Covering 19 states by yourself is not an easy task, but 3 months after the basketball ended, we finally finished!

It took awhile to figure out states I wasn’t familiar with, but thanks to social media, mainly Instagram, I did my best to rank each state as best I can.

What does it take to have your student sections ranked in your state or perhaps the nation? Make sure to tag us or just simply post your student section on a regular basis. 

It would also help that your student section avoided controversy and behavior as good as a student section can.

Now, this is our first year covering student sections for most of the country, so perhaps it’s not as accurate as one would think, but we are always open for more help in the 2022-23 Student Section season when we expand to 39 states!

2021-22 USA REGIONAL BASKETBALL STUDENT SECTION TOP 125 RANKINGS

  1. ST. AUGUSTINE SAINTS PIT OF SAN DIEGO (REGION: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA)

The Saints Pit stays on top. One of the best out there every basketball season. The Pit is wild and savage. The purple curtain is legendary. When you have the best basketball team in San Diego, you need to have a top of the line student section behind the rim and this student section has a potential dynasty on their hands! The St. Augustine Saints Pit is your back-to-back San Diego basketball Student Section of the Year and now the back-to-back Southern California Basketball Student Section of the Year!

  1. CULLMAN CHAOS (REGION:ALABAMA)

The energy the Chaos brough in the stands and on social media is second to none. The Chaos have become a favorite of mine. The way they market themselves and the way they go wild at games! Chaos is a perfect name for Cullman, which is why they’re the Alabama Basketball Student Section of the Year.

  1. BULLITT EAST REDZONE ROWIDES OF MT. WASHINGTON  (REGION: KENTUCKY)

In a state loaded with amazing school spirit, The Redzone Rowdies found a way to stand on top. It wasn’t easy, but the Bullitt East Redzone Rowdies is your Kentucky Basketball Student Section of the Year.

  1. COPPER HILLS CHAOS OF WEST JORDAN (REGION: UTAH)

The Chaos name fits well with this student section. They packed the gym, they get crazy and loud and they market themselves very well on social media. In a state that has very dominating student sections, it is the Chaos of Copper Hills that takes the Utah Basketball Student Section title!

  1. BROKEN ARROW JUNGLE (REGION: OKLAHOMA)

The state of Oklahoma has some fantastic student sections, but the Broken Arrow Jungle is in a group of its own. A solid student section with fantastic social media work. While the Top 25 was tough to rank in our first year in Oklahoma, the top dawg is a no-brainer, Broken Arrow is Oklahoma’s best in basketball student sections!

  1. JONESBORO DAWGPOUND (REGION: ARKANSAS)

This was a no brainer. The Dawgpound was solid all season and one of the best in the nation as well. We had some amazing student sections in Arkansas, but The Jonesboro Dawgpound takes the basketball student section crown in 2021-22!

  1. OLDHAM COUNTY O-ZONE OF BUCKNER  (REGION: KENTUCKY)

Honestly, I thought the O-Zone would take the top spot. One of my favorite student sections. Perhaps next year they’ll take the top spot.

  1. PLEASANT GROVE HYPE (REGION: UTAH)

The Hype is real with the Pleasant Grove student section. They can shake up a gym and get rowdy. The PG Hype are savages in the stands. 

  1. AMERICAN FORK CAVEMAN CRAZIES (REGION: UTAH)

Caveman Crazies look amazing on social media. They almost resemble a college student section. They can shake it up and get crazy!

  1. SPANISH SPRINGS COUGAR DEN OF SPARKS (REGION: NEVADA)

With two of the best athletic programs in Nevada, you’d expect them to be at the top, but it was the Cougar Den social media work that put them over the top and that is why the Spanish Springs Cougar Den is Nevada’s best in basketball student sections!

  1. WEST SALEM TITANS MAFIA (REGION: OREGON)

Titans Mafia social media is fantastic, but not as good as the student section itself. Wild and rowdy, Titans Mafia ends up as Oregon best as Student Section of the Year in Basketball. 

