SoCal Regional Student Section of the Week: (02/19/2020)

Every week, we do the SoCal Student Section of the Week, but it got us thinking, with over 2000 schools in Southern California, why just name one winner?

That’s why we will acknowledge four regional winners and any nominees in those regions.

We bring you, the SoCal Student Section Regional Student Section of the Week…try saying that five times fast.

INLAND EMPIRE STUDENT SECTION OF THE WEEK

BONITA DEN: The Den of La Verne packed the gym last Friday when the Bearcats hosted San Marcos in the second round of the CIF-SS Boys Basketball playoffs.

I should mention that they packed the stands 30 minutes before tip-off.

The Den was electric, loud and savage with some chants as the Bearcats had the lead and never looked back.

My favorite part of course was Scott, the Bonita Superfan, who got the crowd going while they played YMCA at halftime. Young man has some moves!

ORANGE COUNTY STUDENT SECTION OF THE WEEK

FAIRMONT PREP LOUD CROWD: The Loud Crowd of Anaheim came to the scene last year, but despite being a small private school, has moved up with the big boys in the student section world and it showed last week.

The Loud Crowd came ready to go in two home games last week when the Huskies hosted Edison of Huntington Beach and the Edison MESS (Mighty Edison Student Section) came to visit.

While the MESS showed up in small numbers, they battled with the Loud Crowd, but the Loud Crowd controlled their home.

The next task was difficult, but it pushed the Loud Crowd up in next week OC Top 25 Rankings.

The Capistrano Valley Cage of Mission Viejo took the road trip to invade Fairmont Prep. A large group for a road game, but the Loud Crowd battled and so did the Huskies as they took another home win.

The Loud Crowd leaders return next year, which is going to be scary for student sections all over Southern California.

SAN DIEGO STUDENT SECTION OF THE WEEK

MT. CARMEL RED SEA: Despite a lack of social media presence, the Red Sea of San Diego still got exposed on Instagram and the rewards finally came to them in SoCal.

The Red Sea packed the stands and went wild when the Sundevils hosted Westview of San Diego.

You have to prepare for the Westview Blackhole and the Red Sea was ready for them.

Despite a losing season, the Red Sea stilled showed up and showed love for their Sundevils.
