NEW FOOTBALL STUDENT SECTION PLAYOFF VOTING FORMAT (AND OUR “STUDENT SECTION BRACKTOLOGY”

As we enter our third season covering Football Student Sections in all 50 states, we are noticing more and more powerhouse Student Sections across the nation and multiple ones in each state.

It would be unfair to have only one Student Section representing their state and more so with so many students and fans rushing to our website to vote multiple times. It doesn’t help that our bandwidth can’t handle 100,000 or more fans jumping on our website at once and that has happened so many times.

We know some Students are far advanced in finding ways to make the best of a situation in the voting system for their Student Section. While no one has been caught, someone always plays that card.

In order to throw that card away, the Student Section Report will be moving their voting system to Instagram!

With eight regions across the USA, we can set up 16-Student Section brackets for each region, the winner of each region will move on to the Elite 8 for the National Football Student Section title. Voting in these regions will go for 2 days each until we reach the Elite 8, where they go for 3 days. For the Championship, they will go for 4 days.

The winning National Football Student Section Champion will receive a Championship Banner.

Here are the each regions that will battle for a regional and National Football Student Section title.

NORTH EAST

Connecticut: Hand Tigers Den, Masuk Red Army, Morgan Dog Pound (On the bubble: Newtown Hawks Nest, Southington Knights Krew, Lyman Hall Wob Mob, Notre Dame Green Machine)

Maine: Oxford Hills, Kennebunk (On the Bubble: York Catpack)

Massachusetts: Natick, Malden Catholic Pit, Nashoba Pack (On the Bubble: Newburyport, Xavierian Brothers Hawks Nest, Durfee)

New Hampshire: Nashua North, Bishop Guertin Nest (On the Bubble: Spaulding Raider Nation, Nashua South)

New York: Shaker Barnyard, Whitesboro (On the Bubble: Clarkstown Southside Rumble, Liverpool Tribe, Guilderland Red Sea)

Rhode Island: Bishop Hendricken Mangate, Barrington Birdcage (On the Bubble: Smithfield Sentinel Army)

Vermont: Brattleboro Union, North County Union (On the Bubble: Rutland)

Thoughts on the North East so far: Well I know our readership in Connecticut grew, because the second they saw those Preseason Rankings, they let me hear about it. This state is the strongest one in the region. It will be tough to choose who goes to the Student Section playoffs. … Maine on the other hand is a bit quiet, more so than usual. Oxford Hills as always is the front runner and Kennebunk jumped in big and can take one of the lower seeds in this 16-seed bracket. … I wasn’t sure about Natick, but they have matured from what I see and now they can contend. Malden Catholic Pit is always there and Nashoba Pack is going to have to battle to stay in this. Mad props to Durfee though. Small Student Section, but they post every week. That’s what I love to see. I love it! … New Hampshire i’m not seeing anything different, same two powerhouse Student Sections in here in Nashua North and Bishop Guertin Nest, but Spalding Raider Nation showed me some good stuff in the stands not too long ago and if they keep doing that, they will crash the party. … New York is once again SHaker Barnyard and we have some new powers in this state. We’re slowly getting exposure in New York (Also, I’ll be somewhere above New York City next fall, so I’ll get to see some Student Sections there soon!) … Bishop Hendricken is leading Rhode Island, but not by much this time because Barrington Birdcage is promoting itself on a weekly basis and they could have a higher seed in the playoffs if they keep it up, but be careful with Smithfield, that’s a good Student Section. … Vermont is a bit quiet, but aside from Brattleboro Union being back on here, North County Union has made a surprise jump here. They might take a low seed in the playoffs, but better than no playoffs.

