  2025 DELAWARE FINAL TOP 20 FALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGSJanuary 28, 2026

  The time has come to start ranking 50 states that we covered this football season. 

  To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is a huge huge understatement.

  We had 11 Student Section of the Week winners in New Jersey and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.

  Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want it and marketing is key. 

  You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

  I know Student Sections complain but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

  A Student Section that doesn’t post videos or photos of there Student Section on a consistent basis is like a tree falling with no one around. It doesn’t make any noise.

  This is our third year covering Football Student Sections in Delaware. We had the Salesianum in 2023 and 2024.

  This is a state were slowly figuring out, but there has been improvement. This state is home is a Student Section factory that keeps eating Ws. About a couple Student Sections below them can hang with the best of them!

  So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the First State.

  2025 DELAWARE FINAL TOP 20 FALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

  1. Salesianum (2024 Rank: 1)

  We got a three-peat. Salesianum being here again isn’t a surprise. They have the size and the insanity to compete with some of the best in the country. They have help on the social media side when it comes to promoting their Student Sections. Who would have thought that one of our National Student Section of the Week winners would come from Salesianum, but that’s what happen! The 2025 Delaware Fall Student Section Champion, Salesianum! BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK!!!

  You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

  I know Student Sections complain but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

  A Student Section that doesn’t post videos or photos of there Student Section on a consistent basis is like a tree falling with no one around. It doesn’t make any noise.

  This is our fourth year covering Football Student Sections in Virginia. We had the Loudoun Valley Jungle win it in 2022 and Stone Bridge Dogpound in 2023 and 2024.

  We have 11 Student Sections going from unranked to the Top 40. We hope this becomes a trend in Virginia.

  So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Old Dominion State.

  We may have a new powerhouse in Virginia. This is a crazy Student Section that loves to show off their school spirit on social media. You can’t blame them! We expect to see more of this in the Winter! This won’t be the last we see of them at the top as Paul VI is your 2025 Virginia Fall Student Section of the Year!

  This is a state has some great Student Sections and it is pretty deep. This is a state that has some great Students Sections and more so with some new Student Sections moving into the top spot. Hoping for this list to get deeper and deeper with newer Student Sections in 2026!

  The Crusader Crazies are something special. One of those Student Sections that treat it as a tradition. You’re part of something bigger than a section. It’s a brotherhood and they showed that in the stands and wanted everybody to see that when they promoted it on social media. This could become a dynasty here in New Jersey.   I felt like this state was a challenge to figure out when it came to Student Sections, but we discovered some new powerhouses this Fall. These rankings got much deeper and we hope we discover more Student Sections in 2026.

  2025 NEW YORK FINAL TOP 40 FALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

  1. Williamsville North (2024 Rank: 6) 

  This is a pretty even group in New York, so it was anyone’s game, but Williamsville North showed up in the stands and didn’t mind showing off their school spirit on Instagram. They knew they had the best Student Section in the state and proved it in the voting bracket. The top dawgs in New York for the 2025 Fall Student Section season goes to Williamsville North!

  The Mob went from a Student Section we kind of knew about to what will be a powerhouse battling for number one from here on out. They have the numbers, the great themes, the rowdiness and the great social media marketing on Instagram. We have some great Student Sections in this state, so we know it is not easy to stand out, but the Mob did it. The Pine-Richland Mob is your 2025 Pennsylvania Fall Student Section Champions!

  The time has come to start ranking 50 states that we covered this football season. 

  To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is a huge huge understatement.

  We had 11 Student Section of the Week winners in Maryland and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.

  Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want it and marketing is key. 

  You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

  I know Student Sections complain but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

  A Student Section that doesn’t post videos or photos of there Student Section on a consistent basis is like a tree falling with no one around. It doesn’t make any noise.

  This is our third year covering Football Student Sections in Maryland. We had the Archbishop Spaulding Rowdy Red in 2023 and 2024.

  This is a state has some great Student Sections and it is pretty deep. This is a state that has some great Students Sections and more so with some new Student Sections. It definitely help when we have Maryland Student Sections covering and helping us out. Give @oldlinehype on Instagram a follow!

  This state got several new members in the rankings as we saw an improvement in 2025. We got some help from others when it came to seeing the best Student Sections in the state!

