- 2025 LOUISIANA FALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS
In 2015, yours truly began covering Student Sections in Orange County, California. We expanded to Southern California in 2017 and in 2021, we added four more states and added 15 more states. We went to 40 states two years ago.
We went to all 50 states in winter of 2023 and now we add our friends from the North in Canada on top of dividing Texas into two regions, similar to what we did with California. No one has ever done that before…until now!
This is still a one-man operation for the most part, but we have some help with some partners on Instagram like good friends at OC Student Sections and Stadium Geeks with help from Maryland Student Section Rater, NorCal Student Sections and many more.
This year we plan to get several “barstool” pages that showcase Student Sections in their states. Some of those pages were very helpful last year as we get more accurate with our rankings.
I know that Student Sections have a lot of work to do to get the students to the games to cheer on their classmates and go along with the theme and make sure they don’t cause trouble. These student sections deserve recognition.
This past season, we several more Student Sections, including some big powerhouse ones that not only will be a top dawg in their state, but will be a big player in the National side!
We will kick off the Student Section season with Preseason Football Student Section Rankings. REMEMBER, this is a PREVIEW. It is merely a prediction. The real rankings come out in November or December.
If you feel your student section isn’t ranked high enough or not ranked at all, let us know and we’ll keep a close eye on them.
Every week, we will also have Student Section of the Week for each state. Once you win Student Section of the Week, you can’t win it again, but you still have to battle for the top spot in your state and perhaps the Nation as we will also name a Football Student Section National Champion.
We continue with the 2025 Fall Student Section Season with a preview of Louisiana.
Despite visiting Louisiana last year to check out a Student Section, this state took a step back when it came to showing off their Student Sections on Instagram. It was a difficult fall when it came to looking for rowdy Student Section in Louisiana in 2024, so we hope this is a bounce back year as a whole in 2025. I’m sure mother nature plays a role in it.
Last Football season, we had the Catholic Bear Naish as the top Football Student Section in Louisiana. I flew into Baton Rouge to check our Bear Naish and it was totally worth it. Such an incredible Student Section. One of the best I’ve seen in person. We’ve spoken with Bear Naish since 2020, so obviously we’re big fans of them and we hope they don’t skip a beat in 2025!
In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Louisiana, it’s Jesuit Gizzard. Jesuit is a solid Student Section, but can be a bit quiet on Instagram (compared to a couple years ago). When we see their Student Section on Instagram, it’s amazing and I know they want the top spot. If they promote their Student Section like they used awhile back, they will take the number one spot in 2025.
Will the Gizzard join the party or will the Bear Naish continue their Student Section State Titles in The Bayou? Let’s find out.
2025 LOUISIANA FALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS
- Catholic Bear Naish (2024 Rank: 1)
Bear Naish will look to take the number one spot once again. In order to do that, they’ll need to show off their fantastic Student Section on Instagram and do it on a consistent basis because the Student Section underneath them will look to dethrone them. Bear Naish better stay alert and rowdy in 2025!

We have some states that have been difficult to figure out as far as finding a large number on consistent Student Sections in their state, but while Mississippi is one of them, it is a bit shocking because in the south, Football is huge and I expect Student Sections to go wild! If they do go wild, they better promote their Student Section on Instagram. I can imagine that this state has a good number of great Student Sections. Let’s see it Mississippi.
Last Football season, we had the Oxford O-Zone as the top Football Student Section in Mississippi. The O-Zone can be messy with all that powder and if they can show off their Student Section on Instagram more than they did last year, then the number one spot will be a no-brainer.
In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Mississippi, it’s the Clinton. The Arrows moved up big in the rankings and if it is another year where we will have a challenge to find some solid Student Sections, then this is the time for Clinton to promote their Student Section on Instagram. They have the Student Section to battle for the top spot in the state.

Everybody knows Alabama takes its football seriously, but the Student Section felt like it was behind the game last year. We expected solid Student Section showings on Instagram, but we didn’t see much. We hope that changes and this years rankings are much deeper with super strong Student Section talent.
Last Football season, we had the Hoover Boneyard as the top Football Student Section in Alabama. The Boneyard got quiet to start the season and when we did our mid-season Student Section Report, the Boneyard wanted to know why we didn’t have them ranked as high as they preferred. They took the criticism and accepted and when on a run to take the top spot. The Boneyard wants to be the top dawg and will want to remain that way in 2025. I can definitely see a repeat.

A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Alabama, it’s the Sparkman. We didn’t have Sparkman in any of our rankings, but we discovered them and now they look like a serious contender when it comes to being one of the best Student Sections in Alabama. They asked us to visit them and if we can, we will. They want the top spot in Alabama and if they show off their Student Section on Instagram, they may have a strong chance at it.
Will Sparkman crash the party and take the top spot or will the Boneyard defend their top ranking in The Yellowhammer State? Let’s find out.
2025 ALABAMA FALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS
- Hoover Boneyard (2024 Rank: 1)
The Boneyard loves to show off their Student Section on Instagram on a consistent basis. They do that more than any other Student Section in the state. They have a solid football that gives them plenty of reasons to go nuts in the stands. If the Boneyard stays the course and makes sure they’re ahead of the Student Section from everyone else in the state, they’ll repeat. Hopefully, we can get the funding to checkout the Boneyard in person this fall!

