  • 2023 UTAH FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

The time has come to start ranking 50 states that we covered this football season.

To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is an understatement.

We had 12 Student Section of the Week winners in Utah and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.

Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want it and marketing is key.

You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

I know Student Sections complain, but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

This is our second year covering Football Student Sections in Utah.

I feel like we got a solid grasp of Utah Student Sections last year, but we didn’t hear from them as much in 2023. Hopefully we are accurate this season.

The Utah Football Student Section Champion will move on to Regionals in hopes to get the National Championship banner as voting will now get involved!

So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Beehive State.

2023 UTAH FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

    1. Davis Mob

The Mob might be the largest Student Section in the state this season and its a huge compliment with a couple of insane Student Sections in Utah. They can pack the Student Section and love to show it off on Instagram. The photos are intimidating. We’ll see how the Mob will do in Regionals and Nationals, but for now, the Davis Mob is the 2024 Utah Football Student Section of the Year!

    1. Olympus O-Zone

The O-Zone looked like a fun group to be around with. They may make a mess of your shoes with the powder falling down, but it is definitely worth it.

    1. Corner Canyon Stable

We didn’t see the Stable that much, but we always know the Stable is solid. Hopefully we see more of them in 2024!

The Hype battled for the top spot in Utah, but this is just the norm for the Hype. It was another fun season for Pleasant Grove.

  • 2023 NEVADA FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

The time has come to start ranking 50 states that we covered this football season.

To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is an understatement.

We had 12 Student Section of the Week winners in Nevada and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.

This is our third year covering Football Student Sections in Nevada.

I feel like we got a solid grasp of Nevada Student Sections last year, but we didn’t hear from them as much in 2023. Hopefully we are accurate this season.

The Nevada Football Student Section Champion will move on to Regionals in hopes to get the National Championship banner as voting will now get involved!

So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Silver State.

2023 NEVADA FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

    1. Liberty Patriot Pit

The Patriot Pit did just enough to get the edge and finish at the top spot in the state. They were loud and in charge this season and we’ll see how they fare in Regionals and Nationals, but for now they’re the 2023 Nevada Football Student Section Champions!

    1. Bishop Gorman G-Block

G-Block is consider one of the finest Student Sections and you’d have a hard time arguing that, but they will have to consistency show off on social media in order to keep that debate a lock. No matter what, this is a very solid group of kids rooting for one of the best in the Nation. Maybe the Mater Dei Den will call out the G-Block at some point?

    1. Spanish Springs Cougar Den

I didn’t much from the Cougar Den compared to the past couple of seasons, but the few times you saw them, they didn’t disappoint.

    1. Foothill

Foothill got a lot better this fall. A huge move up in the rankings. I have to question if that young man is a grandfather though.

    1. Centennial Dawgpound

The Dawgpound showed some promise before the school year ended in June and they kept the hype as they get a Top 5 finish.

    1. Galena Riot Squad
    1. Sierra Vista Blue Crew
    1. Reed Raider Nation

2023 ARIZONA FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

    1. Liberty Uproar

The Uproar made a last second impression with showing off their school spirit on social media. Definitely tough to jump over Highland, but Liberty has one of the best football teams in the state, so there’s a solid reason why the Uproar can pack the stands and go wild! We’ll see how the Uproar will fare in Regionals and Nationals, but they’re the 2023 Arizona Football Student Section of the Year!

    1. Highland Nest

We didn’t hear from them as much as we did in the past couple of seasons, but we know of the Nest and this is an insane Student Section. They never take a break. Would be tough to keep them out of the Top 3. One of the best.

    1. Brophy Prep Stampede

The Stampede has always been regard as one of the best in Arizona and I felt they showed more in the stands and on social media than I’ve ever seen. Hoping we can see the full potential of this amazing Student Section. This looks like a crazy bunch!

    1. Higley Knightmare

The Knightmare social media showed off a fantastic group of kids with amazing school spirit! Definitely a Knightmare when other teams come into town.

    1. Desert Mountain Wolfden

The Wolfden was amazing this football season, but in one of the biggest rivalries in Arizona, the Battle on Shea Blvd. , the Wolfden stepped up and rocked the house. One of those rivalries that I would love to see in person one day!

  • 2023 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

We continue our Final Rankings in all of the 50 states we covered this football season.

To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is an understatement.

We had Student Section of the Week for over 10 weeks and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which one wanted it more.

Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want and marketing is key.

When we started covering Student Sections in 2015, it began with only Orange County, California. We expanded in 2017 to Southern California before expanding to other states last year.

Southern California is the headquarters of the Student Section Report and this regions means the world to me.

This group is so deep that we have honorable mentions that would battle for a state title elsewhere. A very deep region! the top 3 Student Sections in this region will be in the Top 10 in our National Rankings at the end of the month!

Let’s check out the Top 40 Football Student Section Rankings!

2023 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

    1. Chaparral Puma Pit (Inland Empire Region)

Puma Pit really crashed the party in many ways. Not even a Top 5 jump in the IE Rankings, but this Student Section will definitely battle for a National Championship. This is an insane Student Section and it has to be insane when one of the best Student Sections in the nation happens to be in the same town as you. The Puma Pit can throw a party in the stand we will see how they can handle the voting in the in Regionals and hopefully Nationals, but for now the Chaparral Puma Pit is the 2023 Inland Empire and Southern California Football Student Section of the Year!

