STUDENT SECTION BATTLES OF THE WEEK (AUG. 21-AUG. 23 2025)
The school year and the fall sports season is underway, but for us, the Student Section season is underway!
We are so excited to kickoff the new Student Section season. This is my 10th season covering Student Sections and my 5th season covering the US and the hype keeps getting better and better.
We have seven states that kicked off last week and have 16 more states kicking off this week with 21 more next week! We are going to be busy these next couple of weeks!
Something we haven’t done since 2021 is spotlighting a Student Section or highlighting a Student Section with two schools like a big rivalry!
Let’s checkout the Student Section battles or the Student Sections that we expect to have a big week!
STUDENT SECTION BATTLES OF THE WEEK (AUG. 21-AUG. 23 2025)
KENTUCKY – STUDENT SECTION BATTLE OF THE WEEK
PADUCAH-TILGHMAN v. MCCRACKEN COUNTY STANG GANG
The city of Paducah is going to have a fun night to kickoff the football season when city rivals meetup! Both of these teams are pretty good, but there Student Sections are both super solid! Stang Gang has been terrific and so has Paducah-Tilghman. This is going to be a very loud one on Friday!
ALABAMA
SPAIN PARK v. SPARKMAN
Sparkman had a solid Student Section in 2023, but took a step back on Instagram last year. We know they’ll be in the stands going crazy, especially if Spain Park Student Section shows up, but we also hope they show off their Student Section on Instagram!
ALASKA
CHUGIAK v. SOLDOTNA
Soldotna is the new top ranked team in Alaska according to MaxPreps.com. That has to be a pretty good reason for their Student Section to show up on a Friday. They do promote their themes, so I can assume they’ll be there!
ARIZONA
SABINO v. VALLEY CHRISTIAN BLUE CREW
The Blue Crew will take center stage in Arizona with some of the top Student Section in the state waiting another week. Blue Crew better take advantage of this opportunity. I think they will. We don’t talk about this Student Section enough!
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
TURLOCK DOG POUND v. ROCKLIN STORM
This is actually going to be a great one to watch on the field, but can you imagine if this turned into a Student Section battle? If the Dog Pound could, they would travel to Rocklin, but this will be a big game for the Storm as they need to play a big part as the 12th Man against a team that just as good as their own!
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
ST. PAUL v. BISHOP AMAT DAWGPOUND
To say there is bad blood between these two football teams is an understatement. This is a big rivalry and what a way to start a football season. St. Paul finally ended a losing streak to Bishop Amat where a fan stomped on the Lancers flag in front of them. I’m sure that image stuck and the Dawgpound knows they will have to step it up and go nuts on Friday. St. Paul also has a Student Section, but it is not as crazy as the Dawgpound. This will be a fun battle on Friday!
COLORADO
LIBERTY v. MOUNTAIN VISTA UNIT
Not a lot of big Student Sections battling it out this Friday Colorado…except for the Unit. This Student Section is legit and will battle for the Student Section Title in Colorado! The social media game is on point and I expect the Unit to show off and show out on Friday!
FLORIDA
TRINITY CATHOLIC v. TAMPA CATHOLIC GREEN LOCOS
Green Locos showed up big last week for a scrimmage. That was their prep work before the real games begin. I expect the Green Locos to have a big year this Fall. It all starts for them in this matchup.
GEORGIA
NORCROSS BLUE CREW v. MILL CREEK FREAKS
This would be a great Student Section Battle and maybe it can be if the Blue Crew makes the trip. Would be a good one in the stands. The Creek Freaks will look to make a mess in the stands and hopefully the distraction will make it a mess on the field for Norcross. That’s the goal after all.
HAWAII
LOS ALAMITOS LOCOS v. KAPOLEI
Now, I doubt the Locos will fly in for this one…honestly wouldn’t surprise me being that they’ve traveled far for games. Kapolei is among many Hawaiian teams that will host out of state teams early in the season and the Student Section will be ready to greet them with some rattling, I’m sure of that!