EAST COAST

Delaware: Salesianum (On the Bubble: Milford)

Maryland: Archbishop Spalding Rowdy Red, Northwest Jag Nation, Frederick Sabre Nation (On the Bubble: Quince Orchard Red Army)

New Jersey: Bergen Catholic Crusaders Crazies, St. Augustine Prep Richland Rowdies, Toms River North Pit (On the Bubble: St. Thomas Aquinas Trojan Army, Morristown, Toms River South Tribe)

North Carolina: Weddington, Myers Park Stable, Cannon Crazies (On The Bubble: Providence Day, Wakefield Wackos)

Pennsylvania: Jefferson Jungle, Mt. Lebanon Devils Den, South Fayette Jungle (On the Bubble: Cardinal O’Hara Lions Den, Bethel Park Nest)

Virginia: Loudoun Valley Jungle, Tuscarona Tusky Terror, Forest Park Den (On the Bubble: Tabb, Stone Bridge Dogpound)

Thoughts on the East Coast so far: Delaware may look like it will have only one Student Section in the playoffs, but it is a small state. It was bound to happen. …Archbishop Spaulding Rowdy Red is an easy choice and Northwest Jag Nation has been amazing on social media. Frederick Sabre Nation is small, but their social media marketing is one of the best in Maryland. …Bergen Catholic Crusaders Crazies wasn’t fond that they started the season at #2, but they have proved to us that they’re the best in New Jersey so far. St. Augustine Prep Richland Rowdies has battled and look like they’ll be in the playoffs, but only one Toms River will go. We’ll see if its North Pit or South Tribe. …North Carolina has some expected Student Sections here in Weddington and Myers Park Stable. Cannon Crazies started strong and may sneak in the playoffs. …Thomas Jefferson Jungle has been amazing on social media and need to keep it that way in order to get into the playoffs. Mt. Lebanon Devils Den started very strong, but have been quiet recently. They need to finish strong if they want to make the playoffs. South Fayette Jungle has been solid recently on social media and deserve a chance here. Cardinal O’Hara Lions Den has been very quiet this fall. Very different from last fall. …Virginia has been weird. The top dawgs in this state have been super quiet. Loudoun Valley Jungle has stayed the course and Forest Park Den has made the jump to make the playoffs, but the big Student Sections like Tuscarona Tusky Terror could jump in and take the Den out.

SOUTH

Alabama: Auburn Unit, Thompson War Zone, Huntsville. (On the Bubble: Hoover Boneyard, Mountain Brook Spartan Nation)

Florida: Lake Brantley, Deland Dawg Party, Apopka Nest. (On the Bubble: St. Thomas Aquinas Rowdy Raiders, Flagler Palm Coast)

Georgia: Houston County Hoco Locos, Hart County Dogpound (On the Bubble: Rome Pack Attack, Buford Wolf Gang, Wheeler)

Louisiana: Catholic Bear Naish (On the Bubble: Lafayette Lions Den, St Paul’s Catholic, Fontainebleau)

Mississippi: Brookhaven Red Nation, Oxford O-Zone (On the Bubble: Oak Grove Warrior Mafia)

South Carolina: Fort Mill Dawgpound, Clover Crazies (On the Bubble: Nation Ford Dirty Birds, Mauldin, Chapin)

Tennessee: Baylor, Hillsboro Herd, Nolansville (On the Bubble: Ravenwood Nest, Houston Mustang Mob)

