The time has come to start ranking 50 states that we covered this football season. 

To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is an understatement.

We had 12 Student Section of the Week winners in Maryland and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.

Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want it and marketing is key. 

You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

I know Student Sections complain, but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

This is our first year covering Football Student Sections in Maryland, so we hope we are accurate.

If it weren’t for the help of our good friends at Maryland Student Section Rater (@mdstudentsectionrater on Instagram), we wouldn’t have an accurate list, but thanks to their help and their expertise, this is a list I can trust!

The Maryland Football Student Section Champion will move on to Regionals in hopes to get the National Championship banner as voting will now get involved!

So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Old Line State.

2023 MARYLAND FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

  1. Archbishop Spalding Rowdy Red

Rowdy Red definitely rocks the Red. They also can rock White and Blue. This Student Section is insane and they love showing off the insanity on social media. Every week was a party in the stands. We will see how Rowdy Red will do in Regionals and Nationals, but for now, Archbishop Spalding Rowdy Red is the 2023 Maryland Football Student Section of the Year!

  1. Northwest Jag Nation

Jag Nation seems to love wearing black. It makes them look like a scary Student Section. Whatever it takes to rattle the opposing team. The themes and the powder makes it a perfect combo for Jag Nation.

  1. Linganore Tribe

The Tribe looks like one of the larger Student Section in the state. The Tribe prepares for battle and makes sure they are too loud for any opposing team that gets in their football team way.

  1. Quince Orchard Red Army

The Red Army didn’t just rock the red well, they also rocked the black theme as well. The Red Army can pack the stands and go nuts every Friday!

  1. Frederick Sabre Nation

Sabre Nation social media is consistent and they showed a rowdy group of kids in the stands. I can expect this Student Section to go nuts in the winter. A very consistent Student Section that you see at the very least the Top 5 in Maryland.