  This is our fourth year covering Football Student Sections in North Carolina. We had the Crest Crazies in 2022, Providence Day in 2023 and the Myers Park Stable in 2024.

  This is another state that super deep with incredible Student Sections. A lot of fantastic Student Sections here that are around the Top 25 that would be contenders for number one in several states.

  In 2015, yours truly began covering Student Sections in Orange County, California. We expanded to Southern California in 2017 and in 2021, we added four more states and added 15 more states. We went to 40 states two years ago.

  We went to all 50 states in winter of 2023 and now we add our friends from the North in Canada on top of dividing Texas into two regions, similar to what we did with California. No one has ever done that before…until now!

  This is still a one-man operation for the most part, but we have some help with some partners on Instagram like good friends at OC Student Sections and Stadium Geeks with help from Maryland Student Section Rater, NorCal Student Sections and many more.

  This year we plan to get several “barstool” pages that showcase Student Sections in their states. Some of those pages were very helpful last year as we get more accurate with our rankings.

  I know that Student Sections have a lot of work to do to get the students to the games to cheer on their classmates and go along with the theme and make sure they don’t cause trouble. These student sections deserve recognition.

  This past season, we several more Student Sections, including some big powerhouse ones that not only will be a top dawg in their state, but will be a big player in the National side!

  We will kick off the Student Section season with Preseason Football Student Section Rankings. REMEMBER, this is a PREVIEW. It is merely a prediction. The real rankings come out in November or December. 

  If you feel your student section isn’t ranked high enough or not ranked at all, let us know and we’ll keep a close eye on them.

  Every week, we will also have Student Section of the Week for each state. Once you win Student Section of the Week, you can’t win it again, but you still have to battle for the top spot in your state and perhaps the Nation as we will also name a Football Student Section National Champion. 

  We continue with the 2025 Fall Student Section Season with a preview of Washington.

  Now, we aren’t sure if our friends at Maryland Student Section Rater (@mdstudentsectionrater on Instagram) will be back this fall, but we will see. They showed up just in time for us to find some new Student Sections. Thanks to their help, they’ve made this state one of the deeper ones in the Student Section scene. They have made it so easy these last few years and hope they are back. They have given us plenty of information in regards to Student Sections in this state and we hope to find more this fall.

  Last Football season, we had the Archbishop Spalding Rowdy Red as the top Football Student Section in Maryland. Rowdy Red repeated as Maryland Football Student Section Champions and if they continue the consistency on showing off their Student Section on Instagram, we’ll see a three-peat!

  In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Maryland, it’s Rockville Inferno. We discovered the Inferno last season and if they continue to show off their Student Section on Instagram, they’ll look to be the new Fall Champs!

  We continue with the 2025 Fall Student Section Season with a preview of Delaware.

  For awhile, we had a hard time figuring out this state, but we have discovered some solid Student Sections. This fall is going to be very interesting as we see several Student Sections battle for the top spot.

  Last year, we felt we figured out this state after discovering some more Student Section, but we had some more Student Section go quiet on social media. We hope they return and we find more Student Section on top of that. This will be a fun challenge.

  Last Football season, we had the Salesianum as the top Football Student Section in Delaware. Salesianum repeated as Delaware Football Student Section Champions and I don’t think that will change. If they improve on showing off their Student Section on Instagram, then this will be a threepeat!

  In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Delaware, it’s Appoquinimink. Remember when I said we had some Student Sections disappear last year? This was one of them, which was sad because they looked like a solid Student Section. If they return to showing off their Student Section on Instagram, then they could contend for the top spot.

  

  Will Appoquinimink makes it way back up at the top or will Salesianum go for three-in-a-row in the First State? Let’s find out.

  2025 DELAWARE FALL TOP 20 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS

  1. Salesianum (2024 Rank: 1)

  In order to be the man, you gotta beat the man and it seems no one has beaten the man in awhile now. Back-to-back Student Section State Champions in both the Fall and Winter Rankings. This is a Student Section by itself at the top. Salesianum will have to keep showing off their Student Section on Instagram in order to remain on top because if they take a day off on social media and another Delaware Student Section does what Salesianum has been doing in the past, then we’ll finally have a new champ in Delaware. I don’t see that happening, but it is possible for someone to take down Salesianum.