Thoughts on the South so far: The South is struggling in the Student Section, however, they definitely have a valid excuse. Hurricanes are terrible and we hope everyone is safe out there. That said, some Student Sections have posted their school spirit. Auburn Unit has been quiet, but not quiet enough as they are in as of now. Thompson War Zone is taken advantage of Student Sections not posting on social media. Speaking of which, Huntsville kept saying their the best, but we’ve seen one video this season. If that’s all they post, then someone will take one of the playoff spots over them. …DeLand Dawg Party got off to a solid start and they have to keep showing off the Dawg Party in order to get in. Lake Brantley has done that and you can almost guarantee them a playoff spot. Apopka Nest has posted much, so anyone can take them out in Florida and that isn’t a tough task in this state. …We might have some new powers in Georgia, but it is anyone race there. Houston Hoco Locos still has to prove itself in order to stay in the race and while Hart County Dogpound is small, they love to promote themselves on social media and they deserve to be here. …Louisiana has been very very quiet with the exception of Catholic Bear Naish. Bear Naish back and better than ever! …Louisiana isn’t as quiet as Mississippi. I expect more this fall despite mother nature getting in the way. Oxford O-Zone and Brookhaven Red Nation have been the only two solid Student Sections in this state. Student Sections like Oak Grove Warrior Mafia better step up. …Clover Crazies still has to prove themselves that they deserve to be here and it will be a tough task, but they’ll let us know they have one of the best Student Sections out there. Fort Mill Dawgpound has been amazing and need to keep it that way. …Tennessee has been the best state in the South Region and Baylor is looking like a National Student Section Championship contender. Hillsboro Herd has been incredible so far and Nolansville has to keep proving they belong here before Student Sections like Ravenwood Nest sneak in.

MID WEST

Illinois: St. Charles North Blue Man Group, Prospect Underground, Maine South Hawk Nation (On the Bubble: Lincoln Way West Westside, Batavia Dogpound, Leyden Nest)

Indiana: Carmel, Noblesville Miller Nation, Fishers Tiger Cage (On the Bubble: New Albany Dogpound, Bishop Chatard Trojan Nation)

Kentucky: Henderson County Colonial Crazies, Paducah Tilghman (On the Bubble: Oldham County O-Zone, McCracken Stang Gang)

Michigan: Eisenhower Nest, Chippewa Valley Rowdy Red Zone (On the Bubble: Caledonia, Henry Ford II Nest)

Ohio: Centerville Herd, Elder (On the Bubble: Maryville Pit, St. Xavier Bomb Squad, Loveland, Mason Black Hole)

West Virginia: Morgantown Rowdie Society, John Marshall Maniacs (On the Bubble: Oak Hill Devils Den, Martinsburg Dog Pound)

Wisconsin: Mukwonago, Arrowhead (On the Bubble: Kimberly Red Swarm, Kettle Moraine)

Thoughts on the Mid West so far: St. Charles North Blue Fan Group is looking to repeat as State Champs and their social media game is amazing. Prospect Underground got off to a great start and they have to keep showing off their Student Section in order to stay in the playoff hunt. Maine South Hawk Nation is on the fence here, so they have to keep showing off their Student Section before someone takes their seat. …It’s anyones game in Indiana, but Carmel has been incredible. Noblesville Miller Nation has been very impressive Fishers Tiger Cage is in for now, but New Albany Dogpound is right on their tail. Henderson County Colonial Crazies has been a big favorite in Kentucky this fall. Paducah Tilghman has joined the battle and have been very impressive. Oldham County and McCracken will have to be consistant to show off their Student Section in order to take one of the playoff spots. …Eisenhower Nest has been fantastic this fall and look like the leaders in Michigan. Chippewa Valley Red Zone has just jumped in on the race and we hope to see more of them! …As always, the Centerville Herd is leading Ohio and Elder has joined them, but there’s a bunch of amazing Student Sections that will battle for a playoff spot. St. Xavier Bomb Squad came in hot this fall and then fizzled super quick, we need more of them. …West Virginia has two top dawgs in Morgantown Rowdie Society and John Marshall Maniacs, but they have some others that will try to get a playoff spot as well. …Wisconsin is open for anyone, but Mukwonago and Arrowhead have been two of the best so far.

