MANNY’S WEEK 10 TOP GAMES SOCAL GAMES
Last Week’s Overall Record: 13-7
Current Overall Record: 150-48-2
MANNY’S INLAND EMPIRE GAMES OF THE WEEK
Last Week’s IE Record: 3-2
Current IE Record: 39-11
No. 7 Upland (8-1, 4-0) at Rancho Cucamonga (5-4, 4-0), Friday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Upland
The Baseline League title is on the line. The Scots will send a pair of Davis’ in WR Taj Davis an RB Cameron Davis. It could be a tough task for DB Mark Perry and the Rancho Cucamonga defense. The Cougars five game winning streak ends and Upland repeats as Baseline League champs.
No. 19 Rancho Verde of Moreno Valley (9-0, 2-0) at Heritage of Romoland (7-2, 2-0), Friday, 7:30pm
Manny’s Pick: Heritage
The winner of this game is the Ivy League champion. Heritage defense has been amazing thanks to the play of MLB Ika Tuatala. If they can stop Mustangs RB Xavier Ugorji and the Patriots get a great game from RB Kenny Teter, then Heritage will take this game and the Ivy League.
Vista Murrieta (7-2, 4-0) at Murrieta Valley (6-3, 4-0), Thursday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Vista Murrieta
This big time rivalry game just got a little better. This one is for the Southwestern League title. The Nighthawks have been relying on QB Hank Bachmeier, but Vista Murrieta defense has been lit with DB Myles Martin and LB Samuela Mounga taking charge. I’m going with the Broncos in a loud one. Expect both student section to kill it.
Apple Valley (9-0, 4-0) at Oak Hills of Hesperia (7-2, 4-0), Friday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Oak Hills
The Mojave River League title comes down to these two team. The Bulldogs will look for WR Mikey Delgado to lead the way past DB/WR Xander Witt and Apple Valley. Oak Hills hands the Sun Devils their first loss as they take the Mojave River League title.
Kaiser of Fontana (8-1, 4-0) at Grand Terrace (6-3, 4-0), Friday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Kaiser
The Sunkist League title is up for grabs and despite the Titans going with QB Mekhi Lewis, I’m going to go with Kaiser as they take first place in league. The Cats take it.
MANNY’S LOS ANGELES GAMES OF THE WEEK
Last Week’s LA Record: 5-0
Current LA Record: 39-11
No. 14 Narbonne of Harbor City (6-3, 4-0) at Carson (5-4, 4-0), Friday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Narbonne
The Marine League title is upon us, but Carson will have a tough time with the Gauchos secondary, led by DB Mykeal Wright. Narbonne cruises to another title.
Camarillo (9-0, 3-0) vs. Grace Brethren of Simi Valley (7-2, 3-0) at Moorpark College, Friday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Grace Brethren
The Camino League title comes down to these two teams. The Scorpions will rely on LB Drew Carter, but Grace Brethren has a pair of linebackers of their own in Stanley Taufoou and Justin Skidmore. Lancers take the league championship.
Northview of Covina (9-0, 4-0) at San Dimas (8-1, 4-0), Friday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Northview
The Valle Vista League title comes down to this game. The Vikings have a set of Thompson’s in WR Damion Thompson and RB Deshon Thompson. QB Dylan O’Leary will try to keep San Dimas up to pace, but i’m going with Northview to take the league title and cap off the perfect regular season.
Crenshaw of Los Angeles (4-5, 4-0) vs. Dorsey of Los Angeles (4-5, 4-0) at Rancho Cienega Park of Los Angeles, Friday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Dorsey
One of the biggest rivalries in the CIF-LA City Section will come with a price, the Coliseum League title. The Dons will hope TE Isaiah Smalls and DE Tim Mosley can get them the league title. Dorsey will get the title and take the rivalry victory over Crenshaw.
La Serna of Whittier (8-1, 4-0) at El Rancho of Pico Rivera (7-2, 4-0), Friday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: La Serna
The Del Rio League title is on the line and the Lancers will look to their defense, led by LB pair Abraham Shalash and Justin Sanchez. Pico Rivera will hope QB Jakob Moeller avoids that linebacker duo, but defense wins league championships. La Serna takes Del Rio.