  1. TAMPA CATHOLIC GREEN LOCOS (REGION: FLORIDA)

The Crusaders have been an attraction after being one of the better basketball programs over the last few years. The Green Locos have been just as consistent and more consistent with their social media. They market themselves quite well and in a state that has a dozen or so student sections that can make a case for the top spot, it is the Green Locos of Tampa Catholic that is on top as the Florida Basketball Student Section of the Year.

  1. ST. THOMAS AQUINAS ROWDY RAIDERS OF FORT LAUDERDALE (REGION: FLORIDA)

Rowdy is putting it lightly for these Raiders. From August to May, this student section is rocking it in the stands.

  1. BISHOP GORMAN G-BLOCK OF LAS VEGAS (REGION: NEVADA)

One of the best basketball programs in the Western US, you better believe the G-Block is hot and it was this past season!

  1. CORNER CANYON STABLE OF DRAPER (REGION: UTAH)

The Stable looks so crazy when you just see them on social media. I can imagine just how crazy they are when you see them in person. 

  1. ALISO NIGUEL DEN OF ALISO VIEJO (REGION: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA)

The last time we had the basketball rankings, the Den wasn’t even on our radar. 

But, they showed strong signs during the pandemic and when they got the ok to go full throttle, the Den was packed and shaking. A rowdy and loud student section that battled with the best of them. They were savages in the stands if you ever made a mistake. The Den also traveled well for the road games. 

For their amazing improvement and fantastic season in the stands, the Aliso Niguel Den is the 2021-22 Orange County Basketball Student Section of the Year!

  1. PONDEROSA LOUR CROWD OF SHINGLE SPRINGS (REGION: NORTHERN CALIFORNIA)

The Loud Crowd was all over the place. They packed the stands in green and white and went wild. They stood apart from the rest of the student sections. The work in the stands paid off as the Loud Crowd of Ponderosa is your Northern California Basketball Student Section of the Year.

  1. CHARLES B. AYCOCK  OF PIKEVILLE  (REGION: NORTH CAROLINA)

This crazy group caught my attention through a basketball fan in North Carolina and I was sold. An insane student section with fantastic spirit and that’s why the Charles B. Aycock Student Section is North Carolina’s best in basketball for 2021-22!

  1. BOONE MAFIA OF GRAY  (REGION: TENNESSEE)

This student section was lit all basketball season and behind the backboard, which made it a nightmare for opposing teams at the free-throw line. Boone Mafia is Tennessee best in basketball for 2021-22.

  1. JACKSON PREP PATRIOT PACK (REGION: MISSISSIPPI)

The way Jackson Prep marketed its student section on social media was amazing. They sold a great student section. This crazy and insane group is the Mississippi Basketball Student Section of the Year!

  1. HARVARD-WESTLAKE FANATICS OF STUDIO CITY (REGION: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA)

There was no excuse for the Harvard-Westlake Fanatics as they had one of the best basketball teams in the country, going all the way to the CIF-SS Open Division Finals. The Fanatics showed up every home game and didn’t let Bronny James and Sierra Canyon of Chatsworth get in the way. The Fanatics rocked it this season and for that, they are the Los Angeles Basketball Student Section Champs!

  1. WHEELER (REGION: GEORGIA)

This state has a lot of solid student sections and Wheeler has been very consistent in packing the gym and causing trouble for their opponents. Social media work has been fantastic. With some of the best in Georgia battling for the top spot, it is Wheeler that takes the Georgia Basketball Student Section of the Year title.

  1. DAMIEN PIT OF LA VERNE (REGION: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA)

The Pit was insane. It craziness was never-ending. If you made a mistake, you’re in trouble because the Pit will not forget your mistakes. The Pit can get on the edge and they can be huge savages, but you appreciate the insane roar in the stands. Amazing group and that’s why the Damien Pit is the 2021-22 Inland Empire Basketball Student Section of the Year.