    1. Carlsbad Loud Crowd (San Diego)

San Diego Football Student Sections is a battle for the number two ranking because is it super tough to go over Carlsbad. The Loud Crowd is respected by many across the country as one of the nation’s best. The football definitely gets hyped up for their Student Section. The flares, confetti, the smoke, the endless cheers, you can definitely see why people have mistaken this Student Section as a college. For six time in the last seven seasons, the Carlsbad Loud Crowd is the San Diego Football Student Section of the Year!

    1. Great Oak Red Wave (Inland Empire)

The Inland Empire is a tough one with some of the best Student Sections to come in basically the same area surrounding Interstate 15 (the 15 Freeway as we SoCal peeps call it). The Red Wave has been consistantly one of the best for years and they will get their National Title one day. You can automatically put the Red Wave in the Top 10 every year at the very least. They have a Hall of Fame type leader on Don Skaggs who has turn insane and amazing Red Wave leaders. This Student Section will never go away. Amazing group of kids….amazing!

    1. Frontier Titan Noise Team (Kern/San Luis Obispo)

Frontier loved showing off their Student Section. They also loved rocking the Black and Blue. Frontier had to get pass a couple of solid Student Sections and they almost took down two of the biggest Student Section powers in the country. Respect. The Frontier Noise Team is the 2023 Kern/San Luis Obispo Football Student Section of the Year.

    1. Redondo Union Flock (Los Angeles)

The Flock was insane this football season. They followed the game and threw a party in the stands, something some Student Section tend to have a hard time mixing up. The Flock showed a lot of love for their football team (and yours truly). Redondo Union just went back-to-back as the 2023 Los Angeles Football Student Section of the Year!

    1. Servite Asylum (Orange County)

The Asylum controlled Orange County this football season. One of the craziest Student Sections in the county that has built a dynasty in the OC. The black tie theme (Formerly known as Coach Troy Thomas Theme, who is no longer at the school) and the 80’s theme was insane. This didn’t seem like an argument as the Servite Asylum is the 2023 Orange County Football Student Section of the Year!

2023 NEW MEXICO FINAL TOP 25 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

    1. St. Michael’s Blue Crew

The Blue Crew wasn’t even ranked in our preseason rankings, but they impressed me and made it tough to pick who was the best in New Mexico. We’ll see how they’lll fare in Regionals and Nationals, but for now, St. Michael’s Blue Crew is the 2023 New Mexico Football Student Section of the Year!

    1. La Cueva

    1. Farmington Rowdy Crowd

The Rowdy Crowd stays in the Top 5 for 2023 after taking the state title last fall. The Rowdy Crowd always packs the stands!

    1. Hobbs

Hobbs has always been a rowdy Student Section and you can’t blame them with the amazing athletic programs they have at the school. It is definitely helpful when the team attracts fans, but that Student Section alone can attraction more kids to go nuts!

Let’s take a quick timeout from the Final State Rankings and go back to the Student Section Report roots!

When this Student Section Rankings started with OC Sidelines in 2015, I didn’t expect an overwhelming reaction. We remember naming La Habra Clan (Now the La Habra Highlander Huddle) was our first Football Student Section Champion.

We extend the Student Section Rankings to Southern California when OCSidelines became SoCal Sidelines with Murrieta Mesa being the 2016 SoCal Student Section Champions. When SoCalSidelines went out of business, we began SoCal Student Sections, which later became the Student Section Report.

While we are the first and only ones to ever rank Student Sections all 50 states, it all started in Southern California, so I have still have knowledge of the Student Section scene in SoCal despite focusing in all 50 states.

The winners in each of the five SoCal Regions will battle in a SoCal Football Student Section of the Year voting starting on Wednesday. The winner will go to Regionals and potentially Nationals.

2023 SAN DIEGO TOP 20 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

    1. Carlsbad Loud Crowd

For the Loud Crowd, the job is not done, they want the National Championship, but they have to get past everyone in SoCal and then Regionals and then Nationals, but for now and for six time in the last seven seasons, the Carlsbad Loud Crowd is the San Diego Football Student Section of the Year!

  • 2023 ARIZONA FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION TOP 40 PRESEASON RANKINGS

In 2015, yours truly began covering Student Sections in Orange County, California. We expanded to Southern California in 2017 and two years ago, we added four more states and added 15 more states. We went to 40 states last fall.

This last winter, we went to all 50 states. No one has ever done that before…until now!

This is still a one-man operation for the most part.

I know that Student Sections have a lot of work to do to get the students to the games to cheer on their classmates and go along with the theme and make sure they don’t cause trouble. These student sections deserve recognition.

We will kick off the Student Section season with Preseason Football Student Section Rankings. REMEMBER, this is a PREVIEW. It is merely a prediction. The real rankings come out in November or December.

If you feel your student section isn’t ranked high enough or not ranked at all, let us know and we’ll keep a close eye on them.