CENTRAL

Arkansas: Fayetteville Dawgpound, Vilonia Jort Squad (On the Bubble: Pulaski Academy, Bryant Swarm)

Iowa: Iowa City West, Dowling Catholic Maroon Crew (On the Bubble: Ankeny Centennial Jungle, Spirit Lake, Clear Creek-Amana)

Minnesota: Edina, Minnetonka Blue Crew, Maple Grove Party Zone (On the Bubble: Wayzata Trojan Nation, Eden Prairie Nest)

Missouri: Eureka Catpound, Chaminade Red Army, Staley Nest (On the Bubble: Joplin Nest, Sarcoxie, Central Dawgpound, Bolivar)

Oklahoma: Edmond Memorial Dogpound, Norman North Den, Bishop Kelley Crazy Corner (On the Bubble: Union Hawks Nest, Jenks Superfans, Moore Maniacs)

Texas: Allen Eagle Zone, Central Catholic, George Ranch Rowdies (On the Bubble: Atascocita, Texas City, Westlake, The Woodlands Highlander Hype)

Thoughts on the Central so far: Arkansas two powers are nowhere to be scene, so it is now Fayetteville Dawgpound turn to be the new king in the state. Vilonia Jort Squad got off to a great start and need to maintain consistency in order to get a playoff spot. …Iowa City West has been impressive, but will they have what it takes to push Dowling Catholic Maroon Crew out? Maroon Crew has been impressive and Ankeny Centennial Jungle has questioned that in the past. However, the Jungle has not proved they are the better Student Section this fall. …Edina is looking like a National Championship contender this fall and Minnetonka has stayed the course. Maple Grove Party Zone social media presence is the reason why they’re in the playoff hunt. …Edmond Memorial Dogpound has jumped back in the race and that’s a good thing with Bishop Kelley Crazy Corner social media game putting them here. Norman Crazies has been great and will have to battle to stay here. …Allen Eagle Zone is great, but Central Catholic and George Ranch Rowdies are on their tail and we know there’s others that will battle for a playoff spot in Texas.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN

Colorado: Cherry Creek, Mountain Vista, Legend Coliseum Crazies (On the Bubble: Arvada West, Regis Jesuit Red Sea, Dakota Ridge)

Kansas: Blue Valley Northwest Dawgpound, Olathe South Birdhouse, Maize South Bullpen (On the Bubble: Olathe Northwest Raven Nation, Kapaun Mt. Carmel Boneyard, DeSoto Wildside)

Nebraska: Papillion-LaVista South Black Hole, Millard West Crazies, Creighton Prep Birdcage (On the Bubble: Westside Red Shield, Lincoln Southwest Nest, Waverly Crew)

North Dakota: Legacy, Red River (On the Bubble: Bismarck, Century, St. Mary’s Central)

South Dakota: Harrisburg Jungle, Washington, Brookings (On the Bubble: Dakota Valley Pit Crew)

Wyoming: Natronia County Stampede, Campbell County (On the Bubble: Mountain View Stampede, Lander Valley, Kelly Walsh)

Thoughts on the Rocky Mountain so far: Cherry Creek keeps proving everyone that they belong here. Mountain Vista has been impressive and Legend Coliseum Crazies has been great too, but we have time for the others to make an impression to take them out of the playoff race. …Blue Valley Northwest Dawgpound has made the best of Kapaun Mt. Carmel Boneyard not being on social media. They’ve been great and Olathe South Birdhouse and Maize South Bullpen have been solid. but there’s a couple Student Sections that may battle. …Papillion-LaVIsta South Blackhole has been great as always. MIllard West Crazies is here for now and can be taken down real quick if they don’t start posting their Student Section on Instagram. The Bird Cage of Creighton Prep is on the same boat. It is anyone’s game in Nebraska. …North Dakota might take one of Nebraska playoff spots. Legacy and Red River are automatic and Bismarck should be there too. This state is underrated. Amazing school spirit here. …Harrisburg Jungle has been incredible. Washington and Brookings will have to do a lot to get a playoff spot over Dakota Valley Pit Crew. …Natronia County Stampede is a shoe-in in Wyoming. Campbell County has the edge over Mountain View Stampede and Lander Valley, but things can change in a few weeks.