  1. CASTEEL STAMPEDE OF QUEEN CREEK (REGION: ARIZONA)

The Stampede pack the stands and stayed with their team despite not having one of the best records in the state. Win or loss, ride or die, the Stampede was very supportive and that is why the Stampede is your Arizona Basketball Student Section of the year.

  1. WEST JORDAN (REGION: UTAH)

West Jordan student section shows up and delivers for their Jaguars. It’s a valuable sixth man.

  1. AUSTIN OF DECATUR (REGION: ALABAMA)

Austin can pack a gym like nobodies business. One of the first photos I saw of them during basketball season floored me. They can also work social media quite well.

  1. OLYMPIA  (REGION: WASHINGTON)

Olympia’s social media game was insane. They marketed themselves well and they get the top reward as the Washington Basketball Student Section of the Year.

  1. EAGLE RIVER WOLF DEN (REGION:ALASKA)

One through four, this could have gone either way, but the Wolf Den takes the tiebreaker by way of votes as they are the Alaska Basketball Student Section Champions.

  1. LIBERTY PATRIOT PIT OF HENDERSON  (REGION: NEVADA)

Patriot Pit has been rocking it all year. One of the best ones year after year!

  1. TOMBALL RED NATION (REGION: TEXAS)

In a state where sports is a big part of their lives, it is tough to be the best, but the Red Nation stood out with marketing and school spirit. For the basketball season, Tomball Red Nation takes the title!

  1. FOOTHILL JUNGLE OF PALO CEDRO (REGION: NORTHERN CALIFORNIA)

The Jungle may have finished at number 2, but when it comes to Student Section under the name of Foothill, they take the top crown. Like the other Foothill’s, they we’re crazy and rowdy!

  1. EDMOND MEMORIAL DOG POUND (REGION: OKLAHOMA)

The Dog Pound shows up big to every game. You better bring earplugs when you run into Edmond Memorial because the Dog Pound is a problem.

  1. NORTH LITTLE ROCK  (REGION: ARKANSAS)

North Little Rock came in clutch this season, especially during the rival matchups with Little Rock Central.

  1. NEVILLE JUNGLE OF MONROE  (REGION: LOUISIANA)

The Jungle showed up and showed off on social media. They were everywhere this recent winter and in a state that has some amazing student sections, it’s the Jungle that ends up on top this winter as the Louisiana Basketball Student Section of the year.

  1. VESTAVIA HILLS JUNGLE (REGION: ALABAMA)

Considered one of the best in the land, the Jungle sets the tone for student sections in Alabama. Top 3 is a guarantee from this student section!

  1. SOUTHERN WAYNE HALOS OF DUDLEY (REGION: NORTH CAROLINA)

The Halos are a small, but very rowdy and crazy student section. They’re so consistent with the rowdiness.

  1. SOUTH OLDHAM DRAGONS LAIR OF CRESTWOOD  (REGION: KENTUCKY)

The Dragons Lair battled all season and came very close in being the best student section with Oldham to its name. 

  1. HIGHLAND NEST OF GILBERT (REGION: ARIZONA)

Highland student section is a solid one from start to finish, after winning the Arizona football student section, they stayed the course for a Top 5 finish.

  1. RICHARDSON (REGION: TEXAS)

Richardson was not only one of the best basketball teams in the state, their student section was also one of the best in Texas.

  1. TUPELO BOYS (REGION: MISSISSIPPI)

The Boys are crazy! They mix it up in the stands. Overall, a great student section.

  1. WOODCREEK WOLFPACK (REGION: NORTHERN CALIFORNIA)

The Wolfpack has always been a consistent student section. Loud, packed and nuts! Great Student Section.

  1. BINGHAM PIT CREW OF SOUTH JORDAN (REGION: UTAH)

The Pit Crew can pack the stands. On top of packing the stands, they can shake it up too. Great Student Section.

  1. BAKERSFIELD CHRISTIAN BLUE CREW (REGION: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA)

Blue Crew fit with the best ones in this region, but they went over the top with their showing during the CIF-CS Division I Title game. That put them at the top as the Blue Crew of Bakersfield Christian is the Kern/SLO Basketball Student Section of the Year!

