With the playoffs underway, you can expect the student sections to get wild as one slip and the season is over.

These three student section had big reasons to dial it up a notch.

This week student section champ made the best of a final tuneup before the playoffs…the same goes for the team as well.

Let’s meet this week finalist and introduce you to this week champion!

The Great Oak Red Wave of Temecula hosted King of Riverside for round one of the CIF-SS Division 2A playoffs.

The Red Wave is well known as a rowdy student section and after a tough rebuilding year during football season, so the student section has been due for an eruption and what better way than the postseason.

Despite the loss, the Red Wave was crazy and they have stayed crazy after a second place finish in the Southwestern League.

The next student section didn’t really have a nickname. They went by the Edison Charger Nation of Huntington Beach. They finally got into the social media game as it has become a huge part of the social media game.

They changed their name to the Edison MESS as in Mighty Edison Student Section. What a unique student section.

The MESS had a tough home game in round one of the CIF-SS Division 1 against Santa Margarita of Rancho Santa Margarita.

The MESS stepped it up a notch as they knew this was a very tough matchup for the Chargers.

The MESS rattled the Eagles for three quarter and it seemed like Edison had a legitimate shot, but the magic ran out as Santa Margarita snuck by with a win despite The MESS thunder clap.

Lookout for The MESS to be a top OC Student Section next year. They have got all the tools now.

The Los Altos Splash Zone of Hacienda Heights have been witnessing a lot of splashes from Conquerors superstar Jarod Lucas. Lucas broke the CIF-Southern Section scoring record two weeks ago in front of his student section. The hype stayed at a high level last week.

The Splash Zone made, well, a splash! Los Altos hosted Crossroads of Santa Monica in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs.

The Splash Zone has been savage with chants, but they have kept it loud all year, including last week. It’s been a fun ride at Los Altos on the sideline and on the hardwood.

In the end of the day, it was the student section from San Diego, St. Augustine Saints Pit.

The Saints Pit showed up for a big game against Cathedral Catholic of San Diego and they filled up the gym!

In a sea of purple, they kept the volume at a high the entire game and as always, they kept it weird…i like weird!

Despite the tough loss to the Dons in a big time Western League (although St. Augustine won the league title), the Saints Pit have prepared themselves enough as the Saints prepare for the CIF-San Diego Section Open Division.

The Saints Pit went to the weekly polls and it was a three team race, but in the end it was a two team race with the Pit and the Los Altos Splash Zone. With close to 1300 votes, the Saints Pit prevailed in a close one and this week, the St. Augustine Saints Pit is the SoCal Student Section of the week.

Let the purple reign!
