We continue our Final Rankings in the 41 states we covered this football season.
To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is an understatement.
We had Student Section of the Week for over 10 weeks and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which one wanted it more.
Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want and marketing is key.
You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!
I know Student Sections complain, but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.
Washington has an amazing school spirit. I’d say the top 20 can battle with the best of them! Great school spirit in the northwest!
So many great Student Sections in this state. Let’s take a look at our Top 40 and name our state champ!

Oregon is one of the deepest states when it comes to Student Sections. Southern California, Arizona, Ohio and Oklahoma are the top dawgs when it comes to Student Sections. Oregon definitely belongs on this list. Such a deep list!

- COPPER HILLS CHAOS OF WEST JORDAN
The Chaos name fits well with this student section. They packed the gym, they get crazy and loud and they market themselves very well on social media. In a state that has very dominating student sections, it is the Chaos of Copper Hills that takes the Utah Basketball Student Section title!
- PLEASANT GROVE HYPE
The Hype is real with the Pleasant Grove student section. They can shake up a gym and get rowdy. The PG Hype are savages in the stands.
- AMERICAN FORK CAVEMAN CRAZIES
Caveman Crazies look amazing on social media. They almost resemble a college student section. They can shake it up and get crazy!
- CORNER CANYON STABLE OF DRAPER
The Stable looks so crazy when you just see them on social media. I can imagine just how crazy they are when you see them in person.
- WEST JORDAN
West Jordan student section shows up and delivers for their Jaguars. It’s a valuable sixth man.
- BINGHAM PIT CREW OF SOUTH JORDAN
The Pit Crew can pack the stands. On top of packing the stands, they can shake it up too. Great Student Section.
- TIMPVIEW OF PROVO
One photo I still remember from the Timpview student section is the white-out theme where they packed the gym. It looked amazing. This student section ca hang with the best in Utah!
- OLYMPUS OF SALT LAKE CITY
The Olympus student section made a run for it during the playoffs with their Titans as they took the 5-A title.
- OREM
Orem student section takes the edge to finish in the Top 10 thanks to their rowdiness at home.
- DAVIS MOB OF KAYSVILLE
The Mob did just that in the stands. They mobbed the gyms and really mobbed the opponent contraction as well.

- OLYMPIA
Olympia social media game was insane. They marketed themselves well and they get the top reward as the Washington Basketball Student Section of the Year.
- EASTLAKE RED SEA OF SAMMAMISH
The Red Sea wasn’t fond of their football ranking in November, but they do have a solid student section. I get it. Red Sea is a fantastic student section.
- CHIAWANA HAWK SQUAD OF PASCO
Hawk Squad came away with the same solid performance in the stands that they had during football season. All around a great student section.
- MOUNT SI OF SNOQUALMIE
The Wildcats has a solid basketball program, which gives their student section more than enough reasons to go wild in the stands.
- GLACIER PEAK OF SNOHOMISH
Glacier Peak worked social media a lot better than others. They also worked it in the stands.
- LAKE STEVENS VIKINGS CASTLE
Vikings Castle had an all-around great year in the stands. This is a student section that will always be one of the best in Washington!
- BOTHELL BLUE TRAIN
The Blue Train were the runner-ups for “Best of the West” Football Student Section of the Year. It is tough to duplicate that, but the Blue Train stayed the course.
- HANFORD OF RICHLAND
Hanford is simply here for their solid marketing on social media. They can hang with the best in the Northwest.
- CENTRAL KITSAP
Central Kitsap worked social media very well. We noticed it and that’s why they get a Top 10 finish.
- SELAH
Selah was another student section that worked social media very well. So well that it gave the a Top 10 finish.

One through four, this could have gone either way, but the Wolf Den takes the tiebreaker by way of votes as they are the Alaska Basketball Student Section Champions.
- SOLDOTNA
Soldotna social media game is the best in Alaska. Creative. I can imagine they also rock a solid student section in the stands.
- CHUGIAK
I was told that this is a solid student section and I have to take their word for it. Hopefully they take the top spot in 2023.
- SOUTH ANCHORAGE
This was the student section that I thought would take the top spot. The fourth spot isn’t so bad. Hopefully, I am right next year.

Service did it’s service in the stands and rocked it this season.

- PONDEROSA LOUR CROWD OF SHINGLE SPRINGS
The Loud Crowd was all over the place. They packed the stands in green and white and went wild. They stood apart from the rest of the student sections. The work in the stands paid off as the Loud Crowd of Ponderosa is your Northern California Basketball Student Section of the Year.
- FOOTHILL JUNGLE OF PALO CEDRO
The Jungle may have finished at number 2, but when it comes to Student Section under the name of Foothill, they take the top crown. Like the other Foothill’s, they we’re crazy and rowdy!
- WOODCREEK WOLFPACK
The Wolfpack has always been a consistent student section. Loud, packed and nuts! Great Student Section.
- ENTERPRISE MANIACS OF REDDING
I was so impressed with the Maniacs this season. The name is not a coincidence. This group is a bunch of maniacs. Fantastic Student Section.
- DE LA SALLE 6TH MAN OF CONCORD
The 6th Man is spoiled when it comes to their sports. Football and basketball dominate, which can put pressure on it’s student section, but the 6th Man stayed the course.
- FOLSOM DOGPACK
The Dogpack went crazy for another successful basketball season. Dogpack went out there like a bunch of crazy dogs in the stands!
- DEL ORO BLACKHOLE OF LOOMIS
The Northern Californoa Football Student Section Champions stayed the course with a Top 10 finish!
- ST. IGNATIUS OF SAN FRANCISCO
St. Ignatius rocked the stadns all the way to the NorCal Regional Finals.
- PIERCE
Pierce was one of the better student sections deep in Northern California.
- BUCHANAN RED RIOT OF FRESNO
Red Riot is always a solid student section. Almost guaranteed a Top 10 type of performance in the stands.

- 2022 ALASKA WINTER STUDENT SECTION WATCH LIST
After a successful first year covering football student sections in five states (add that with 6 years of covering student section in Southern California), we feel like we can take on 15 states, 13 of them in the South).
We briefly got to know some of the Alaska Student Sections in 2020, but with Covid all over the air, it was tough to get the best access, but we are back and so are the student sections.
We know there are more than 12 student sections that we have featured here. If we are missing your student section here, let us know and we will add them to our coverage.
What Alaska Student Sections don’t know is that we also have Alaska Student Sections of the Week voting and the End of the Basketball Alaska Top 40 Student Section Rankings and the Best of the West voting, followed by the Basketball National Student Section of the Year.