NORTHWEST

Alaska: Service (On the Bubble: Soldotna)

Northern California: Del Oro Blackhole, De La Salle 12th Man, Laguna Creek Cardinal Crew (On the Bubble: Rocklin Storm, Folsom Dog Pack, Oakdale Stang Gang, Shasta Pack)

Idaho: Rocky Mountain, Borah Rowdies, Madison (On the Bubble: Rigby Maroon Militia, Hillcrest)

Montana: Hamilton, Gallatin, Hellgate (On the Bubble: Big Fork)

Oregon: West Linn, Westview Cat Crew, Ida B. Wells (On the Bubble: Barlow, Oregon City, Lakeridge, Sherwood)

Washington: Mount Si Red Sea, Kamiakin, Inglemoor Viking Ship (On the Bubble: Graham-Kapowsin Boom Squad, Issaquah, Bothell Blue Train)

Thoughts on the Northwest so far: At least one Student Section in each state and Alaska will have Service in as they’re the only one that posted Students cheering. …Del Oro Blackhole is back, but Laguna Creek Cardinal Crew hasn’t skipped a beat in Northern California. De La Salle 12th Man started off super strong and have to stay consistent in order to stay in the playoff hunt. …Rocky Mountain is looking like a solid Student Section in Idaho. Borah Rowdies and Madison are hanging on for a playoff spot, it’s anyones game after Rocky Mountain. …Hamilton, Gallatin have proven they may get a playoff spot while Hellgate will battle with Big Fork right behind them. …Oregon has some Student Sections that have been all talk, but no fizzle. Ida B. Wells is hanging on, but Westview Cat Crew and West Linn have the slight edge. Anyone’s game in this state. …Mount Si Red Sea has been better, but they have a shot as of now. Kamiakin social media presence has improved as has Inglemoor Viking Ship, but they better keep it up if Eastlake Red Sea decides to talk finally posting their Student Section.

SOUTHWEST

Arizona: Brophy Prep Stampede, Highland Hawks Nest, Salpointe Catholic Lancer Legion (On the Bubble: Higley Knightmare, Saguaro Zoo, Perry Puma Pit)

Southern California: Great Oak Red Wave, Carlsbad Loud Crowd, Redondo Union Flock, Aliso Niguel Den, Bakersfield Drill Crew (On the Bubble: Murrieta Valley Red Zone, Del Norte Flock, Hart Tribe, Chaparral )

Hawaii: Kahuku Code Red (On the Bubble: ‘Iolani, Kaiser)

Nevada: Liberty Patriot Pit, Damonte Ranch Blue Hole (On the Bubble: Spanish Springs Cougar Den, Galena Riot Squad, Las Vegas Jungle)

New Mexico: Rio Rancho, Las Cruces (On the Bubble: Centennial, Hobbs)

Utah: Syracuse Curse, Orem Ambush, Hunter (On the Bubble: Timpview T-Birds, Corner Canyon Stable, American Fork Cave)

Thoughts on the Southwest so far: Brophy Prep Stampede have been savages this fall and they will battle with Highland Nest. Salpointe Catholic Lancer Legion has improved its social media game and will have to continue that with several solid Student Sections on their tail. …Great Oak Red Wave is a front runner for a National Student Section title. While Carlsbad Loud Crowd is not a solid as they were in the last couple of years (for Carlsbad standards), they’re still the favorites in San Diego. Redondo Union Flock is the leader in LA again while Aliso Niguel Den has been insane this fall in the OC. Bakersfield Drill Crew started off strong and need to continue that before another state takes one of the playoff spots. …Kahuku Code Red is a shoe in to represent Hawaii. …Liberty Patriot Pit has been fantastic and Damonte Ranch Blue Hole and Spanish Springs Cougar Den will battle for a playoff spot, but don’t sleep on Las Vegas because no one sleeps in that city. …Rio Rancho has earned the top spot this fall in New Mexico. Las Cruces will battle with Centennial for the other playoff spot. ….Syracuse Curse and Orem Ambush have been battling to be the top dawg in Utah and will probably get the chance to battle in the playoffs. Hunter has been the underdog and earned to be in the playoff discussion.

We have several weeks left, time to prove me right….or wrong!
