I have figured out the student section formula. Name your student section the Dawgpound. For the fourth time this season, our SoCal Student Section of the Week is named the Dawgpound. Let’s check out last week SoCal finalists.   Representing the San Diego section, we had the La Costa Canyon Stampede of Carlsbad. The Stampede rocked the stands in the Mavericks 30-19 victory over Valley Center on homecoming night. The Stampede has been nominated before and should be near the top of the San Diego Student Section rankings in three weeks.   Representing the Inland Empire was the Murrieta Valley Red Zone. It is tough to break in from the IE with so many top student section in the land of the inside, mainly in the Southwestern League. The Red Zone rocked it for their...
I was wondering when a student section from San Diego would finally take the student section title? Well, wonder no more and leave to the Loud Crowd to end that streak. It almost didn’t happen as this was our closest race between four student sections. In the end, the Loud Crowd of Carlsbad snuck by and took the SoCal Student Section title for the week. Let’s see how our SoCal finalists did this week. The Ramona Rowdy Rams are a brand new student section. Normally it takes times for a new student section to build, but they have worked the social media market quite well and have branded themselves well. The Rowdy Rams showed their love on the road as the Ramona of Riverside defeated Patriot of Riverside 20-0 in a River Valley League play....
It always nice when someone makes the best of a second chance. After having a very low amount of voters this weekend for the SoCal Student Section of the Week, we decided to have a re-do where we put three new student sections on the board with the Cathedral Catholic Los Locos returning as the rep for the San Diego region. Los Locos put in its usual work as they witness a one sided affair in the Dons 36-6 victory over Olympian of Chula Vista. The three new student sections made a push for this week title on the second try. The Capo Valley Cage jumped in as the Orange County rep. The student section from the city of Mission Viejo rocked it as usual. The fog machine was on blast with the streamers in...
Remember when I said all our SoCal Student Section of the Week winners had some shade of blue.   The Centennial Dawgpound ended that streak.   The Dawgpound put up a fight for the top spot with the Servite Asylum, but the managed to stay on top.   On Homecoming Night, the Dawgpound prevailed.   Let’s see the other SoCal Student Section of the Week nominees.   Chaminade Cage. The Cage of Chaminade of West Hills came ready to go when the Eagles faced nationally ranked St. John Bosco of Bellflower. The Cage, which represented the Los Angeles region, did their usual and rocked it. Despite the tough 56-20 loss, the Cage was lit, but that should come to no surprise as The Cage is one of the best student sections in the LA area....
We are starting to notice a theme here.   Every student section that has won the So Cal Student Section of the week has some type of blue as their school colors.   If you are superstitious, maybe it’s time for your student section to change school colors to blue. That might be extreme.   You could do what another student section did and almost end the streak. It almost happen with over 3,000 votes, but we are staying in the blue.   Let’s see how the So Cal nominees did this past weekend.   The Newbury Park Panther Pit came in huge in the Panthers victory over Ventura. A sea of black and yellow and came in hard to protect this house. The Panther Pit represented the Los Angeles region.   The Stampede of...
Just because your team lost, doesn’t disqualify you from the SoCal Student Section voting poll. Two of the best student sections went all out despite the loss on the field while two other student sections got a win in the stands and the football field. In the end, it was a student section that had been a powerhouse for the last several years, but disappeared last season. Let’s meet the finalists. The Eagles Nest of Santa Margarita of Rancho Santa Margarita came in as the Orange County rep after soaring in the stands in a tough loss to Cherry Creek of Colorado. This student section packs the stands with their creative chants. This is a very consistent student section. Making their second appearance to the finalists stage is the Carlsbad Loud Crowd repping San Diego....
After over 2000 votes in last week Twitter poll, the Los Altos Conqueror Crazies shut the polls down in a lopsided victory for the Southern California Student Section of the week.   Fin fact; this is the second straight week our student section of the week starts with a Los. Good news for the Los Alamitos Goonsquad this Friday.   It should be no surprise as the Conqueror Crazies have always been one of the best student sections in the Los Angeles area. This is the first time I have had the opportunity to name Los Altos the So Cal Student Section of the Week.   The Conqueror Crazies had three big time opponents in Southern California. They are top notch student sections, but Los Altos of Hacienda Heights took control of the voting section....
With school not in session yet, it looked like maybe Week Zero will start with a fizzle up in the student section.   WRONG! The football stands were filled with school pride, baby powder and apparently fog machines.   Several student sections for the football season off to a great start and it is a good sign that this season should be a fun one on the field and apparently off the field.   We had four student sections across Southern California that caught our eye. We also noticed other student sections that felt they were somewhat cheated. Not to worry, you have 10 more weeks to prove if you are the best student section in Southern California.   Of course we had the Loud Crowd of Carlsbad representing San Diego region to start off...
