  The 6th Man showed up big this Winter, but that shouldn’t be a surprise as the 6th Man comes through every time! In order to be recognized the best in Minnesota, you have to show out every game. The 6th Man is definitely a disadvantage for opposing teams and I’m sure Eagan Athletics appreciates. They definitely showed up in the voting as the Eagan 6th Man is your 2025-2026 Minnesota Winter Student Section of the Year!

  The Aves Cave, like many of the Student Section in Ohio this Winter, broke in the Rankings after going unranked. Aves Cave took on some solid Student Sections in the playoff voting. They batted the same way they battled in the stands. Solid group in the stands that look rowdy. Aves Cave battles anywhere as they made a run to the Elite Eight of the North American Winter Student Section Playoffs.   1. Vancouver College Hype (Last Year’s Rank: 1)

  While the rival Student Section made a deep run all the way to the Final Four of the North American Winter Student Section Playoffs, the Vancouver College Hype put their efforts in being the best in Canada. The Hype shows up when needed and you can tell by the photos/videos they post. If you want to be the best Student Section in Canada, you still need to get through The Hype as Vancouver College is your 2025-2026 Canada Winter Student Section of the Year!

  2025 WISCONSIN FINAL TOP 40 FALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGSFebruary 4, 2026

  The time has come to start ranking 50 states that we covered this football season. 

  To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is a huge huge understatement.

  We had 11 Student Section of the Week winners in New Jersey and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.

  Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want it and marketing is key. 

  You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

  I know Student Sections complain but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

  A Student Section that doesn’t post videos or photos of there Student Section on a consistent basis is like a tree falling with no one around. It doesn’t make any noise.

  This is our fourth year covering Student Sections in Wisconsin. We had Franklin winning it in 2022, Kimberly Red Swarm in 2023 and Arrowhead in 2024.

  This state has some solid Student Sections, but they don’t have that one Student Section that powers over everyone else. The top spots are up for anyone in Wisconsin.

  So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Badger State.

  2025 WISCONSIN FINAL TOP 40 FALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

  1. De Pere (2024 Rank: NR)

  It is pretty impressive to go from unranked to the top spot and DePere did just that. Solid Student Section that proved to us that they are a large and rowdy group of kids in the stands and when given the chance to vote for the best Student Section in the state, DePere showed up and voted and now they can say that DePere is the 2025 Wisconsin Fall Student Section of the Year!

  We have 14 Student Sections going from unranked to the Top 40. This state grew when it comes to the Student Section list. It’s only going to get better moving forward!

  So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Great Lake State.

  2025 MICHIGAN FINAL TOP 40 FALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

  1. Utica Tribe (2024 Rank: 9)

  After taking the title in 2023, the Tribe is back on top. The Tribe may not be the largest Student Section, but they make up for it with volume and social media promotion. They love to consistency show off their Student Section on social media. The Tribe battled in the stands and in the voting polls as they end up on top once again as the Utica Tribe is your 2025 Michigan Fall Student Section Champions!

  This is our fourth year covering Football Student Sections in Indiana. We had Cathedral Irish Nightmare winning it in 2022, Bishop Chatard Trojan Nation in 2023 and Fishers Tiger Cage in 2024.

  This state is loaded with insane and amazing Student Sections. It helps when a TV channel in Indianapolis where the best Student Section in that region gets a banner. That has open the floodgates in regards to school spirit. Hats off to WISH-TV The Zone.

  Also, I am a huge fan of the “These Guys” podcast and they always mention a few high schools in Indiana. I love how they mention some of the Student Sections as well. In fact, they mentioned Student Sections and the high schools in Indiana as well as other big programs in the US. Definitely give them a listen, it is worth it….not bad for a fat guy!

  1. Brownsburg Bone Zone (2024 Rank: 3)

  The Bone Zone knows that it has to take a lot to be on top in Indiana because this state is full of crazy Student Sections. Brownsburg stepped it up several notches and went nuts in the stands! Obviously, Brownsburg was chasing another title, but they can also take this title as the Bone Zone is your 2025 Indiana Fall Student Section Champions!

  To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is a huge huge understatement.

  We had 11 Student Section of the Week winners in Minnesota and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.

  Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want it and marketing is key. 

  You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

  I know Student Sections complain but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

  A Student Section that doesn’t post videos or photos of there Student Section on a consistent basis is like a tree falling with no one around. It doesn’t make any noise.

  This is our fourth year covering Football Student Sections in Minnesota. We had Minnetonka Blue Crew winning it in 2022, St. Michael-Albertville in 2023 and Edina in 2024.

  This state is loaded with fantastic Student Sections and it’s not like there’s an obvious pick for number one. One of the deepest states in the nation when it comes to Student Sections.

  So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the North Star State.

  In a state loaded with fantastic Student Sections, I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect White Bear Lake at the top, but when it comes to voting, they wanted it more. It’s not like this is a dud for the top spot, White Bear Lake has a solid Student Section with a strong deserving case for number one. Packed stands with crazy loud kids. Definitely deserving for number one. White Bear Lake is your 2025 Minnesota Fall Student Section Champions!