Florida has some dawgs when it comes to Student Sections, but it felt like a down year last fall as we didn’t see many Student Sections showing off on social media. Now, I know that mother nature played a role, but we did see some Florida Student Sections. When a tree falls when no one is around, it doesn’t make any noise and the same goes when a Student Section doesn’t post on Instagram. We hope this state returns to the powerhouse it is.
Last Football season, we had the Lake Brantley as the top Football Student Section in Florida. This was a battle between two Student Sections for the top spot and Lake Brantley snuck by. When they showed off their Student Section, it was very impressive. I expect the same in 2025, but they will have more company this fall.

A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Florida, it’s Boone Rowdy Crowd. What are we looking out for in a Student Section that was ranked second in the Florida Student Section Rankings? Well, we don’t see much of them in the fall and I know this isn’t a Student Section that shows up in the second half of the school year, so I am hoping they get the school year off to a solid start in the stands and be one of the Student Sections to battle for the top spot in the Fall this time around.

2025 FLORDIA FALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS
- Deland Dawg Party (2024 Rank: 2)
The Dawg Party has been one of those Student Sections that have stayed at the top for a bit, but haven’t gotten the top spot yet. If they keep doing what they are doing, then the Dawg Party will have a reason to party with the top spot. Deland loves to show off their Student Section on Instagram and I hope that doesn’t stop in 2025.

It is a debate in my head when I think which state or region is the deepest when it comes to solid Student Sections. Some states join and leave the debate, but one state that has always been at the top of this conversation is Tennessee. Outside of Southern California, Tennessee has been on my mind in the GOAT conversation of Student Sections. So many crazy and insane Student Sections come through Tennessee. So deep and I can’t see it stopping. I expect a Tennessee Student Section making a run in the Student Section playoffs at the end of the Fall.
Last Football season, we had Baylor as the top Football Student Section in Tennessee. Baylor has always been a super large and a super crazy Student Section, but as mentioned, this is a state that has a whole bunch of powerhouse Student Sections and I expect Baylor to battle as best they can to keep that number one spot. It will be a battle as expected.

A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Tennessee, it’s Knoxville Catholic. Knoxville Catholic is one of those Student Sections we discovered and we were blown away in with their Winter Student Section. I can expect the same in the Fall, but I’m sure they know and we definitely know that they will have a lot of company. Knoxville Catholic will be up for the challenge.

2025 TENNESSEE FALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS
- Hillsboro Herd (2024 Rank: 3)
The Herd has had to battle for the top spot for awhile and if the past leaders did their job before they left, which is show the new leaders to keep the crazy and loud noise at a high level while promoting that on social media, they the Herd will lead the way in 2025 for the top spot. Not an easy task in a state so deep in school spirit, but the Herd will stampede their way in if they have too!

- 2025 SOUTH CAROLINA FALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS
In 2015, yours truly began covering Student Sections in Orange County, California. We expanded to Southern California in 2017 and in 2021, we added four more states and added 15 more states. We went to 40 states two years ago.
We went to all 50 states in winter of 2023 and now we add our friends from the North in Canada on top of dividing Texas into two regions, similar to what we did with California. No one has ever done that before…until now!
This is still a one-man operation for the most part, but we have some help with some partners on Instagram like good friends at OC Student Sections and Stadium Geeks with help from Maryland Student Section Rater, NorCal Student Sections and many more.
This year we plan to get several “barstool” pages that showcase Student Sections in their states. Some of those pages were very helpful last year as we get more accurate with our rankings.
I know that Student Sections have a lot of work to do to get the students to the games to cheer on their classmates and go along with the theme and make sure they don’t cause trouble. These student sections deserve recognition.
This past season, we several more Student Sections, including some big powerhouse ones that not only will be a top dawg in their state, but will be a big player in the National side!
We will kick off the Student Section season with Preseason Football Student Section Rankings. REMEMBER, this is a PREVIEW. It is merely a prediction. The real rankings come out in November or December.
If you feel your student section isn’t ranked high enough or not ranked at all, let us know and we’ll keep a close eye on them.
Every week, we will also have Student Section of the Week for each state. Once you win Student Section of the Week, you can’t win it again, but you still have to battle for the top spot in your state and perhaps the Nation as we will also name a Football Student Section National Champion.
We continue with the 2025 Fall Student Section Season with a preview of South Carolina.
Last year was a difficult one when it came to looking for the best Student Sections in this state, which is surprising since social media is solid here. Hopefully we can find a good number of fantastic Student Sections that will show off their school spirit on Instagram and make this a deep list at the end of the Fall.
Last Football season, we had the Clover Crazies as the top Football Student Section in South Carolina. The Crazies can pack the stands, but if this state improves on the social media side, then it will take a lot more work for the Crazies to repeat. Consistent social media presence that show off their Student Section will be needed in 2025.
In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for South Carolina, it’s Nation Ford Dirty Birds. The Dirty Birds had a rebuilding year or they just took a year off from showing off their Student Section. If the Dirty Birds can prove us they have one of the best Student Sections on Instagram, then the Dirty Birds should end at the top.
Will the Dirty Birds make a return to the top or will the Crazies defend their top ranking in The Palmetto State? Let’s find out.
2025 SOUTH CAROLINA FALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS

This will be a tough task as this state is pretty even in the Student Section category as we really didn’t see a super Student Section power during the fall. That could change and I feel like the Tribe really want the top spot this year and they have already chatted with us. They want to be number one and I can see them ending the season at number one.

