- 2024 NEW JERSEY FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
The time has come to start ranking 50 states that we covered this football season.
To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is a huge huge understatement.
We had 11 Student Section of the Week winners in New Jersey and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.
Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want it and marketing is key.
You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!
I know Student Sections complain but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.
A Student Section that doesn’t post videos or photos of there Student Section on a consistent basis is like a tree falling with no one around. It doesn’t make any noise.
This is our second year covering Football Student Sections in New Jersey. We had the St. Thomas Aquinas Trojan Army win it in 2023.
This is a state has some great Student Sections and it is pretty deep. This is a state that has some great Students Sections and more so with some new Student Sections.
We will have 4 Student Sections in New Jersey that will be voting in the Student Section playoffs that will begin soon.
So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Garden State.
2024 NEW JERSEY FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
RED = PLAYOFF BOUND
- Bergen Catholic Crusaders Crazies (2023 Rank: 3)
The Crusader Crazies went over the top this fall. They’re not afraid to show off their school spirit on social media as they posted their Student Section on the daily on Instagram. They definitely look like they pack the stands and go nuts! We’ll see how far they will go when they vote in the National Football Student Section playoffs, but for now they’re the 2024 New Jersey Football Student Section of the Year!
- St. Augustine Prep Richland Rowdies (2023 Rank: 16)
The Richland Rowdies look like a fun group! They make a mess, but that’s is very acceptable in the stnads. They look like they can be a distraction if you’re playing against St. Augustine. Now we’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start at the end of the week.
- St. Joseph’s Regional Knight Pit (2023 Rank: 2)
The Knight Pit have a Student Section that has that look like they’re savages to the opponent. That and they never miss a day at the gym and I can absolutely respect that! We’ll see if they can market and promote the voting in the National Football Student Section playoffs!
- Chatham Cougar Crazies (2023 Rank: NR)
The Cougar Crazies might have one of the larger Student Sections in New Jersey. They also seem very committed to support all their athletic programs. We’ll see how far they’ll go in the voting for the National Football Student Section playoffs!
- Williamstown Chop House (2023 Rank: NR)
The Chop House can definitely pack the stands! I like this combo post that displays the Chop House throughout the season.

2024 MARYLAND FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
RED = PLAYOFF BOUND
- Archbishop Spalding Rowdy Red (2023 Rank: 1)
Rowdy Red is back on top. It wasn’t an easy choice with all the solid Student Sections in Maryland, but they snuck back to the top thanks to consistent social media work and being the only Maryland Student Section to win the National Student Section of the Week. Rowdy Red can also pack the stands! We’ll see how far they will go when they vote in the National Football Student Section playoffs, but for now, Archbishop Spalding Rowdy Red is going back-to-back as they’re the 2024 Maryland Football Student Section of the Year!
- Northwest Jag Nation (2023 Rank: 2)
Jag Nation doesn’t rebuild, it reloads. This is no different than last year. It is the same full and rowdy Student Section you always see. I can sense they have a proud tradition when it comes to school spirit and supporting their football team. We’ll see if the Jag Nation can make some noise when they vote in the National Football Student Section playoffs!
- Our Lady of Good Counsel Falcons Nest (2023 Rank: 6)
I love it when Student Sections and Marching Bands unite and make a super team. Falcons Nest love teamwork! Plus, the light show looks so cool! We’ll see if the Falcons Nest can light it up when they vote in the National Football Student Section playoffs!
- Frederick Sabre Nation (2023 Rank: 5)
This may be a small Student Section compared to the big dawgs in the Top 10, but they make up for it with their social media presence. They even got a consultant helping them out. Talk about dedication! We’ll see if the Sabre Nation can upset some Student Section when they vote in the National Football Student Section playoffs!
- Rockville Inferno (2023 Rank: 38)
The Inferno was en fuego this fall! They packed the stands and I definitely loved the Hawaiian Theme they had going on here! They caught our attention and will be with the big boys in the rankings from here on out!