  2025 NEW JERSEY FALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGSAugust 25, 2025

  In 2015, yours truly began covering Student Sections in Orange County, California. We expanded to Southern California in 2017 and in 2021, we added four more states and added 15 more states. We went to 40 states two years ago.

  We went to all 50 states in winter of 2023 and now we add our friends from the North in Canada on top of dividing Texas into two regions, similar to what we did with California. No one has ever done that before…until now!

  This is still a one-man operation for the most part, but we have some help with some partners on Instagram like good friends at OC Student Sections and Stadium Geeks with help from Maryland Student Section Rater, NorCal Student Sections and many more.

  This year we plan to get several “barstool” pages that showcase Student Sections in their states. Some of those pages were very helpful last year as we get more accurate with our rankings.

  I know that Student Sections have a lot of work to do to get the students to the games to cheer on their classmates and go along with the theme and make sure they don’t cause trouble. These student sections deserve recognition.

  This past season, we several more Student Sections, including some big powerhouse ones that not only will be a top dawg in their state, but will be a big player in the National side!

  We will kick off the Student Section season with Preseason Football Student Section Rankings. REMEMBER, this is a PREVIEW. It is merely a prediction. The real rankings come out in November or December.

  We discovered a lot of Student Sections this past year in New Jersey, but I still feel like were missing out on some Student Sections here. We’re hoping we discover some more Student Sections this Fall.

  Last Football season, we had the Bergen Catholic Crusaders Crazies as the top Football Student Section in New Jersey. The Crusader Crazies had a big year last year. They did what they had to do to get the top spot and that was promote their Student Section on Instagram. That sold me, but they weren’t done yet as they took the top spot in the East Coast Region and made a run in the National Championship Bracket, losing in the semifinals. Will we see more of the same or perhaps send a National Championship Banner to New Jersey? We shall see!

  In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for New Jersey, it’s Chatham Cougar Crazies. This is a solid Student Section that will have to promote themselves a lot more on Instagram in order to end the season near the top or perhaps at the top. If they don’t show off their Student Section on Instagram, it will drop them down in the rankings. I’m sure they want the good part in this situation.

  

  Will the Cougar Crazies become the new powerhouse Student Section or will the Crusader Crazies take over more than just The Garden State? Let’s find out.

  The Crusader Crazies came close to getting to the National Football Student Section Championship, getting ousted in the semifinals. I expect the Crusader Crazies to promote their Student Section like crazy on Instagram and I can’t blame them. This is an insane Student Section. If they keep doing what they’re doing in the stands and on social media, then I expect them to repeat and make another run for that National Student Section Title!

  We discovered a lot of Student Sections in Virginia, but we felt that we were missing some more. Thankfully, one of our partners Stadium Geeks (@stadiumgeeks.sports on Instagram) has us covered and made sure we have the right Student Sections as their headquarters are in Virginia. They definitely came to the rescue and hopefully we discover more Student Sections this fall. Give these guys a follow!!

  Last Football season, we had the Stone Bridge Dogpound as the top Football Student Section in Virginia. The Dogpound repeated as Student Section Champs last fall and in order to three-peat, they’ll have to prove to us on Instagram that they’re the best in Virginia yet again. With some solid Student Sections in the way, it can be a tough task, but the Dogpound doesn’t want to give up that number one spot.

  In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Virginia, it’s Tabb. Tabb jumped in the Top 10 of the Rankings after being unranked and I don’t think that will be a fluke. They will battle to move up and perhaps have a say for number one. If they can promote their Student Section and show off their school spirit on Instagram, then they will keep moving on up in 2025.

  1. Loudoun Valley Jungle (2024 Rank: 3)

  The Jungle has always hung around with the best of them and it is mainly because their social media presence. They consistently show off their Student Section on Instagram and that is why they get the edge to start the season. The Student Section can hang with the best of them, but to get ahead of the top Student Sections in Virginia, they’ll need the social media game to be as strong as it has been every year. I don’t see this being an issue.

  We discovered a lot of Student Sections this past year and Pennsylvania is starting to look like one of the top state when it comes to Student Sections. It will be pretty difficult trying to keep the very best on this list. I’m sure we’ll find more solid Student Sections in 2025.