IDAHO
COEUR D’ ALENE v. RIGBY MAROON MILITIA
Maroon Militia is looking to battle for that top spot in the Student Section Rankings and this game can give them a strong start. This could be a Student Section Battle with Coeur d’ Alene and if that is the case, Maroon Militia will be ready!
INDIANA
CARMEL v. FISHERS TIGER CAGE
The defending Indiana Football Student Section Champions will look to defend their title this Friday. I also know the Tiger Cage will look to make their case for a Fall Student Section National Championship. Carmel can make a super strong case if they show up for the road game. Carmel is just as solid as Fishers and that would be a fun battle in the stands to watch!
IOWA
REGINA v. CLEAR CREEK-AMANA
Not a lot of big time Student Sections battling it out to kickoff the season, but Clear Creek-Amana has a solid Student Section and they’ll look to start strong and make a case to be one of the best Student Sections in the state by seasons end.
NEVADA
BASIC ACADEMY BLUMANATI v. LAS VEGAS
Blumanati showed up big last week, but they’ll need to take this show on the road to rattle their opponent and face the defending Football Student Section Champions in Nevada. If they do, it will be a fun one to be at in the stands while watching a great game on the field.
NEW MEXICO
ALOMOGORDO v. DEMING
I spoke with Deming yesterday and they look like they want to battle it out for the top spot this Fall. I expect Deming to really show off from the jump and make a strong case for the top spot this fall. It all start with this game!
NORTH CAROLINA
SOUTH MECKLENBURG v CHARLOTTE CATHOLIC COUGAR DEN
The Cougar Den didn’t really show off their Student Section as much as the top Student Sections did, but they have a Student Section that can be considered one of the best in the state if they showed it off on Instagram! The Cougar Den get that opportunity to show everyone they have one of or the best Student Section in North Carolina on Friday!
NORTH DAKOTA
SHILOH CHRISTIAN v. HAZEN
With some of the top Student Sections in the state not playing or not at home, this is the opportunity for Hazen to take the spotlight and show off their Student Section on Instagram. Will Hazen join the ranks of some of the best Student Sections in the state?
OHIO
LAKOTA WEST RED SEA v. ST. XAVIER BOMB SQUAD
St. Xavier is feeling like they should start the season as the top Student Section in Ohio and they’ll get a chance to prove that to everyone as the Bombers host Lakota West. Would be nice if the Red Sea traveled, but we’ll see if they show and create a Student Section battle. St. Xavier will show up and we hope they do the same on Instagram!
PENNSYLVANIA
CANON-MCMILLAN v. PETERS TOWNSHIP
Peters Township chatted with a day ago and mentioned they have the best Student Section in the state. Time to prove it or eat your words as Peters Township host Canon-McMillan. This Student Section will look to prove that they’re a solid Student Section as they will have to show off on Instagram. This will be an important one for this Student Section!
SOUTH CAROLINA
DANIEL v. CHAPMAN PANTHER PATIO
Chapman was the top ranked Student Section in the state two years ago, but took a dip last year. The Panther Patio will look to bounce back and be one of the top dawgs in 2025. Panther Patio knows the deal. They have to show off their Student Section on Instagram and that will get them back in the Student Section race.
TENNESSEE
HENDERSONVILLE v. GALLATIN TSUNAMI
A couple of years ago the Tsunami gave me some grief about not recognizing them as one of the best Student Sections in Tennessee. They’re right about not getting enough credit for being one of the best in the state. This is a solid Student Section, but in order to be one of the best, they have to show off their Student Section on Instagram. They can start this Friday. They deserve a good ranking.
UTAH
OREM AMBUSH v. LONE PEAK UKNIGHTED
I know Orem Ambush travels and I hope they can bring a good number of kids to this game to support their team because Lone Peak Student Section looks insane based off the photos and videos, so you know they’ll be ready to go on Friday. Photos and videos on Instagram will be super helpful! This will look like a solid one in the stands.
WISCONSIN
KIMBERLY RED SWARM v. HAMILTON
This is another one that has the makings of a Student Section battle if the Red Swarm shows up. Road Warriors are tough, but Hamilton will be ready regardless. They will look to make a statement for the top spot of the state as far as Student Sections are concerned.