MANNY’S ORANGE COUNTY GAMES OF THE WEEK
Last Week’s OC Record: 3-2
Current OC Record: 38-12
Valencia of Placentia (8-1, 4-0) vs Cypress (5-4, 3-1) at Western of Anaheim, Thursday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Valencia
The Tigers aren’t done yet. They need to beat Cypress to take the Empire League title. Lose and Cypress takes the title away from them. WR Isaac Hurtado will look to lead the Centurions to a big victory, but he’ll have to get by DB Michael Garcia and RB Nathan Sandoval will lead the offense and lead Valencia to the Empire League title.
Ocean View of Huntington Beach (8-1, 1-1) at Western of Anaheim (8-1, 2-0), Friday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Western
We could have a tri-League champion in the Pac-4 League if Ocean View beats the Pioneers and Laguna Beach wins. Western QB Anthony Munoz will look to WR Caine Savage while Seahawks QB Noah Hickman will try to match that offense. Western wins and keeps the Pac-4 League title to themselves.
Segerstrom of Santa Ana (8-1, 2-0) at Garden Grove (8-1, 2-0), Thursday, 7:00pm
Manny’s Pick: Garden Grove
The Big 4 League title comes down to these two teams as expected. The Argonauts have been amazing in the running back department the last several years and RB Mike Carillo won’t disappoint against Segerstrom. Garden Grove wins another league title, but this time, it’s in the Big 4 League.
Orange (8-1, 4-0) vs. Santa Ana (7-2, 4-0) at Santa Ana Stadium, Friday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Orange
As expected, the Orange Coast League title runs through these two teams. Both offenses are on a roll during league play, so i’m expecting Panthers QB Daylen Pedroza and Santa Ana QB Drew Ramirez to battle it out. I’m picking Orange in a close one to take league.
Rancho Alamitos of Garden Grove (6-3, 4-0) vs. Loara of Anaheim (7-2, 4-0) at Glover Stadium of Anaheim, Friday, 4pm
Manny’s Pick: Rancho Alamitos
The Saxons have surprised everyone and i’m expecting another big game from QB Matt Blackney, but Rancho Alamitos has QB Michael Lee back as well as RB Nathan Kanyavong. As much as I like to see Loara win this after going 3-27 the last three seasons, the Vaqueros are just too much. The Garden Grove League champs are the Vaqueros.
MANNY’S SAN DIEGO GAMES OF THE WEEK
Last Week San Diego Record: 2-3
Overall San Diego Record: 34-14-2
Otay Ranch of Chula Vista (6-3, 4-0) at No. 20 Eastlake of Chula Vista (8-1, 4-0), Friday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Eastlake
Otay Ranch battles for the Metro-Mesa League title, but the Eastlake defense will shut any chance the Mustangs have to win with LB Josh McCurty leading the defense. The Titans takes the win and the league.
Rancho Bernardo of San Diego (7-2, 4-0) at Poway (7-2, 4-0), Friday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Rancho Bernardo
The Palomar League title is on the line and the Broncos offense will look to WR Johnny Tanner to lead the offense. Rancho Bernardo handles Poway and returns back on top.
Ramona (6-2, 4-0) at Valley Center (6-3, 4-0), Friday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Ramona
The Valley League title is one the line. Valley Center LB Ben Wierenga will look to stop Bulldogs QB Derek Diamond, but we are sure LB Jack Drews will do the same as he leads Ramona to a league title victory.
West Hills of Santee (8-1, 3-0) at Monte Vista of Spring Valley (8-1, 3-0), Friday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Monte Vista
The Grossmont-Valley League title comes down to this game. QB Jordin Young will try to lead West Hills to victory, but Monte Vista has running back Jahmon McClendon. The Monarchs will cruise to the Grossmont-Valley League title with a win.
Central of El Centro (9-0, 4-0) at Brawley (8-1, 4-0), Friday, 7pm
Manny’s Pick: Brawley
The Imperial Valley League is up for grabs and Central wants to finish the season undefeated and to do that, they’ll need WR Thadeo Campbell to have a big game. The Wildcats LB duo Casey Kline and Michael Moreno will try to stop him. Brawley takes the league title.