  I felt like the Hype would be in total control of Canada when it comes to Student Sections, but they have company. I feel this will be close, but the Hype looks like a stand full of nutty students that go crazy for their football team!   In 2015, yours truly began covering Student Sections in Orange County, California. We expanded to Southern California in 2017 and in 2021, we added four more states and added 15 more states. We went to 40 states two years ago.

  We went to all 50 states in winter of 2023 and now we add our friends from the North in Canada on top of dividing Texas into two regions, similar to what we did with California. No one has ever done that before…until now!

  This is still a one-man operation for the most part, but we have some help with some partners on Instagram like good friends at OC Student Sections and Stadium Geeks with help from Maryland Student Section Rater, NorCal Student Sections and many more.

  This year we plan to get several “barstool” pages that showcase Student Sections in their states. Some of those pages were very helpful last year as we get more accurate with our rankings.

  I know that Student Sections have a lot of work to do to get the students to the games to cheer on their classmates and go along with the theme and make sure they don’t cause trouble. These student sections deserve recognition.

  This past season, we several more Student Sections, including some big powerhouse ones that not only will be a top dawg in their state, but will be a big player in the National side!

  We will kick off the Student Section season with Preseason Football Student Section Rankings. REMEMBER, this is a PREVIEW. It is merely a prediction. The real rankings come out in November or December. 

  If you feel your student section isn’t ranked high enough or not ranked at all, let us know and we’ll keep a close eye on them.

  Every week, we will also have Student Section of the Week for each state. Once you win Student Section of the Week, you can’t win it again, but you still have to battle for the top spot in your state and perhaps the Nation as we will also name a Football Student Section National Champion.

  Last Football season, we had the Edina as the top Football Student Section in Minnesota. Edina is one of the biggest Student Sections in the state and they are slowly becoming a no brainer every year on here for the top spot. We may see a repeat in 2025.

  In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Minnesota, it’s the Rosemount. Rosemount is a large Student Section that can hang with the best of them. They have a solid social media presence and consistency show off their Student Section.   2025 MICHIGAN FALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGSAugust 25, 2025

  In 2015, yours truly began covering Student Sections in Orange County, California. We expanded to Southern California in 2017 and in 2021, we added four more states and added 15 more states. We went to 40 states two years ago.

  We went to all 50 states in winter of 2023 and now we add our friends from the North in Canada on top of dividing Texas into two regions, similar to what we did with California. No one has ever done that before…until now!

  This is still a one-man operation for the most part, but we have some help with some partners on Instagram like good friends at OC Student Sections and Stadium Geeks with help from Maryland Student Section Rater, NorCal Student Sections and many more.

  This year we plan to get several “barstool” pages that showcase Student Sections in their states. Some of those pages were very helpful last year as we get more accurate with our rankings.

  I know that Student Sections have a lot of work to do to get the students to the games to cheer on their classmates and go along with the theme and make sure they don’t cause trouble. These student sections deserve recognition.

  This past season, we several more Student Sections, including some big powerhouse ones that not only will be a top dawg in their state, but will be a big player in the National side!

  We will kick off the Student Section season with Preseason Football Student Section Rankings. REMEMBER, this is a PREVIEW. It is merely a prediction. The real rankings come out in November or December. 

  If you feel your student section isn’t ranked high enough or not ranked at all, let us know and we’ll keep a close eye on them.

  Every week, we will also have Student Section of the Week for each state. Once you win Student Section of the Week, you can’t win it again, but you still have to battle for the top spot in your state and perhaps the Nation as we will also name a Football Student Section National Champion. 

  We continue with the 2025 Fall Student Section Season with a preview of Michigan.

  This state has been pretty even level on school spirit. No one has had the upper hand, so this fall is up for grabs for everyone. Maybe someone will change that and make this an easy choice come November.

  Last Football season, we had the Eisenhower Zoo as the top Football Student Section in Michigan. The Zoo had a unique Instagram page and that’s a good thing. They loved to show off their Student Section on Instagram and if they continue that route, they will have a strong chance in repeating as Student Section Champs.

  In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Michigan, it’s the Henry Ford II Nest. The Nest was somewhat quiet last year. I was expecting more, but I feel I will be hearing a lot from the Nest in 2025 as they move back up in the rankings.

  

  Will the Nest make a return to the top or will the Zoo stay at the top in The Great Lake State? Let’s find out.

  As we get to know and discover more Student Sections over the past few years, we noticed Ohio is getting more and more loaded with Student Section talent. A lot of fantastic Student Sections in this state. It has become one of the best states for rowdy Student Sections. Ohio is for Student Sections, not just lovers…terrible pun, I’m sorry.

  Last Football season, we had the Centerville Herd as the top Football Student Section in Ohio. The Herd went for the repeat and I’m sure they’ll look for the threepeat, but it will take a whole lot of work to stay at the top. Two years ago, it was a no brainer who was the best Student Section in the state. Last year, it was a close one and Herd barely got the top spot. This list is deeper this year, so this will be a big challenge for the Herd to hold on.

