The playoffs are at the halfway point. Remember, we still have the CIF SoCal Regionals and the CIF State Finals. So, student sections know that their basketball teams have tough games ahead of them and many of them showed up with school spirit and loud chants and louder cheers. Plus, with the SoCal Basketball Top 20 Student Section Rankings coming out in next week, this is also a last chance to make a strong impression. Let’s meet our finalists and name our SoCal Student Section champion this week.   One of the best student sections in San Diego, the Torrey Pines Chaos of San Diego, prepared for the CIF-San Diego Section Open Division and most importantly for The Chaos, prepared for the Poway Titans, ranked No. 8 in San Diego. The Chaos delivered as always...
Photo Courtesy of @LACourtReport   With the playoffs underway, you can expect the student sections to get wild as one slip and the season is over. These three student section had big reasons to dial it up a notch. This week student section champ made the best of a final tuneup before the playoffs...the same goes for the team as well. Let’s meet this week finalist and introduce you to this week champion! The Great Oak Red Wave of Temecula hosted King of Riverside for round one of the CIF-SS Division 2A playoffs. The Red Wave is well known as a rowdy student section and after a tough rebuilding year during football season, so the student section has been due for an eruption and what better way than the postseason. Despite the loss, the Red...
It seems like rushing the court was the theme last week. Two of our four SoCal Student Section of the week finalists celebrated in extreme ways One celebrated a buzzer beating three pointer to win a league title while another rushed the court in the middle of the game. Whatever floats your boat I suppose. What helped this particular student section was that they worked the social media market very well and we noticed it. It is something other student sections in their league fail to do. Maybe they should take note. Anyway enough belittling, let’s meet our SoCal Student Section of the week finalists.   The Bishop Montgomery Swaglet of Torrance is considered a dynasty in the Los Angeles region. They come in large numbers and rock any theme. They also rock the stands,...
When you knock out one of the best teams in San Diego, you’d expect your student section to go wild. And that’s what the Loud Crowd did. After cheering their Lancers on to victory over Torrey Pines, ranked No. 17 in SoCal and No. 2 in San Diego, the Loud Crowd went to the voting polls and battled against three tough student sections. Let’s meet the finalist. The Chaminade Cage of West Hills is always known for having a legit football student section and basketball is no different. The Cage rocked the gym for two home games, which in return were two big Mission League victories over Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks, ranked No. 14 in LA, and Harvard-Westlake of Studio City, ranked No. 19 in SoCal and No. 7 in LA. It was a...
The Rancho Cucamonga Rancho Rooters are picking up where they left off. After taking the 2018 SoCal Football Student Section Football Title, the Rancho Rooters returned to the sidelines and went wild for their Cougars, ranked No. 9 in the IE, who are in the top half of the Baseline League, one of the strongest basketball leagues in Southern California. Perhaps they can take the Inland Empire Student Section title again, this time for basketball. The same can be said for the SoCal title. The Rancho Rooters ran away with the title and it should be no surprise, they have been known as one of the best student sections for the last several years. The Rancho Rooters had competition, including my Alma Mater. Let’s meet the SoCal Basketball Student Section Finalist. The St. John Bosco...
This was an obvious choice, but it seems other think otherwise. The Asylum of Servite of Anaheim rocked it this past week on the road against Mater Dei of Santa Ana. They brought their A game plus more, but three other student sections across the Southland came to play as well.   The Damien Pit of La Verne is an insane student section and they had a big week. A win at home against Upland and to top it off, they brought their A game on the road against Chino Hills. The Spartans needed that extra push from The Pit and it worked with an overtime victory over Chino Hills. I’ve seen the Pit before and they know how to rock a student section. The St. Augustine Saints Pit of San Diego went a little...
After many student section went to social media to show off their student section with school spirit through video or photo. After naming 11 Student Sections as the SoCal Student Section of the week and rankings 20 of the best student section in each SoCal region (Inland Empire, Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego), we have finally put our first SoCal Football Student Section Rankings. https://twitter.com/SoCalSections/status/1062466278873579520?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1062466278873579520%7Ctwgr%5E363937393b70726f64756374696f6e&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fsocalstudentsections.com%2F2018%2F11%2F19%2F2018-socal-football-student-section-of-the-year-rancho-rooters%2F Last Week, we had each of the Student Section of the year from each SoCal region put in a voting poll and the votes were very close, but in the end it was the Rancho Rooters of Rancho Cucamonga. Here are the final 2018 SoCal Football Student Section Top 25 Rankings. Sometimes, the student section rally like their football team. Rancho Cucamonga went through a very tough football schedule and started the season 0-4. It is tough to get your student section going after a slow start. However, the Rancho Rooters stood behind their student section and showed tremendous support. The Rooters kept the stands filled and in return, the Cougars won the last six regular season games, including their Baseline League Championship game against rival Upland. The Cougars kept the ball rolling as they went to the CIF-SS Division I quarterfinals. The Rancho Rooters have been huge during the run and took the Week 10 SoCal Student Section of the Week award. After being loud and crazy all season, the Rancho Rooters took the top spot in our 2018 Inland Empire Student Section Football Rankings....
This region might be the biggest one out of the four, well, it is. Although the student sections are strong in the Los Angeles region, the social media is far behind from the other SoCal region. Not even close. Manny, that was mean. Yeah, maybe it was, but the idea for this website is to create acknowledgement for student sections doing great work as well as other things which will be discussed on the website soon. Social media is going to play a massive massive factor if a student section wants to get more recognition than just the local spots. Some student sections may disagree with the rankings, but if you think you have a better student section, you had all football season to post a few photos and a few videos of your...
It should come to no surprise, but the Inland Empire is the deepest when it comes to Student Sections in Southern California. The top of the list was tough as you have the top eight student sections on this list that could be the best student section in the IE at any time while the bottom of the list might be missing several other student sections. It is no wonder that the Inland Empire had five student sections winning the SoCal Student Section of the Week. That’s the most out of the four SoCal regions. Thanks for making this hard for me! This week will end with the SoCal Top 25 Student Section Rankings on Friday, so for the top half of the student section, be ready, you might be on that list too. Now,...
