SoCal Student Section Regional Student Sections of the Week: (01/22/2020)

Every week, we do the SoCal Student Section of the Week, but it got us thinking, with over 2000 schools in Southern California, why just name one winner?

That’s why we will acknowledge four regional winners and any nominees in those regions.

We bring you, the SoCal Student Section Regional Student Section of the Week…try saying that five times fast.

INLAND EMPIRE STUDENT SECTION OF THE WEEK

ETIWANDA EAGLES NEST: The Eagles Nest informed me that they didn’t know that we awarded the best student sections in basketball the same way we do in football.

First off, been doing that for years, where have you been and secondly, that wasn’t the Eagles Nest best?

Now that they know, we might see the Eagles Nest blow up this month and battle for the Inland Empire Student Section title at the end of February.

The Eagles Nest brought it last week, especially on Friday when Etiwanda welcomed Damien of La Verne. A big game in the Baseline League with first place on the line.

The Eagles Nest was ready and so was Etiwanda in their 82-60 victory.

Now that the Eagles Nest know of the competition, they’ll be ready to bring it.

Other IE Nominations: Vista Murrieta Bronco Bleacher Creatures

LOS ANGELES STUDENT SECTION OF THE WEEK

Other LA Nominations: West Covina Bulldog Nation, West Ranch Pack

ORANGE COUNTY STUDENT SECTION OF THE WEEK

CORONA DEL MAR KINGS KREW: The Kings Krew of Newport Beach showed up in a big rivalry known as the Battle of the Bay as they hosted Newport Harbor of Newport Beach.

A packed house and the Kings Krew battled with the Newport Harbor Tarpit and it was a battle on the court that went into an extra frame in the Sailors 57-55 overtime victory over Corona del Mar.

What made it special for the Kings Krew is that they did the Teddy Bear toss in the first half of the game.

Normally you see the student section rush the court in the first half or throw toilet paper, but this seems better than the other two options.

Such a cool thing for them to do on top of battling in the stands with the Tarpit to stand out on top in a region that is flooded with amazing student sections that know how to market themselves.

Other OC Nominations: Servite Asylum, Northwood Den, Newport Harbor Tarpit, Canyon Tribe, Villa Park Blue Crew, Edison MESS, Los Alamitos Locos, Fairmont Prep Loud Crowd

SAN DIEGO STUDENT SECTION OF THE WEEK

CARLSBAD LOUD CROWD: The Loud Crowd came to battle against San Marcos and the Blue Crew last week and the Loud Crowd brought in a pregame show that was not too shabby.

The Loud Crowd cheered on the Lancers in their 60-57 victory over San Marcos.

Other SD Nominations: St. Augustine Saints Pit