  1. LAKE OSWEGO LAKER NAVY (REGION: OREGON)

Lake Oswego has a tradition in basketball, which includes having Kevin Love on the squad. The Navy sailed to a Top 5 finish. Hoping to see more of the Laker Navy next school year.

  1. BENTONVILLE WEST  (REGION: ARKANSAS)

Based on the photos I saw on Instagram, the Bentonville West student section looked crazy in the stands. Has to be tough for opponents because they look ready to rattle anyone!

  1. EASTLAKE RED SEA OF SAMMAMISH (REGION: WASHINGTON)

The Red Sea wasn’t fond of their football ranking in November, but they do have a solid student section. I get it. Red Sea is a fantastic student section.

  1. DUTCH FORK OF IRMO (REGION: SOUTH CAROLINA)

Despite a 15-12 record from their Silver Foxes, the Dutch Fork was still ride or die and that is why they’re the South Carolina Basketball Student Section of the year.

  1. BOB JONES OF MADISON (REGION: ALABAMA)

This student section is rowdy and are not afraid to be savages on the sidelines. Opposing teams can have trouble when they run into the Bob Jones Student Section.

  1. JESUIT GIZZARD OF NEW ORLEANS  (REGION: LOUISIANA)

Gizzard stayed the course and while they didn’t finish at the top this winter, be careful during football season as they are a beast of a student section in the fall.

  1. BRENTWOOD  (REGION: TENNESSEE)

This student can pack the stands to the gills. Insane student section and can cause problems for others.

  1. MYERS PARK STABLE OF CHARLOTTE (REGION: NORTH CAROLINA)

I caught the Stable late in the season, but they are so impressive on social media. The Mustangs love their Stable.

  1. CATHOLIC BEAR NATION OF BATON ROUGE  (REGION: LOUISIANA)

Bear Nation will always be at least a Top 5 student section in Louisiana. Consistent and crazy with some of the best student section leaders in the country!

  1. EDISON MESS OF HUNTINGTON BEACH (REGION: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA)

The MESS is getting better and better. One of the best in the gym every year and they almost stole the crown from Aliso Niguel. The Edison Thunderclap is legendary. Even with the powerhouse student sections back next season, the MESS will battle for the top spot in 2022-23!

  1. DOUGLAS OF MINDEN  (REGION: NEVADA)

This one might come as a surprise for anyone not familiar with student sections in Nevada, but Douglas turned it up a notch during basketball and showed off their student section on social media. It worked as they get a Top 5 finish!

  1. DUNCANVILLE BLUE CREW (REGION: TEXAS)

This is a tough one. The Blue Crew was spoiled and enjoyed every minute in the stands as they had the best team in the country on the court. Putting them at No. 3 isn’t bad at all. The Blue Crew rocked it.

  1. ENTERPRISE MANIACS OF REDDING (REGION: NORTHERN CALIFORNIA)

I was so impressed with the Maniacs this season. The name is not a coincidence. This group is a bunch of maniacs. Fantastic Student Section.

  1. FORT MILL DAWG POUND (REGION: SOUTH CAROLINA)

The Dawg Pound is insane! Savages on the sideline that can cause havoc for opponents. Maybe they should have been the top Dawg in South Carolina!

  1. JOHNS CREEK GLADIATOR ARMY (REGION: GEORGIA)

The Army is a rowdy group that can pack the stands with the best of them! They also had some unique themes!

  1. NORCROSS BLUE CREW (REGION: GEORGIA)

This is a rowdy group of students. They pack the gym on a consistent basis and come in with great themes!

  1. OXFORD O-ZONE (REGION: MISSISSIPPI)

The O-Zone is a solid student section that will stay in the Top 5 every year, Top 10 at the very least. 