Georgia is very deep when it comes to Student Sections, but it felt like it wasn’t as crazy as I thought it would be last year. Maybe I had this state a little too high on my list when it came to crazy Student Sections. I know a lot of these Student Sections are rowdy and crazy and with a solid social media work, this is a state that is 25 strong Student Sections deep, possibly more. This will be a fun state to watch!
Last Football season, we had Lowndes Concrete Crazies as the top Football Student Section in Georgia. The Concrete Crazies moved up the rankings from the 16 spot to the top spot. These Crazies will look to defend their title or at least stay in the top of the rankings. It will take a lot to stay at number one, but the Crazies know how to promote themselves on social media and intend to prove that they’re the best in the state!
In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Georgia, it’s Hart County Dogpound. The Dogpound was nowhere close to our radar when we kickoff last year’s preview, but the Dogpound made their presence known and it impressed me. I expect their social media to be even better as they know it is going to take a lot to go from unranked to Top 10 to either Top 5 or the top spot in the state. It’s a tough task, but this crazy Student Section is willing to take the challenge.
Will the Dogpound keep moving up or will the Concrete Crazies pave the way again in The Peach State? Let’s find out.
2025 GEORGIA FALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS
- Buford Wolf Gang (2025 Rank: 2)
The Wolf Gang has been in the Top 2 of these rankings every year since we’ve been covering Georgia. We don’t expect Buford to start going off of the Top 2, but this state is deep with great Student Sections, so it wouldn’t be a surprise. It will take a lot for the Wolf Gang to take the top spot once again and with great promoting on Instagram, it is possible. I expect to see this great Student Section on social media this fall!

I felt like the Patriot Pack was by far the more consistent Student Section than other Mississippi Student Sections, but then again, this state didn’t really show off their school spirit in the stands on Instagram. Nevertheless, the Patriot Pack has been consistent over the years, so it is no surprise that they always land in the Top 5 in every Student Section ranking. I hope other Student Sections in this state take note because the Jackson Prep Patriot Pack is your 2024-2025 Mississippi Winter Student Section of the Year!

The Boneyard did it again!
The Boneyard showed consistency with showing off their Student Section this Winter, mainly providing information for their fellow Students. They showed up in the stands and in the voting booth as they handled their way to the top! We will see how the Boneyard will fare in our National Winter Student Section Bracket featuring 53 Student Sections across the country, but for now, they’re the 2024-2025 Alabama Winter Student Section Champions!

The time has come to start ranking 50 states that we covered this football season.
To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is a huge huge understatement.
We had 11 Student Section of the Week winners in Mississippi and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.
Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want it and marketing is key.
You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!
I know Student Sections complain but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.
A Student Section that doesn’t post videos or photos of there Student Section on a consistent basis is like a tree falling with no one around. It doesn’t make any noise.
This is our third year covering Football Student Sections in Georgia. We had Oxford O-Zone win it in 2022 and Starkville Nest in 2023.
Mississippi has been a huge challenge for us when it comes to discovering Student Sections and 2024 was no different. Some Student Sections say they’re the best, but they never prove it on social media, which means the verdict is, inconclusive.
We will have 3 Student Sections in Mississippi that will be voting in the Student Section playoffs that will begin soon.
So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Magnolia State.
2024 MISSISSIPPI FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
RED = PLAYOFF BOUND
- Oxford O-Zone (2023 Rank: 8)
After falling out of the Top 5, the Oxford O-Zone is back at the top! This Student Section can be a bit messy with all that powder, but it’s worth it! They have been consistent over the last couple of years and they did want us to know they’re the best in the state. We’re sold! We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon, but for now, they’re the 2024 Mississippi Football Student Section of the Year!
- Brookhaven Red Nation (2023 Rank: 19)
When it comes to promoting your Student Section on Instagram or any other social media platform, this is by far the most consistent Student Section I have ever seen from Mississippi, hands down. They’re promotion of school spirit is why they’re at the top of the rankings this year. Other Student Sections will throw a fit, but I’ll just ask, Do you have the proof that Brookhaven had? Because they wanted it wayyy more than you! We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.
- Ocean Springs Hound Pound (2023 Rank: 9)
Hound Pound looked electric! They can pack the stands and cause a problem for any opponent that stands in their football teams way. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.
- Tupelo (2023 Rank: 3)
Led by the Tupelo Boys, this Student Section can hang with the best of them and it is the reason why they once again return to the Top 5.
- Saltillo Tigers Den (2023 Rank: 31)
Rain or shine, the weather isn’t stopping the Tigers Den of Saltillo. This put them in the Top 5.