  In each state, we will name one student section to look out for. A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Ohio, it’s the Mason Blackhole. The Blackhole has been a solid Student Section, but is always on the outside when it comes for the top spot. There’s a lot of solid Student Sections in this state and perhaps it is time I give the Blackhole the credit it deserves, not just in Ohio, but in the nation. They have a great social media presence, and I feel if this state struggles with lack of Student Section showing on Instagram and the Blackhole stays the course, they will finish on top.

  

  Will the Blackhole be the new top dawg or will the Herd go 3 for 3 in The Buckeye State? Let’s find out.

  2025 OHIO FALL TOP 40 STUDENT SECTION PRESEASON RANKINGS

  1. Elder (2024 Rank: 2)

  If Elder social media was as active as the normal Student Section, this would be a no-brainer, but a Student Section not posting on social media is a tree falling when no one is around. It doesn’t make any noise. If they show it off on Instagram, Elder won’t have to worry about being number one in Ohio, they can battle for the Fall National Student Section Title! This is a large Student Section and you know they go nuts in the stands. Elder will have to let us know that they’re still the same crazy group of kids in 2025!

  This state has some great Student Sections, but we have yet to find that super power Student Section that above the rest in Wisconsin. A lot of equally great Student Sections here, so it is a fair wide open game in 2025.

  Last Football season, we had the Arrowhead as the top Football Student Section in Wisconsin. Arrowhead has been pretty consistent when it comes to showing off their school spirit. They go all out every year on Instagram and it will take that and maybe more if they want to repeat in 2025.

A student section that while they aren’t ranked super high or weren’t ranked high last year, they’re a Student Section to lookout for and for Wisconsin, it’s Mukwonago. They were on the outside of the Top 10 two seasons ago and moved into the Top 5 last season. If they consistently show off their Student Section on Instagram, they’ll keep moving up and perhaps take the top spot. It’s a wide open game in Wisconsin, so they have a solid chance here.

  This was one of those Student Sections I wanted to mention to lookout for, but I also felt this is probably going to be the best Student Section in Wisconsin by the end of the Fall Season. This is large Student Section and look like a rowdy and loud crowd. If they work their social media magic and show off their Student Section on Instagram, then they will prevail and be on top in a group of solid Student Sections in Wisconsin.

  We found a new powerhouse in the Student Section scene in the Kit Pit of Evanston Township. They look like a crazy group of students that packs the stands very well. It’s impressive. It takes a lot to be the top dawg in the state full of crazy Student Sections, but the Kit Pit handled business and made a deep run in the in the National Student Section Playoffs, making it all the way to the Final Four and almost advancing to the National Championship Round. The Kit Pit has cemented their name in the National Student Section world as they’re the 2024-2025 Illinois Winter Student Section of the Year!

  The time has come to start ranking 50 states that we covered this football season. 

  To say I’m overwhelmed with the work that comes along with this is a huge huge understatement.

  We had 11 Student Section of the Week winners in Iowa and that helped us determine who had the best Student Section and which ones wanted it more.

  Just showing up in large crowds isn’t enough. It might fool other outlets that don’t cover Student Sections, but not us. We have to know how bad you want it and marketing is key. 

  You will see top-notch Student Sections miss out at the top spot, but we kept saying it over and over and over again, in order to be considered number one, you have to win the Student Section of the Week title. Otherwise, what is the point of having that contest?!

  I know Student Sections complain but remember it’s thousands of Student Sections and only me. Social media is your friend if used correctly.

  A Student Section that doesn’t post videos or photos of there Student Section on a consistent basis is like a tree falling with no one around. It doesn’t make any noise.

  This is our third year covering Football Student Sections in Iowa. We had Dowling Catholic Maroon Crew winning it in 2022 and 2023.

  Maroon Crew is a fantastic Student Section, but a three-peat is going to be difficult. We can’t wait to see if someone will take the top spot.

  We will have 3 Student Sections in Iowa that will be voting in the Student Section playoffs that will begin soon.

  So, let’s see who made the list and who is the best in the Hawkeye State.

  2024 IOWA FINAL TOP 40 FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION RANKINGS

  RED = PLAYOFF BOUND

  1. Waukee (2023 Rank: NR)

  This Student Section is weird, but that’s the goal for all Student Section. They can also pack the stands and go nuts for their football team. They showed off their Student Section on a consistent basis this fall and got their reward. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon, but for now, they’re the Iowa Football Student Section of the Year!

  1. Ankeny Centennial (2023 Rank: 3)

  This might be one of the larger Student Sections in the state. If they promoted their Student Section on Instagram on a more consistent basis, I think they would’ve taken the top spot. We had a very very hard time looking for photos/videos of this Student Section all season. Regardless, this is still one of the best in the state. We’ll see how they’ll fare in the National Student Section playoffs that start pretty soon.