  1. MURRIETA MESA BEAST (REGION: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA)

The Beast is insane. They bring any kind of props they’re allowed to bring (and sometimes not bring). Trying to make a free throw? Good luck because the Beast can get rowdy. This is a large and rowdy group of students.

  1. PERRY OF GILBERT (REGION: ARIZONA)

With one of the best basketball programs in the state, the Perry student section had plenty of reasons to go wild in the stands.

  1. DUNCAN (REGION: OKLAHOMA)

Duncan’s team name is the Demons, which makes sense because they’re not angels with the opposing team. This student section can be a nightmare for others.

  1. MCKINNEY (REGION: TEXAS)

With a top notch basketball team comes a top notch student section and McKinney had that this season. Like a hand in a glove.

  1. MCCRACKEN STANG GANG OF PADUCAH  (REGION: KENTUCKY)

McCracken started off very strong and that may have helped them stay in the Top 5.

  1. MILLBROOK MANIACS OF RALEIGH (REGION: NORTH CAROLINA)

The Maniacs are a wild bunch. One of the first student sections to catch my eye. I can see the Maniacs being a Top 5 every year! 

  1. TIMPVIEW OF PROVO (REGION: UTAH)

One photo I still remember from the Timpview student section is the white-out theme where they packed the gym. It looked amazing. This student section ca hang with the best in Utah!

  1. CHRIST PRESBYTERIAN ACADEMY LIONS DEN OF NASHVILLE  (REGION: TENNESSEE)

The Lions Den is a loud and rowdy group that packs the stands. Fantastic costumes as well.

  1. LEXINGTON CATHOLIC DUNGEON  (REGION: KENTUCKY)

The Dungeon is insane and they can pack up the stands with loud noise and rowdiness.

  1. VALLEY CHRISTIAN BLUE CREW OF CHANDLER (REGION: ARIZONA)

The Blue Crew was solid. A crazy packed student section and one of the better basketball student sections in Arizona!

  1. SUNSET OF PORTLAND (REGION: OREGON)

Sunset student section during football season was crazy, but the basketball one is weird. I like weird.

  1. NEWCASTLE (REGION: OKLAHOMA)

The Newcastle student section is great, but more importantly, very unique and weird and I like weird!

  1. MCQUEEN OF RENO  (REGION: NEVADA)

McQueen picked up where they left off and rocked the stands in the gym. McQueen is a consistent winner in the stands.

  1. ZACHARY BREW CREW  (REGION: LOUISIANA)

When you have the best basketball team on the court, you have endless reasons to go wild in the stands. The Brew Crew enjoyed a great showing on the court and I’m sure the basketball team loved the crazy support.

  1. HOOVER (REGION: ALABAMA)

Known for their sports, the Hoover student section is never unnoticed and this season was no exception. They can get wild in the stands and on social media.

  1. JAMES CLEMENS OF MADISON (REGION: ALABAMA)

This student section is ride or die and are very supportive of their basketball team. They can also pack the stands as well.

  1. GEORGE ROGERS CLARK ROWDY CREW OF WINCHESTER  (REGION: KENTUCKY)

The Rowdy Crew made a deep run with their Cardinals in the state playoffs. They look like such a fun group!

  1. BROPHY PREP STAMPEDE OF PHOENIX (REGION: ARIZONA)

LIke Perry, the Stampede had so many reason to cheer and pack the stands this basketball season. The talk is always great when it comes to Brophy Prep.

  1. PURVIS VORTEX (REGION: MISSISSIPPI)

Maybe I have Purvis ranked a little lower, but Top 5 isn’t bad for this rowdy student section.

  1. NEWMAN GREENIE SWAMP OF NEW ORLEANS  (REGION: LOUISIANA)

When you have an athlete that is getting endless national media attention, your student section will make the best of it. I expect Greenie Swamp to battle for the top spot next school year!

  1. OLYMPUS OF SALT LAKE CITY (REGION: UTAH)

The Olympus student section made a run for it during the playoffs with their Titans as they took the 5-A title.

