winter season and during our first year covering Football Student Sections in Nevada in 2022, I tried to hype up Bishop Manogue to be one of the top dawgs in the state, but one of their students at the time said it’s no use, they’re terrible during football season. It made me think this is a Student Section that steps it up in the Winter. While we are right about the Winter part, I have to think the Goldmine doesn’t take a day off and I hope they can prove that this fall!

They’ll have to step it up a bit in order to hold down number one again. Liberty can be hit and miss (the Patriot Pit leaders are solid, but they can’t do it all by themselves). If nothing changes around Las Vegas, this will be repeat.

  This is a tough state to figure out, but we found some players in the Student Section scene in Hawaii that might shake up the top spot in this state that has been controlled by one Student Section. We hope to see more Student Sections in Hawaii on Instagram and we hope to see a new top dawg this fall.

  Last Football season, we had Kahuku Code Red as the top Football Student Section in Hawaii. Code Red has been a dominant Student Section in the winter and mainly the fall, but will this be the year someone takes them out of the top spot? If a Student Section has any interaction or more consistency posting on social media, we may have a new state champ here.

  In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Hawaii, it’s Kaiser. If we see more of this Student Section in the fall on Instagram and perhaps some interaction with us stating they want to be number one, then we will have a new state champ. It will take a lot of work to take over Code Red, but I feel Kaiser has the best chance at it.

  2024-2025 WINTER STUDENT SECTION NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!

  I have been trying to get Bishop Manogue involved in the Student Section scene when we first began to cover Nevada in 2021, but it was tough. I had them in the middle of the herd and then, they found us and they ran with it! Forget bring the best in Nevada, they wanted more than that! They wanted to be the best of the best in the nation! It helps to get Jack of all Fades (@jack_of_all_fades on Instagram) to post the insanity of the Goldmine! This Student Section was over the top and put them on the map in Nevada. Bishop Manogue really had to battle in the voting in the National Winter Student Section Playoffs, beating some of the very best Student Sections in the nation to take the top spot! It is an honor to give this National Title to a very crazy Student Section and one that appears to rattle anyone that faces their brothers in the court! A definite 6th Man!

  The Ambush got the year started off hot with an amazing video. It was not a surprise to us as they have been on a roll this school year. The Ambush put themselves on the map and that is tough to do in one of the deepest states in the nation when it comes to Student Sections!   1. Great Oak Red Wave (2024 Rank: 2)

  I mean this shouldn’t come as a surprise. The Red Wave is a powerhouse of a Student Section not just in Southern California, but in the country. They’ve set the standard and have remained a consistent power in the stands for awhile now. The social media game is at another level and they pack the stands and go nuts, sometimes on the court! They made it to the Final Four of the National Winter Student Section Playoffs and were the favorites to win it all. Look at this Student Section the same way you look at Duke Basketball, they’re always the favorite you drop your jaw when they are out in the playoffs brackets. While they were a round away from the Championship Final, they held on to the SoCal Title as they are the 2024-2025 Southern California Winter Student Section of the Year!