This is a state has some great Student Sections and it got a little deeper. This is a state under the radar when it comes to school spirit. In fact, one of the best states when it comes to Student Sections this fall!
We will have 4 Student Sections in North Carolina that will be voting in the Student Section playoffs that will begin soon.
So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Tarheel State.
2024 NORTH CAROLINA FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
RED = PLAYOFF BOUND
- Myers Park Stable (2023 Rank: 14)
The Stable had to fight for this one. I kept going back and forth with the Lake Norman WIldcat Den and them, but the Stable showed some consistency, more so than the past season when it came to showing off their Student Section. We’ll see how far they will go when they vote in the National Football Student Section playoffs, but for now they’re the 2024 North Carolina Football Student Section of the Year!
- Lake Norman Wildcat Den (2023 Rank: NR)
The Wildcat Den may have the largest Student Section in the state. I can sense you might get rattled if your team has to deal with that, along with blindness with all the neon. We’ll see how far they’ll go in the voting for the National Football Student Section playoffs!
- Mooresville Devils Den (2023 Rank: NR)
The Devils Den was evil if you were the opponent. This Student Section was en fuego and they rattled every opposing team that came their way. We’ll see if they can market and promote the voting in the National Football Student Section playoffs!
- South Iredell Viking Valley (2023 Rank: NR)
Viking Valley looks like a colorful crowd. They packed the stands and went nuts and now we’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start at the end of the week.
- Weddington (2023 Rank: 11)
Weddington had a big year in the stands. They packed the house and got rowdy on a consistent basis. They earned this Top 5 finish.

2024 PENNSYLVANIA FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
RED = PLAYOFF BOUND
- Thomas Jefferson Jungle (2023 Rank: 8)
The Jungle really wanted this! They packed the stands and got rowdy from start to finish. The Jungle promoted themselves better than anyone else in the state. They earned this one. We’ll see how far they will go when they vote in the National Football Student Section playoffs, but for now they’re the 2024 Pennsylvania Football Student Section of the Year!
- Mt. Lebanon Devils Den (2023 Rank: 14)
The Devils Den got off to a great starts and have been somewhat savages in the stands. They stayed the course and get a Top 3 finish in the state. We’ll see if they can market and promote the voting in the National Football Student Section playoffs!
- Warwick Tribe (2023 Rank: 3)
Warwick is back at the top of the rankings. Business as usual for the Tribe as they packed the stands and went wild this fall for their football team! We’ll see if they can market and promote the voting in the National Football Student Section playoffs!
- Coatesville (2023 Rank: NR)
Coatesville has crashed the party! The packed the stands and the White Out Theme caught my eye! It was good enough to finish in the Top 5. We’ll see how they fare in the National Student Section playoffs.
- Peters Township (2023 Rank: 29)
Late change, but this is one of those changes I just couldn’t ignore. Be ready for Peters Township to take over the top spot moving forward. We have our eye on them from here on out.

- Stone Bridge Dogpound (2023 Rank: 1)
The Dogpound rocked it this fall. Packed the stands and it looks like the White Out Theme was on point! We’ll see how far they will go when they vote in the National Football Student Section playoffs, but for now they’re the 2024 Virginia Football Student Section of the Year!
- Tuscarona Tusky Terror (2023 Rank: 2)
Tusky Terror came pretty close from taking the top spot this fall. They can go wild and get loud in the stands! We’ll see if they can market and promote the voting in the National Football Student Section playoffs!
- Loudoun Valley Jungle (2023 Rank: 3)
The Jungle is back with another Top 5. They rocked every theme and definitely went nuts! We’ll see if they can market and promote the voting in the National Football Student Section playoffs!
- Woodgrove Wild (2023 Rank: 9)
The Wild has a good name. This is a wild Student Section that packs the stands!
- Loudoun County Raider Riot (2023 Rank: 4)

We’re still trying to figure out the Student Section scene in Delaware. We did discover a couple of them and hope we can catch the eye of this state.

2024 DELAWARE FINAL TOP 20 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS
RED = PLAYOFF BOUND
- Salesianum (2023 Rank: 1)
Normally Salesianum would run away with this, but their social media game was off. That almost put them at the 2 or 3 spot, but you can’t ignore the pack and crazy Student Section at Salesianum. We’ll see how they will do when they get ready to vote in the National Football Student Section playoffs, but for now, Salesianum is the 2024 Delaware Football Student Section Champions!

Odessa was very close from taking the top spot in Delaware! They can pack the stands with the best of them!
- Milford (2023 Rank: NR)
Milford showed off their Student Section and it paid off with a Top 3 finish in Delaware this year! They look like a rowdy crowd!

That grassy stands no match for the Tatnall Student Section! No matter where they have to stand, the Tatnall Student Section will be there!

I know that Student Sections have a lot of work to do to get the students to the games to cheer on their classmates and go along with the theme and make sure they don’t cause trouble. These student sections deserve recognition.

For awhile, we had a hard time figuring out this state, but we have discovered some solid Student Sections. This fall is going to be very interesting as we see several Student Sections battle for the top spot.
Last Football season, we had the Salesianum as the top Football Student Section in Delaware. Salesianum had a solid season last year as a Student Section, but can they repeat it? Some other Student Sections in Delaware will be coming after the top spot this fall.
In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for Delaware, we have to go with Middletown Cav Crew. They finished in the Top 5 in the basketball Student Section Rankings and we expect them to battle for at least a Top 5 finish for football season.
Will the Cav Crew take the top spot in the state or will Salesianum take another one in the First State? Let’s find out.