Every week, we will also have Student Section of the Week for each state. Once you win Student Section of the Week, you can’t win it again, but you still have to battle for the top spot in your state and perhaps the Nation as we will also name a Football Student Section National Champion.

We continue with the 2023 Football Student Section Season with a preview of Arizona.

I have checked out Arizona Student Sections during basketball season the last two seasons, but I have yet to see the football side in Arizona. This state is loaded with great Student Sections and they will battle to dethrone the defending State Champs.

Last season, the Highland Nest took the title as the best Student Section in Arizona. The Nest ran away with this, but I expect other Student Sections to jump in and battle for the top spot this fall. Some Student Sections have shown a strong showing so far.

In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for Arizona, it’s the Canyon del Sol Tribe. During football season, the Tribe is quiet, but they are making noise as the season begins in Arizona. I expect this to keep going throughout the whole season.

Can the Tribe be on the top in the Grand Canyon State? Let’s find out.

2023 ARIZONA FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION TOP 40 PRESEASON RANKINGS

    1. Chaparral Birdcage

The Birdcage is rarely seen in comparison to other Student Sections, but I have a feeling we will see them more often on social media. A solid Student Section that has indicated that they will prove they are number one this fall. It will take a lot to push Highland out of the top spot, but the Birdcage is ready!

We continue with the 2023 Football Student Section Season with a preview of New Mexico.

We’ve covered New Mexico last season, but we didn’t get much from them. We hope to see and give them more exposure on here and on social media.

Last season, the Farmington Rowdy Crowd took the title as the best Student Section in New Mexico. It will be tough for them to repeat, but it is there’s to lose.

In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for New Mexico, it’s  Roswell. Many people associate Roswell with sci-fi and aliens, but this Student Section might be aliens themselves because they’re out of this world…not a good pun, sorry about that.

Can Roswell knock off Farmington and take over the top spot in New Mexico? Let’s find out.

    1. Volcano Vista Hawk Nation

We continue with the 2023 Football Student Section Season with a preview of Nevada.

We’ve covered Nevada in the past and it is a battle for the top spot. A lot of super solid Student Sections in the city of Sin. Big gamble in the rankings…pun intended!

Last season, the Bishop Gorman G-Block took the football Student Section state title after falling super short the previous year. The G-Block should have what it takes to repeat in 2023.

In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for Nevada, it’s the Galena Riot Squad. This football team has improved in each of the two seasons we have covered this state. When a team improves, so does its Student Section. We’re hoping the Riot Squad goes crazy this fall.

Will the Riot Squad cause a ruckus and bump the G-Block out of the top spot? Let’s find out.

2023 NEVADA FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION TOP 40 PRESEASON RANKINGS

    1. Bishop Gorman G-Block

G-Block will have a handful of Student Sections coming to dethrone them, but thankfully they have a football team that is used to that situation. The G-Block and the Gaels are the best in Nevada and are crazy in the stands and on the field!

We continue with the 2023 Football Student Section Season with a preview of Southern California.

SoCal is our bread and butter as we are located here in Orange County. The Student Section Report started as SoCal Student Sections in 2018 and before that we covered SoCal at SoCal Sidelines in 2015. While we have grown outside of SoCal, it is still one of the best to cover. Amazing school spirit down here!

Last Football season, we had Carlsbad Loud Crowd as the top Football Student Section in SoCal. Can they repeat and be on top in not just SoCal, but the best Student Section in the nation. The Loud Crowd battled for the National Title, but my once small website crashed during the voting and the Loud Crowd couldn’t make a go for it. If they can get past everyone in SoCal, put your money down for them to take the National Title.

In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for SoCal, it’s the La Serna Kingdom. The Kingdom battled for the top spot in LA with Redondo Union Flock, but now with no region rankings in SoCal, they will battle with the best all around SoCal. I think the Kingdom will make a splash and battle with the best this season.

Will the Kingdom get past the Loud Crowd, Great Oak Red Wave and the Flock? We’ll find out.

2023 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION TOP 40 PRESEASON RANKINGS

    1. Carlsbad Loud Crowd

The Loud Crowd has a dynasty on their hands and that is not easy to do in one of the toughest regions in the country. This should be the Loud Crowd year to take the National Title. All they have to do is the same thing they’ve been doing on social media. Show off that school spirit.

This is a tough one for Hawaii and our thoughts and prayers are with them with the recent fires that has taken innocent lives. Student Section season might be different or perhaps non-existent. Whatever the path is, we support it.

Last Football season, we had Punahou as the top Football Student Section in Hawaii. Can they repeat as Hawaii best or will someone push them past the tide?

In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for Hawaii, it’s the Iolani. We continue with the 2023 Football Student Section Season with a preview of Utah.

When we covered Student Sections in Utah, I noticed a bunch of fantastic and rowdy Student Sections. A lot of great pride in Utah and I love it. This state will probably be one of the best Student Section states in the US!

Last Football season, we had Corner Canyon Stable as the top Football Student Section in Utah. Can they repeat and be on top over some of the countries best Student Sections in the nation that happen to be in the same state?

In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for Utah, it’s the Davis Mob.