  Last Football season, we had the Thomas Jefferson Jungle as the top Football Student Section in Pennsylvania. This Student Section really wanted the top spot last year and they proved it. It was the amount of time they posted on social media that got them the top spot. If they stay the course, they will repeat, but other Student Sections may take note and dethrone them in 2025.

  In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Pennsylvania, it’s Pine-Richland Mob. We keep discovering more Student Sections around the USA and we found the Mob and they will be a player for the top spot in the Pennsylvania Student Section despite not being ranked last year. Solid Student Sections and one that packs the stands and shows off on Instagram. We could see unranked to barely Top 40 to number one in 2025.

  The Devils Den looks like a very good Student Sections, but we just didn’t see enough of them last season.   We discovered some powerhouse Student Sections last year in North Carolina. It has now become a much bigger battle to break in the Top 5 or Top 10 in this state. One of the more improved states and one of the better ones in the nation when it comes to Student Sections.

  Last Football season, we had the Myers Park Stable as the top Football Student Section in North Carolina. The Stable has always been at the top of the rankings. They have been consistent, but it will take a whole lot more to prove us that they still belong at the top, especially with the discovery of some big time Student Sections in the state.

  In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for North Carolina, it’s Reagan Rage. The Rage was one of those Student Sections we discovered and they can hang with the best of them in the state. I expect them to move up and battle for the top spot.

  

  Will the Rage keep moving up the rankings or will the Stable defend their top ranking in The Tar Heel State? Let’s find out.

  2025 NORTH CAROLINA FALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS

  1. Myers Park Stable (2024 Rank: 1)

  This will be a tough task for the Stable as they try to repeat as Student Section in the state. We discovered some powerhouse Student Sections, but we know how much the Stable wants to be at the top, so whatever challenge they will face, they’ll be ready. The Stable knows that they’ll have to promote their Student Section on Instagram on a much more consistent basis. I’m confident they’ll pull that off.

  2025 DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA FALL TOP 10 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGSAugust 17, 2025

  In 2015, yours truly began covering Student Sections in Orange County, California. We expanded to Southern California in 2017 and in 2021, we added four more states and added 15 more states. We went to 40 states two years ago.

  We went to all 50 states in winter of 2023 and now we add our friends from the North in Canada on top of dividing Texas into two regions, similar to what we did with California. No one has ever done that before…until now!

  This is still a one-man operation for the most part, but we have some help with some partners on Instagram like good friends at OC Student Sections and Stadium Geeks with help from Maryland Student Section Rater, NorCal Student Sections and many more.

  This year we plan to get several “barstool” pages that showcase Student Sections in their states. Some of those pages were very helpful last year as we get more accurate with our rankings.

  I know that Student Sections have a lot of work to do to get the students to the games to cheer on their classmates and go along with the theme and make sure they don’t cause trouble. These student sections deserve recognition.

  This past season, we several more Student Sections, including some big powerhouse ones that not only will be a top dawg in their state, but will be a big player in the National side!

  We will kick off the Student Section season with Preseason Football Student Section Rankings. REMEMBER, this is a PREVIEW. It is merely a prediction. The real rankings come out in November or December. 

  If you feel your student section isn’t ranked high enough or not ranked at all, let us know and we’ll keep a close eye on them.

  Every week, we will also have Student Section of the Week for each state. Once you win Student Section of the Week, you can’t win it again, but you still have to battle for the top spot in your state and perhaps the Nation as we will also name a Football Student Section National Champion. 

  We continue with the 2025 Fall Student Section Season with a preview of the District of Columbia.

  We introduced the District of Columbia to the Student Section scene during the Winter Season and while this is one of our smaller regions, D.C. has some solid Student Sections that can hang with the very best of them! We can’t wait to see how Washington D.C. fare for the Student Section Fall season.

  In each state or in this case region, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for the District of Columbia it’s…well, this is our first time covering this state, so it’s an open field.

  So, who will we look out for in the Nation’s Capital? Let’s find out.

  Gonzaga was our top Student Section for the 2024-2025 Winter Season and it seems like the hype is an all-year thing. If they keep showing off their school spirit on Instagram, they will stay on top of the DC Rankings and battle for a National Title!