I feel like we haven’t figured this state out yet, but we have recently discovered a Student Section that can be come the new power in this state. Maybe we’ll see more big time Student Sections come up this fall.
Last Football season, we had the St. Thomas Aquinas Trojan Army as the top Football Student Section in New Jersey. The Trojan Army promoted themselves quite well and look like such a fun crew. There’s a specific filter they use for their photos that make it fun, but regardless they’re promoting their Student Section on social media and that is all it takes to get recognized as one of the best.
In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for New Jersey, we have to go with Don Bosco Prep. We know they have a crazy group of gentlemen in the stands, but we rarely see it on social media. They deserve the recognition, but if they show us they’re still the same crazy group, they will get recognized as one of the best in the state and the east coast.
Will Don Bosco Prep take the top spot in the state or will the Trojan Army take another one in the Garden State? Let’s find out.

This Student Sections looks fun and insane in the stands. The Rowdies look like they’re having the most fun out of all the Student Sections. If they market themselves on social media and show off their Student Section on Instagram on a consistent basis, they will finish as the best Student Section in New Jersey by the end of the season.

Now, we aren’t sure if our friends at Maryland Student Section Rater (@mdstudentsectionrater on Instagram) will be back this fall, but we will see. They have made it so easy these last few years and hope they are back. They have given us plenty of information in regards to Student Sections in this state and we hope to find more this fall.
Last Football season, we had the Archbishop Spalding Rowdy Red as the top Football Student Section in Maryland. Rowdy Red is about the same compared to other Student Sections in Maryland, but they are one of the best when it comes to social media promotion. They show off their school spirit every week and we expect them to defend their title.

A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for Maryland, we have to go with the Walter Johnson Mighty Mad Cows. First off, great Student Section name. Second, this Student Section can pack the stands and can rock it in the stands and have shown it off on social media. The Mighty Mad Cows are one of those Student Sections that have what it takes to be one of the best in Maryland

We discovered a lot of Student Sections last year, but yet we felt that we were missing some more. Thankfully, one of our partners Stadium Geeks (@stadiumgeeks.sports on Instagram) has us covered and made sure we have the right Student Sections as their headquarters are in Virginia. Hopefully we discover more Student Sections this fall.
Last Football season, we had the Stone Bridge Dogpound as the top Football Student Section in Virginia. The Dogpound show up and pack up the stands. It is tough to see an empty seat at the Dogpound. If they show off their school spirit more than usual on Instagram, this will be a repeat in 2024!
In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for Virginia, we have to go with the Nansemond River Rowdies. When I sent my rough draft list to Stadium Geeks, he said the list looks good, but it is missing a couple Student Sections. River Rowdies was one of those Student Sections and once I saw their Instagram account, I felt they quick make a splash and show off their school spirit. Perhaps the River Rowdies could make a move in the list in the fall.

North Carolina doesn’t have that one Student Section that is different than the others. It’s a fair free game in North Carolina. A lot of Student Sections will have a chance make a solid impression this fall for the top spot.
Last Football season, we had the Providence Day as the top Football Student Section in North Carolina. Providence Day will have the tough task to repeat as State Champs. This is anyone’s game.

A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for North Carolina, we have to go with the Hoggard Viking Crowd. This is one of those Student Sections we discovered recently and I get the feeling they will be popping all over Instagram and showing off their school spirit. I can see the Viking Crowd making a case for number one.

We know of some of the best Student Sections in this state thanks to a former Student Section leader of the Edison MESS of Southern California who became a member of the Penn State Legion Blue. Thankfully his fellow Nitty Lions helped us find some Student Sections. We hope to find some more this fall. We also discovered a few more solid Student Sections, so we may find new powerhouses in this state.
Last Football season, we had the Cardinal O’Hara Lions Den as the top Football Student Section in Pennsylvania. The Lions Den made a run to the National Championship round and they deserved it. This is a solid Student Section
In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that doesn’t get talked about a lot by us or others and for Pennsylvania, we have to go with the Warwick Tribe. We already saw them posting in preparation for the season. The Tribe can definitely hang and I wouldn’t be surprised if they take the top spot and battle in the following rounds after the State Title.

The Nest has the tough task of not only dethroning Cardinal O’Hara Lions Den, but to battle with a Student Section that happens to have one of the best football teams in the state in the Central Catholic Fleet, but the Nest will be ready. They show up big and rock the stands. If they can work their social media magic and show off their school spirit on Instagram, they should take the top spot by seasons end.