  1. CHIAWANA HAWK SQUAD OF PASCO REGION: WASHINGTON)

Hawk Squad came away with the same solid performance in the stands that they had during football season. All around a great student section.

  1. LAKE HIGHLANDS OF DALLAS (REGION: TEXAS)

This student section packed the stands and had some great themes this season. Their matchup against Richardson looked so amazing. It was deserving of a Top 5 finish.

  1. THOUSAND OAKS GREEN HOLE (REGION: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA)

The Green Hole was on top for most of the basketball season. This student section is a beast every winter and they showed no signs of slowing down this season.

  1. DORMAN (REGION: SOUTH CAROLINA)

Dorman is one of the craziest bunch in South Carolina. The themes and rowdiness is amazing. Wouldn’t mind checking this student section out in person.

  1. SOLDOTNA (REGION: ALASKA)

Soldotna social media game is the best in Alaska. Creative. I can imagine they also rock a solid student section in the stands.

  1. RICHMOND BLEACHER CREATURES OF ROCKINGHAM (REGION: NORTH CAROLINA)

This student section packs the stands with their crazy themes. I’m sure it is a pain in the neck for opposing teams when they run into the Bleacher Creatures.

  1. HARDIN VALLEY ACADEMY NEST  (REGION: TENNESSEE)

The Nest is a crazy and nutty student section. The signs are amazing, funny as well.

  1. POPE JOHN PAUL II BLUE MAN GROUP OF HENDERSONVILLE  (REGION: TENNESSEE)

The Blue Man Group not only plays shows in Las Vegas, but they also go wild in the stands. An all-boys student section is bound to take it up a notch on the weird! 

  1. OREM (REGION: UTAH)

Orem student section takes the edge to finish in the Top 10 thanks to their rowdiness at home.

  1. BELL COUNTY OF PINEVILLE  (REGION: KENTUCKY)

Bell County is a great and very weird student section. Weird is what it takes to be considered on of the nations best student sections!

  1. PLANO (REGION: TEXAS)

Seeing them battle with Lake Highlands in a sea of white was pretty special. Plano Student Section looks wild!

  1. WEST ORANGE 6TH MAN OF WINTER GARDEN (REGION: FLORIDA)

The 6th Man, or the 12th Man during football season, this student section shows it off and shows it off very well on social media. They want everyone to know just how crazy the West Orange Student Section is.

  1. WEST FLORENCE KNASTY KNIGHTS (REGION: SOUTH CAROLINA)

The Knights student section is a year round student that is straight-up nasty…or in their case Knasty! The name fits this crazy group of students.

  1. BUFORD WOLF GANG (REGION: GEORGIA)

The Wolfgang sits behind the backboard and makes the best of it by distracting opposing shooters in their green and white.

  1. SUNNYSLOPE GREEN TEAM OF PHOENIX (REGION: ARIZONA)

The Green Team (I think that’s the name of this student section) is an automatic Top 10 student section. I might regret not putting Sunnyslope in the Top 5. Great student section!

  1. DAVIS MOB OF KAYSVILLE (REGION: UTAH)

The Mob did just that in the stands. They mobbed the gyms and really mobbed the opponent contraction as well. 

  1. CREAN LUTHERAN BLUE ZONE OF IRVINE (REGION: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA)

When you have the best team in the OC and one of the best teams in the country, you’ll go loud and crazy too. The Blue Zone went chaotic inside the tent at Crean Lutheran! The Blue Zone is insane and battles with the best of the best!

  1. SENACA (REGION: SOUTH CAROLINA)

The Cats can pack the gym and always bring their crazy antics with them to the hardwood.

  1. DUNBAR DOG POUND OF LEXINGTON  (REGION: KENTUCKY)

The Dog Pound can hang with the best of them in Kentucky and now they can say they can hang with the best of them in the country!

  1. CLINTON (REGION: MISSISSIPPI)
  2. HURRICANE TIGER ARMY (REGION: UTAH)
  3. EDMOND SANTA FE WOLFPACK (REGION: OKLAHOMA)
